there can also be such issues if you use hi res skin retextures (if this is the case it can be hit or miss, meaning it may cause instant ctds at first and all a sudden it's running fine, or vice-versa). sometimes the game engine can't handle hi res textures.

i guess it’s time for me to chime in, in yet another of these threads. As for who is good or evil… as this thread was originally about… and as so many before have stated: Neither the imperial legion nor the stormcloak rebels are technically evil. The thalmor on the other hand seem to be about as evil as they come. about how the emperor botched the WGC at the end of the great war… that’s a bit tricky to answer, but I’ll give it a go. At the start of the war the empire lost its eyes and ears, when the thalmor smashed the imperial intelligence service (the blades were not officially a part of the imperial infrastructure either militarily or politically speaking, but still functioned independently on behalf of the empire). even though the battle of the red ring was technically an imperial victory, the emperor had no way of knowing the remaining strength of the dominion forces. It was still foolish to accept the original conditions the dominion was demanding; however, there needed to be strife in skyrim so it was a plot device, nothing more. And fielding a military force especially a large one is far more complicated then getting a group of men together, arming them, and sending them out there. the imperial army had won at this point but was in no condition to launch a counter attack into the summerset isles. or valenwood (valenwood would have been a disaster, well even more so then attacking summerset) as for who was right or wrong (which isn’t necessarily good or evil), I think given the situation as a whole… going stormcloak is at least slightly less “right” then going imperial. I also think ulfric was foolish to become the aggressor by attacking whiterun. If he were smart, he would have pushed the imperial army to action by outmaneuvering the legion politically, forcing the imperial army to strike first so he could turn them into the aggressor of the conflict; and so painting himself the protector of skyrim fending off the invading imperial army. And also the possibility of ulfric being a dominion operative itself should be enough to give any stormcloak supporter pause. just my 2c

i'm running 200 or so mods, and for the most part it's fairly stable. from time to time an update causes issues, either an update to skyrim or one or more of the mods i'm using.

i've always liked dumer as well, however i'm equally fond of bretons. and not just because of their natural magicka resistance.

it also helps if your crit killing blow strikes from head on with the dragon. it doesn't seem to triger if you're off to the side, say attacking the dragons wing. or at least as far as i can tell

that would be correct. i have to be plugged into steam while i'm playing. i do find it overly intrusive & annoying, but there’s not much I can do about it. ---edit--- you sure about that? i'm fairly sure that there is no such thing as offline mode anymore.

on a few of my character he said "i'm impressed". usually after a flurry of hits dropped his health to zero.

He is capable with twohanded weapons, but is better with onehanded. i checked his stats using aft.

Both of the Red Mountain books. The Vivec one, and the one the Tribunal Temple wrote. there are more examples, but those two are the most fleshed out and direct. i did always have trouble accepting anything the tribunal or the tribunal temple said. but oh, well.

usually my rules depend on the character i'm playing, for the most part. these are my kind of universal rules i suppose i do tend to rp obsessively i guess. i only fast travel when i'm pressed for time or i'm going to be running over terrain i've already gone over several times, basically to give things a chance to respawn. this isn't exactly a rule but i have trouble playing evil characters, it makes me feel guilty & i don't really enjoy it. i'm just the goodie-two-shoes type at heart. that might make a good name for my next argonian character. on second thought no. :biggrin:

I understand that, but every thalmor I've ever bumped into have in some way acted so stuck-up. the thalmor are actually the minority, even in summerset. or maybe not so much now in the summerset isles, after the 17 decades of purges.

as i recall azura did appear to the tribunal, but what she actually said was ment as a warning, if you read it carefully. i can't recall verbatim, but it was something along the line of... if you steal the power of a dead god the act itself will corrupt you as surely as it did dagoth ur. or something like that. and her wrath was bringing back lord nerevar. ---edit again--- and even in that book you're talking about she never said she turned their skin ashen and eyes red, she said the tribunal's action's were responsible.

it was the actions of the tribunal that turned the chimer into the dunmer. azura didn't have anything to do with it personally. ...She cursed them after the Tribunal defied their oath and Sotha Sil cursed her. That's as personal as it gets. No hes right, Azura even said it wasn't her doing. Anything that happened was their own doing. Azura facilitated their downfall but they were failing already. Nope. Vivec, the Tribunal Temple and many other sources say that it was her. She says it was her. Azura didnt like the Anumidium, or it's power (specifically mortals trying to play or make god). They (the Tribunal) swore an oath to her, they broke the oath and dismissed her, and she cursed them. Apologies. You are right. I'm not sure where I read that it was otherwise but I definitely did, I think it was ingame not so long ago. the tribunal never admitted to anything that put them in a bad or lesser light, even in the end. the tribunal was cursed by tapping into lorkhan’s heart, and the chimer were cursed by the tribunal, though that was unintentional. Azura only hastened the tribunal's downfall, and to a lesser extent the dunmer as a whole.

you get the land for a house as a reward from a jarl. sort of like the thane quests. you shouldn't have gotten a letter from falkreath yet though. I agree, but what I should have gotten and what I did get are totally different. I removed Heartfire, because I was tired of getting letters from nowhere other than Falcreath (even though I had never been there with 99% of my characters), and I spread my characters out in different cities/towns as their base. i haven't had these issues, could it be a mod conflict or are you not using the unofficial hearthfire patch? i've built houses in all 3 holds. not all on the same character.

if i recall gregor is using a mace when i first met him. as for the showcase bug it's fixed by the unofficial hearthfire patch. as for generally changing a follower's combat style you need something like AFT (Amazing Follower Tweaks) AFT Unofficial Hearthfire Patch hope that helps

alduin might be the larger threat; however, which threat is closer to home? alduin is taking time to gather his forces and prepare himself, while vampire seem to be murdering people at random from the getgo. if you have 3 vampires right in front of you and a dragon off in the distance which threat seems more urgent? just IMHO as always.

i have no idea anymore. after all is said and done are orsimer truely elven anymore... at first i though not, but i just don't know after all this. :wallbash:
