Granted. A bunch of things near you turn into a copy of Normal, Illinois. Researchers are stunned to find a perfect (if uninhabited) copy of a US town in your part of the world. They converge on it from all over the world for years to come. I wish I had some chips and salsa.

Well, this is awkward... (werewolf + dead NPC questions!)
AaronOfMpls replied to marieclairek's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Ideally, the best route would've been to reload your last save before Farkas's death. Failing that, if you saved before respawning Farkas, then instead of placeatme, you could do prid 1A693 (to select Farkas's RefID) and then moveto player. Then the original Farkas would be in front of you to resurrect. (Spawning a new copy of a unique NPC can sometimes confuse the game and cause problems later on.) -
The curse of alt-tab has done more than crash my game
AaronOfMpls replied to BumblingTree's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Alt-tabbing works OK for me, if I open the Steam overlay first. Otherwise, I'll usually get the double-cursor issue. -
You probably blocked a tag that Skyrim Redone is tagged with, which is why it was in your omitted results. (It's in mine for the same reason.)

Granted. In an alternate universe, Frank Zappa's daughter Moon Unit was adopted by Don Herbert, a.k.a. Mr. Wizard. Now she's visiting our universe, and she wants to say hi. I wish I had a winning lottery ticket.

Granted. It heals so freakishly fast that medical researchers from far and wide want to study you, and none of them will leave you alone until they do. I wish my old car (seen here when I got it in 2008) wasn't showing its age as much today.

Granted. You're distracted by cravings for fat and salt instead. I wish I'd gone to bed an hour ago.

Also, the bug is apparently fixed in the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, at least in new games.

Persistent Exterior CTDs are defeating me.
AaronOfMpls replied to ChaoticMarin's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You can open the .txt file where your load order is saved, and copy it here. The file should be at C:\Users\<your Windows username>\AppData\Local\Skyrim\plugins.txt. EDIT: Or, you can copy it from LOOT like Lord Garon said. Either way, put it in [ spoiler ] [/ spoiler ] tags so the page doesn't get too long for people scrolling past.) -
Thanks, lofgren and Ishara. I admit I haven't really done this, at least not for a long time, so I was only slightly less in the dark than the original poster.

Nope! I think you used to, in the early days of the Creation Kit, but that was before I started modding (late 2012).

I tend to prefer light armor on most of my characters. That said, one of my favorite heavy armors is rahman530's Ancient Nord Barbarian set, from the Lore Friendly Armor Pack (deprecated) or its much larger successor Immersive Armors. I tend to play more barbarian-type characters, and it fits their aesthetic well.

some npc's wont leave there house?
AaronOfMpls replied to ArabWarFighter's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Does it still happen in a new game, or just existing saves? Is Open Cities in the right place in your load order? (I don't use Open Cities, so I don't really know where it goes, or where BOSS and LOOT sort it.) -
LE Current best practice re: bsa or loose files
AaronOfMpls replied to mrpdean's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
IIRC, files load faster when they're in BSAs. That said, I haven't really tested this myself. -
notmyhome already mentioned I Yield! I Yield!. There's also Yield 2.0, which "makes it so that all non-essential men/elves will only truly yield when you are out of combat. This happens when all remaining opponents are in a bleed out state so usually with the last enemy." EDIT: I have yet to actually try any of these, though.

You probably have another mod that depends on Hearthfire (such as the Unofficial Hearthfire Patch). It you don't disable that too, then the game will CTD before the main menu. Also, disabling major scripted mods (such as the DLCs or the unofficial patches) in an existing save game is usually not a good idea. The game doesn't exactly clean up after removed mods, so you could get lingering errors in your save after. From a stability standpoint, it's better to go back to an earlier save, from before you built the parts of your house that you want to change.

Might've been Whitewatch. (I did an advanced search, with riverwood in the description, in the category "Abodes - Player homes".)

Come to think of it, I wonder how they'll handle Skyrim's multiple endings in TES VI. Will they make some canon and drop the rest, or will they take the Daggerfall -> Oblivion route and make all of them happen in some form, maybe a Warp in the North to match the earlier Warp in the West? (After all, there was a Dragon Break of sorts...)

Hmm, the bug seems to be fixed for me now. I just tried editing this pic's description again, and this time, "Test edit: Checking for a bug." is showing up. :D (I'll change it back later.)

I'm not sure where to post this, but...
AaronOfMpls replied to AfroGamerNinja's topic in Site Support
My post lists are updating OK, though can take a few minutes for new posts to show up, and some topics from the past day or so will appear out-of-order, at the top of page 2 or 3 instead of on page 1 where they belong. Have you tried hard-refreshing the page (Ctrl-F5), AfroGamerNinja, or clearing your browser cache? -
Looking at my own tracked files, I see I've missed a few updates as well. Some are betas or optional files, but some aren't (such as Extensible Follower Framework and Realistic Nights). A list of recent updates I missed (possibly incomplete): Storefront (main file) (installed) RaceMenu (main file) (installed) Realistic Nights (main file) (installed) Point the Way (main file) (never downloaded mod; just tracking) Civil War Overhaul (alpha of new version [v4]) (normal version installed) Extensible Follower Framework (beta of new version [4.0.0]) (normal version installed) Dragon Combat Overhaul (alpha of new version [v 11]) (normal version installed in MO, but not active) Passion Never Dies (optional file for Dual Sheath) (never downloaded mod; just tracking) Unique Character - Player Races (beta version [1.0, possibly misnumbered]) (never downloaded mod; just tracking)

Persistent Exterior CTDs are defeating me.

Try staying away from that area long enough for the cell to reset (usually 10 in-game days for outdoor cells). I had the same problem near Ustengrav and Windstad Manor in one game, and that fixed it for me. -
I seem to be having the problem also. I tried adding "(Test edit: Checking for a bug.)" to the bottom of the description on this pic. I saved it, got no error messages, but the page hadn't changed. I've refreshed and hard-refreshed the page, too -- no change. EDIT: And now I've restarted my browser and cleared its cache. No change there, either -- the description hasn't changed.

Unofficial Patches - "Legendary Edition" or Separate Files?
AaronOfMpls replied to Arthmoor's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I voted no. I usually play without Dawnguard, so a unified patch could be a problem for me. That said, I do use Mod Organizer, so any problems would be minimal for me. I could have some MO profiles use the existing separate patches (and put my existing saves in those) and other profiles that use the unified one. -
Mod Organizer causing Visual errors in game
AaronOfMpls replied to potatoe234's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I have no clue either. I've been using MO for months and I've never seen this glitch. Did you reinstall Skyrim when you started using MO? If so, did you launch Skyrim at least once outside MO, so the proper INI files and such exist for MO to find?
