You can fix them in-game with the setnpcweight ## console command (where ## is a number from 0 to 100). There are two problems with this, though: * You'll have to do this in every new game, and * If the weight you set is too different from the existing one, the NPC will have a gap at the neck seam. Personally, I always fix them via the Creation Kit. I select every gray-faced NPC in the affected mod by Ctrl-clicking each of them in the Actors list. Once I have them all selected, I hit Ctrl-F4 once. It's a bit less tedious than doing them one at a time, though it may take longer for the Creation Kit to process them all.

Thousands of options in color sliders of RaceMenu
AaronOfMpls replied to angel3181's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Maybe RaceMenu or Familiar Faces wasn't installed correctly, or they're in the wrong position in your load order relative to each other. Are these thousands of options still there without Familiar Faces? (I've never used Familiar Faces, so I don't know its quirks.) -
I presume you know how to make your mod dependent on another one. Load Konahrik's Accoutrements in the Creation Kit, but don't make it the active file; just double-click it to check the box next to it. When you save your changes, the CK will save them as a new mod. What happens at this stage depends on how Konahrik's Accoutrements is set up. If it's an ESM (or an ESP false-flagged as an ESM, like the unofficial patches), then the Creation Kit will list it as a required masterfile (an explicit dependency). If Konahrik's Accoutrements is an ordinary ESP (like most mods), then it'll be only an implicit dependency, not listed as a required masterfile. To make it explicit, you'll need a third-party tool like Wrye Bash to add it. (Search around for tutorials on how to do this; there's one here, but it's from 2012, and I don't know how much has changed since then.) If you don't add it, it might still work, but you'll have to remember to load both mods the next time you edit your mod. EDIT: See lofgren and IsharaMeradin's posts below. They found much better information on this than I did. Whether you add it or not, you'll still need to list Konahrik's Accoutrements as a required mod on the Nexus. Add it to the Required Files (so downloaders will get the prompt for it) and mention/link to it in your description somewhere (so downloaders who actually read descriptions can be proactive).

ALL Skills reduced by 15 in constellation.
AaronOfMpls replied to bar333's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Does it happen in new games? Does it still happen if you go back to an earlier save from before the problem? -
Bring one mammoth tusk to ysolda quest id?
AaronOfMpls replied to OmegaSkittles's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
It's generally a bad idea to keep playing a save with uninstalled mods -- especially ones that make major changes, like Open Cities. As you've just discovered, some of the changes they made will remain in your save, and can cause problems later on. It's better to go back to a save from before you installed those mods, or to start a new game. That said, the quest is a version of Rare Gifts, Favor110. If you have any more questions about quest, NPC, or object IDs, the UESP Wiki and the Elder Scrolls Wikia will usually have the answers. -
Can't play Skyrim because of missing d3dx9_43.dll
AaronOfMpls replied to TwilightDB's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Go into the Steam client > Games Library > Skyrim properties > Local Files tab, and hit "Verify integrity of game cache...". Steam should then figure out which file is missing and redownload it. -
Virus scan reports now visible on file pages, more security incoming
AaronOfMpls replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
Good to know about the downtime. I'd figured it was still lingering slowness from the recent Steam sale, but I see I was wrong. It's bad enough when my home 'net goes down; I can only imagine what it's like for a well-used site. As for compromising accounts, I can't think of much beyond learning passwords, or just generally causing mayhem. After all, some people use the same passwords for everything, including valuable stuff like their bank and PayPal. -
Can you name a few specific mods? I tried a few mods from the first page of the Skyrim Files section (Convenient Horses, WATER, FNIS, Climates Of Tamriel - Weather - Lighting - Audio), and all of their videos are showing up just fine for me. Otherwise, do you have any script-blockers in your browser (such as NoScript or Flashblock) that might be blocking YouTube videos? Can you still see YouTube videos when you visit youtube.com?

Links are working for me, as far as I can tell. Maybe the site was busy, or you followed some invalid links (maybe old ones from the tesnexus.com days). Where did you see them?
-
Nope, it's missing to me, too. The Readme tab on your mod is blank, and the .txt link goes to "Page not found!" I also uploaded a test readme to one of my simpler mods a few minutes ago, and it went through OK. Re-uploading the original worked, too.

Have you tried refreshing (or hard-refreshing, Ctrl-F5) the page after uploading? Maybe it's there, but you just aren't seeing it yet. (Don't worry about the Nexus renaming the file; that's normal. I always stick a copy with the original name in the same zip as my mod, anyway.)

Deletion of Backslashes on initial postings
AaronOfMpls replied to LHammonds's topic in Site Support
Yah, I've noticed it too when posting in file comments. I usually replace all my backslashes with forward slashes to avoid the problem. -
The filename doesn't seem to matter. Mine are almost always AoM_ModName.txt (where AoM_ModName.esp is the actual mod file you put in your game). I don't think encoding matters, either (though mine are always UTF-8 ). Is the file plain-text (i.e., something you'd save with Notepad or similar)? If it is, the site might've just been busy (see my previous posts in this thread). Have you tried again at a quieter time?

What is the deal with generally snide comments?
AaronOfMpls replied to Cosmosis1's topic in Site Support
Then, too, it's summer in the Northern Hemisphere right now, when schools and colleges/universities go on break. Lots of immature people with nothing better to do, I guess. -
Yup, I do that too, Bess. Works for both mods and screenshots, if I remember correctly.

Papyrus logs too large to open with notepad or other viewers
AaronOfMpls replied to kettering's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Problems like this are why it's a bad idea to remove mods from an existing save -- especially mods that add or change scripts. Better to revert to an old save made before installing those mods, or to start a new save without them. (Kinda makes me wonder about some of my early saves, made before I knew better. Would I get similarly large, spammy script logs if I loaded them with logging turned on?) -
The site has been very busy lately, joyous1ariella, from the recent Steam summer sale. (It's still doing a lot better than it did last Christmas, though. :D )

Papyrus logs too large to open with notepad or other viewers
AaronOfMpls replied to kettering's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You may have to set those log files aside for now, and let the game create new ones. Hopefully, the new files will be small enough to open. Who knows, your game might even lag less, since it won't be editing monstrously-large files any more. Personally, I'd either * make an "old logs" subfolder and move the old logs in there, and/or * rename them by adding the last-modified date ("2014-07-08", for example) to the end of the filenames. (I've been doing something similar with local-chat logs in Second Life for years. I regularly make a copy of chat.txt, and rename the copy to chat_old_YYYY-MM.txt, where YYYY and MM are the year and month numbers of the current month (e.g., 2014-07). At the beginning of every month, after copying, I open chat.txt itself and delete the previous month's chat history, so the file doesn't get too big.) -
Pics have been loading slow the last few days here in the US, too. I figure the servers are still busy; fallout from the recent Steam sale.

Lost on the Nexus Picture Share Question
AaronOfMpls replied to oOtailspinOo's topic in Site Support
As far as I know, you're OK linking off-site, as long as the mod in question, and the page/site it's on, doesn't break any Nexus rules. E.g., the mod doesn't use others' work/copyrights without permission, the description page doesn't have nudity if you're linking from the normal image share (not Supporters'), the site doesn't allow ripped or pirated content, and so on. I've linked to a few mods on Steam, for example (such as Places: Oakwood for Skyrim), a number of times before. The thread Content linked in image descriptions in our Image Share sections, in Forum Rules and Warnings, has some more info on this, especially in the first post. -
There are some options in the User Area (under User > Site Preferences > Your notification preferences): "Receive notifications for comments on your files" and "Receive notifications for new comments on files you're tracking". But I think they only warn you about all comment posts on those mods, not just replies to your own posts.

I subscribe to the mod's forum thread. Go to the Posts tab, and click the "View forum thread" link. I always reply on the mod page, though (instead of the forum), so my replies end up under the posts I'm replying to. Same for editing my posts.

Octopuss: It's possible you triggered your browser's zoom feature by accident. Try hitting Ctrl-0 (Ctrl-zero) next time it happens. Most browsers have a zoom feature that uses Ctrl-+ (Ctrl-plus) and Ctrl-- (Ctrl-minus) to zoom in and out, and Ctrl-0 to reset.

The "Posts" link in profiles only shows the last five posts (and always has, as far as I know). To see more than that, click the "Find content" button instead. You'll get a list of recent threads or posts there, much longer than five posts.
