  1. Try turning it on in ENB GUI with proper ENB preset installed first. In Nvidia Inspector select Drivers tool icon. In next window type Elder Scrolls V in Profile search. Scroll to Common > Ambient Occlusion Usage. The game doesn't support AO out of the box. You will have to force it with Nvidia Inspector (through drivers settings) or ENB. Forcing it only with Inspector won't give you the best result, since it will only be guessing where approximately the shadowed area should be placed. ENB has avaible much better AO code, which was designed for Skyrim. For example when comparing Fallout 4 ENB AO with native Nvidia HBAO (high quality AO from GameWorks for F4), the quality is the same, they just differ in the technique and produce slightly different results.
  2. SKSE is a tool allowing modders to extend functions of original papyrus script. You should think of it as a framework. Generally Bethesda doesn't comment on mods. They are not interested in individual fan made content outside of letting users host their mods on bethesda.net. You can find Fallout4 F4SE based mods for PC platform uploaded there. Most of the income comes from console versions of Fallout and TES franchise. Script Extender works only with Windows on PC, so you can do the math behind Bethesdas logic.
  3. I think your problems might be related to SPERG. It hasn't been updated in a long while and there is quite few bug reports on the mod page. You might be better off looking for mods editing individual skill trees. I highly suggest Wildcat combat mod. You could say it's Vigors sibling. Combat mods I'm currently using:
  4. Legendary Edition for 13$ was worth it. I would pay 10 just to play Enderal. The only reason I think full price is a no go, is this ancient engine. Even with 64bit version there will be a lot of limitations and performance hampering design choices. Textures can be always swapped, NPC pathfinding and environment awareness framework not so much. It's weird that you're saying this while advertising a modding guide in your sig. I actually enjoy the process of modding as much as playing and I know there are others like me here on nexus. Not being able to mix and match any of the mods would be boring.
  5. I don't think they will accept return of used card, that wasn't causing any technical difficulties. You better contact Evga first or you will end up selling the card to private person for less then you paid. Getting new card won't really solve the issues with your PC case poor air circulation or weak cpu cooler. You will need to do something about that sooner or later. Shipping your gpu cards back and forth will cost you more than 1 new case. Mid ATX models start from 25$.
  6. Np  For me presonally True Vision wasn't enough. I like when my ENB makes the textures look smooth and sharp at the same time, to help Skyrim maks it's shortcomings (the game looks old on it's own due to DX9 limitations). Good shaders and lightning will do the trick. First time might seem like black magic, but it gets easy once you get the hang of it. Rudy Enb has few options, so you can practice installing process and compare the difference between lightning/weather mods. If you want it to look similiar to True Vision try Rudy URWL version with RS Light Color.esp pluging from ELE lightning overhaul mod by --JawZ-- (FULL / LITE site). When trying out different weather mods (CoT, NLVA/Vivid Weathers, etc) remember to remove the pluging after you moved your charater to interior cell. Save and wait/sleep for 7 days to clear custom weather.
  7. NLA had a higher performance impact for me than Rudy ENB NLA. You can switch quality on most settings from High to Low for better results. -Rudy ENB NLA v3 (60fps / 780ti) ingame test video- Rudy has a very gentle DoF, comes with optional profile and includes screenshot instructions on how to tweak it ingame. There are types of DoF that will cause big FPS dips and might be problematic for weaker cpu's. Ask Enb authors for DoF swapping tips. What do you mean? The only problem you might encounter is caused by installing different Enb preset (not compatible with NLA) when you already have NLA weather .esp in your load order.
  8. Replace Skyrim HD with NobleSkyrimMod HD (avaible in 1 & 2k). Realistic Water Two or Pure Waters + Pure Waterfalls Use SFO without grass (Trees Only .esp) Skyrim HD Tributte Terrain Parrallax or NobleSkiyrimMod HD Landscape (1k for best performance) + Vivid Landscapes aMidianBorn Book of Silence Rustic Clothes (1k gloves/boots, 2k body) So why exactly you want Summer Edition? For the green trees/grass? Verdant + Enhanced Landscapes Green Fields optional .esp (low resolution texture option) Natural Aspen
  9. It's actually a common bug. Carriage mesh physics reacts poorly to any mesh replacers placed near it. I had problem with Stormcloak Lord armor from Immersive Armors making carriage do barrel rolls. Simple solution is to activate such mods after you've completed first part of the oppening scene. Recently I have stopped having this bug. So here are the mods which might help: Duke Patricks - Skyrim Friction Fix II Prisoner cart fix Crash fixes by meh321 Bug fixes by meh321 Legendary Edition was just the Steam bundle name. Now you can't even buy it anymore, there is just discount for purchasing base game (-50%) with the DLCs (-25%). You just need all DLCs for USLEEP. There was similiar question posted not long ago. -Link-
  10. Then why should anybody make mods like Alternate Start or better Paarthurnax quest ending? You are posting this on modding community site, where people recreate the original content either because they want to learn modding or want a different story and setting after beating the game 20 times. There are mods like Train/Cheese Rain and you question NPC age and possibly questline edit? Moderators already made this clear on other mod page. The user is responsible for the way he uses mods editing children in any way. If he uses mod combinations which may result in inappropriate content, the user is obligated either to uninstall the mod or edit it himself to fix the problem. You will just see anything here pointless, because you feel bad about the whole topic and would rather not see any reason for subjects, that cannot draw a distinct line between white and black, to exist. It's malicious of you to assume that other people must be doing something wrong with content, which is flexible to go either way ONLY when someone intentionally alternates it in this specific way. Do you honestly think everyone are some sort of creeps who would cross the line and commit illegal act? 99.5% are normal people, but you send a message that you see everyone -who speaks about things that might be uncomfortable for some folks (the ones who bet that the "0.5% chance" bad scenario will be the most probable outcome)- as just one type of person. The one that should be locked out. You're are just dropping questions like that here and there, because you know the things you really want to say will get you banned. And we know there is a lot more of them, since you are still here.
  11. Not that suprising for someone who obviously has no problems at all with child marriage or how would you explain this mod of yours: It seems like you are taking ingame stuff too seriously. Player can edit the game, so that either: 1. Elisif was never married. 2. Her daughter is the current ruler. Or he can pretend on his own that the marriage never happened and Torygg was her uncle, because he was too lazy to make the actual edits. Same way people disregard whole Dragornborn plot and pretend to be someone else, who doesn't have anything to do with dragons and prophecies. Besides that in the middle ages royals could marry off their children at age of 12 for the political reasons, so it's not really historically incorrect, even though it's shocking in today's culture. I'm not saying we should replicate this custom in real life, just pointing out it was sanctioned in the past. If someone wanted to roleplay a hero in a hardcore medieval setting, I wouldn't mind. There are historical books based on real facts or spinoffs in fictional settings and somehow people don't get triggered by it.
  12. What Ishara said. Create folder SteamMods1 (or whatever name you fancy) in .../Mod Organizer/Mods and drop texture/mesh folders or .esp files into it. You don't even have to .zip it and install with MO. It will see all the folders added manually by you. Just remember to tick the checkbox as active in MO left panel.
  13. Oh, please... Parents let their children run topless in the summer and no one thinks anything of it, but as soon a form of media portrays young character in semi skimpy sports wear it's the end of the world and morality. Things get blown out of proportion when it comes to games and TV. Everyone sits on front of their screens like a flock of vultures, waiting for opportunity to call something obscene and then they proceed to disregard context and just tweet, blog or post manipulated content in hope of getting more views. Bestselling topics nowadays are: sexism vs. feminists, video games causes aggression, fake child character gets killed or wears shorts. And what of women who are not of standard american size? There are demographics with petite bodies. Will you call a man who marries 40 year old that looks like 15 a pervert? It got ridiculous to the point where they started prohibiting pornstars with small breasts doing their job. They literary made it illegal, forcing adult women to go through implant surgery in order to stay in business. People who are the most verbal about being against everything that has to do with interpreting children in a way that is not a perfect replica of child in 1st world environment, have issues. 1. It's not a real child. When a kid gets shot in a movie about war, it's for the story. People won't go and pay just to see some kid die, but won't mind if it's a part of plot development. 2. People are not a mindless monkeys. They won't copy bad behavior after just seeing it, unless there is something wrong with their heads. When I was a kid I've read "Lord of Flies" in middle school, like the rest of the class and no one ended up being a psychopath. 3. Some people are trying really hard to see something that normal person won't. Then they assume everyone are creeps, who would do something to a child in real life. Maybe it's time to stop.
  14. After you're done with installing new drivers, make sure your .ini files located in Mod Organizer/Profiles have updated GPU info. skyrimprefers.ini [Display] sD3DDevice=
  15. Oh, really? :D https://youtu.be/5QIGNi9vAFU?t=2m51s
  16. Your best bet is ENB. You will be able to set ambient lightning level for interiors and night to your liking. It also comes with "Adaptation", which adjust brightness level according to your personal Min-Max values. Usually setting both to 0.50 will lock the brightness at medium value in all conditions (after that you can up the brightness with either ENB gamma setting or Skyrim menu slider). In the past my eyes were strained due to how much contrast there was with vanilla lightning. ENB presets with gentle Bloom effect fixed that for me. There is a couple hundred of custom presets for ENBs, but this one is my favourite one: You will need main file (d3d9.dll and enbhost.exe located in Wrapper folder) from ENB site (scroll to the bottom of the page and press download button) and preset from nexus. More detailed installation instructions can be found on Rudy ENB page. It's highly customizable and can be adjusted for more performance once you familiarize yourself with the ingame UI (Shift+Enter to open). I would recommend installing Rudy ENB for Vanilla lightning first, since it doesn't require any additional weather mods from nexus.
  17. ~ Crash Fixes ~ SKSE ~ ENB / Enboost Set Skyrim executables to always run as administrator in Win7 compability mode. Have you tried turning on Steam overlay, Alt+Tab to desktop and then terminate application? I used to have problems with quitting Skyrim application with some older types of ENBs in fullscreen mode (PS: There is a mod for seamless forced windowed mod). Totally disabling Steam Overlay for Skyrim in Steam options might have positive effects when you run the game with Enboost or ENB memory fix.
  18. All .esp mods will have to be loaded in CK, recompiled and resaved. Unless you are going to do that yourself, some mods will never work with Remastered version. There are a lot of mod authors who have retired without giving permissions to redistribute their work. Besides that some of the authors don't own all DLCs and don't qualify for free game upgrade. Even if SKSE and ENB will get swiftly updated right after the launch in October, the .esp mods will still not be usable for a while. There is also a question of how fast other applications like FNIS, Crash Fixes, etc can be adapted. It depends a lot on how the game will get ported. I would say that unless you are interested exclusively in screenarchery, the Remastered version won't be properly moddable before next year. Take into account that Skyrim Remastered is treated as separate game entry in your Steam library. This means you can have both of them installed at the same time and mod each of them to your liking without worrying about mods interfering with each other.
  19. I wont take my Rottweiler hell-hounds or whatever they are into battle, I think its cruelty to animals, You cant avoid hitting them...in the civil war I hit just as many of my own men as the enemy will almost as many and its annoying. I hate friendly fire. i give followers more stats than I give myself so they are not knelling over puking or whatever from friendly fire all the time. If they were not essential they would have course all be dead. The only PET companion that will work for you >>> https://youtu.be/TtNBh5FN35U?t=43s You can call me racist  Well.. not really. I think that Khajiits are a very useful bunch, with their tails being hollow so that they can smuggle more skooma.
  20. I had a friend who used to get long term contracts as technician in some remote locations, where you could get only satelite connection occasionally. He got so bored that he decided to learn ice fishing...
  21. I don't get what problem you have with it. Using and tweaking Enb is fairly simple. He can just download a guide and few presets, try it out now before he leaves. For example Rudy Enb has Vanilla / URWL / NLA / NLVA version which he can switch in between. Downloading clean 0.308 enbseries and tweaking the file to his liking is also an option. The only thing he wouldn't be able to do is write new shaders, but that's something only few people here on nexus can do. The rest of us just tweaks existing files. All decent mods offer 1k optional files and there is no need to resign from using them. What causes crashes for you is most likely lack of stability mods (Crash Fixes for example) or some sort of incompatibility. Weather and Water mods will have issues with sound overhauls, if you won't get proper patches. The other possibility is that you had an outdated version with broken nif files, that require fixing. Mesh Tool N7 - NIF Healer by Anton Save game script cleaner by Hadoram
  22. Your problem is UFO. It's really outdated and lacks No Friendly Fire patches like the one you can find at AFT page. With AFT framework you can also select priority spells for your followers, forcing them to use something less in the way. The best AI controls I have seen so far had Inigo. With the latest update you can command him with a shortcut key. The only downside is that he has a fixed combat style (mele/archer) and can't be managed by follower mods, since he has his own framework. With mage followers working out of the box without any other mods, I had best experience with BFF Animal Companions  I guess saying "Dog is man's best friend" still stands, even when it comes to modding.
  23. Download all quest and dungeon mods that piques your interest. Even if you won't be able to use them all due compability reasons, you can create multiple mod lists for different characters with Mod Organizer profiles. Just remember to copy text from Mod Page and FAQ into text document on your drive. There are almost always installation instructions and compability lists posted by the authors. Get all mandatory mods from STEP list like: SKSE, Unofficial Legendary Patch USLEEP, TES5Edit, WyreBash, LOOT, Crash Fixes, Bug Fixes, Enb Particle Patch, ENB/Enboost, FNIS, Extended Skeletons, Realistic Ragdolls and Force, SkyUI, etc. Consider downloading Creation Kit and Gimp (or Photoshop, if you have the license key). Over the course of 4 years, you might want to learn how to edit on your own some of the content. I'm sure someone here will link you helpful guides (which you should download), if you're willing to go that route. Mods you might like: ~Hunting in Skyrim - A Hunting Guild~ ~Hunterborn by dragonsong~ ~Art of the Catch by Chesko~ From the creator of Frostfall - Hypothermia Camping Survival. ~Fishing In Skyrim by Arodicus Snaux~ From other threads: -Link- -Link-
  24. In the thread Morti has kindly linked for you in the post above, I have posted my recommended list on the first page. Under the Spoiler tag you will find sections like: Immersion, Animation, etc. Here is a bit more indepth combat mod list: Right now I'm using Nordic 2handed attack animations by cyh0405. You will need new FNIS to patch all new animations. Watch this video guide on how to use it with Mod Organizer. -Link- TES5Edit is mandatory. Original Bethesda .esm files have dirty edits and require cleaning. While dirty edits don't cause many problems for vanilla game, they become an issue when you start editing (modding) content. You can also scan all your mods with it for any potential conflict and then try to resolve them. WyreBash is most often used for creating bashed patches for mods editing loot list. To solve your LOD issues you will have to use Dyndolod. It's a bit of a hassle to install, but there is no way around it if you want perfectly matching models and textures. I'm not sure how beefy is your computer, but the best way to not have any LOD pop up in your face is to increase loaded cell count from 5 to 7 (uGrid). I didn't had any problems with quest firing, however I account that to my 4.5ghz i7 cpu. You might want to give Cutting Room Floor and Opening Scene Overhaul a go. They both restore unfinished Bethesda's quests and content.
  25. Have you tried ELFX (darker dungeons edition) on top of it? It modifies image space in order to make certain types of interiors pitch black in spots where there is no natural light comming from anywhere. When you install ENB you will be able to manually set ambient light level for interiors to low level (Shift+Enter ingame to open UI, scroll down to Enviroment section). If you want it super dark combine those two with Eternal Darkness Redone (it turns off all unnecessary lights in the dungeons).
