What is it with these Japanese publishers/developers who are completely out of touch with the western market? Everyone knows GFWL is widely considered to be terrible, and it's definitely going to hurt sales.

This is the first time I've actually seen a gaming-related internet petition work.

They've brought it upon themselves. With their aggressive pushing of second hand copies and other bad practices that harm the gaming industry no publishers likes them either. So they won't get any help there and all the bad rep will also make other organizations who could save GAME shy away. EA probably enjoyed refusing to sell Mass Effect 3 to them and seeing it fall apart. Good riddance. To anyone who still shopped at GAME, I'd recommend buying games from Amazon.co.uk. I'm not even from the UK but I buy games from them and they're great. You'll probably get a better service/deal and a larger variety of games there than if you'd buy games in super markets, which is probably where this thing is going.

Morrowind Overhaul is much better supported and customizable than the '2011' compilation, and it's fairly easy to install.You do need a fairly good graphics card though, and you didn't mention what you have. It only covers graphics/sounds, not gameplay. But there aren't really any good combat altering mods around anyway, which is probably the biggest difference between Morrowind and Skyrim gameplay wise. It's worth looking at the Morrowind for Oblivion Players article. Obviously Oblivion and Skyrim have differences too, but it highlights some important things about Morrowind, specifically for combat.

If publishers find out people are willing to fork over money for a better ending of a game we're in real trouble. I heard Final Fantasy XIII-2 players are already getting screwed over by having the game end on a 'to be continued' note with DLC coming in the future for the real ending.

Had no problem with the procedure when mine were removed. The area was just sedated and they were taken out. The worst part is hours later when the painkiller wears off, or when you need to eat something. You'll want to eat stuff that doesn't involve a lot of chewing.

Dungeons of Dredmor is so much fun. If you've never played a roguelike RPG before it's an excellent and accessible introduction to the genre. It has a nice sense of humor too, and at least 3 TES references. :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIKH36J1wQQ

Well there's the competitive e-sports scene of course. Starcraft 2 tournaments with over a million dollar prize pool. How you exactly get into these kind of tournaments I have no idea though. Lots and lots of playing I suppose, going to smaller tournaments, making a name for yourself.

Well at that point New Vegas wasn't announced yet. :P But it would make sense for Bethesda to alternate between Fallout and TES from now on. Both series are very popular.

I know of several modding communities that don't have a dedicated site like Nexus for their mods that use Megaupload. For those that don't use mirrors, that's a lot of content lost.

Doesn't surprise me. Ubisoft is completely clueless and their constant messing around with crazy DRM schemes is only hurting their sales. Which, naturally, they blame piracy for.

Deus Ex Human Revolution worked well on the consoles, and also had a great PC port with a redesigned PC-centered UI of its own and tons of graphics options. Also, STALKER 2 is not dead. :) (Edit: Thor1 actually beat me to it a couple posts back)
