Not really a support issue. Submit change requests through Vortex upper right three dots. That way they will be tracked. Optionally also post under Discussion to get other feedback from users.

Well that is simpler. Stop Vortex. Go to game directory. Run Fallout4.exe Does that work? If it does, your shortcut path to the game is bad. Another possibility is that after Fallout 4 updates, you have to go to Options and set your graphic modes appropriately (resolution, etc) You can exit after saving options.

Vortex does not need to be running. Stop Vortex. Try launching f4se_loader from the game directory. If that works, your Vortex shortcut has a bad path. If it does not work, Follow Augusta's pointer.

For a first post - not bad.

Answer-bot approves this answer. I would have said the same...

This is unrelated to Vortex, but we range wide. You don't specify Skyrim LE or Skyrim SE. Skyrim LE is more prone to crashes in general due to 32 bit engine and memory management. The hard limit for plugins (esps and esms) is 255. Many people push that limit, with reasonable game stability. There is no limit on texture replacers (no esps). Knock yourself out. Skyrim especially is sensitive to script-heavy mods. Limit those. Things like settlement builder and scrap everything. If you are on Skyrim SE - don't try to run mods for Skyrim LE unless they have been converted. Missing Masters will crash Skyim (either) before it gets to the Load screen. Keep going on those 10 mods. You should be able to isolate the specific mod at fault.

Please watch a video tutorial. It will give you a foundation - and reduce your trips back here.

Man this is just the wrong forum to help you... This is Vortex Support. Your issue is not with the mod manager Vortex. Your issue is with the mod CBP. Post on that mod for help...

One of the comments in the mod says: you have to place the cbp dll inside your SKSE/Plugins folder manualy. Did you do this?

How to run java based Dual Sheath Redux patcher?
rmm200 replied to starfis's topic in Vortex Support
Glad you got it all working! But just to keep kicking a dead horse, what happens if you open a command window and type "java -version"? What happens if you double click a .jar file in file manager? Does it open with Java? Part of your problem seems to be related to the Java installation (not related to Vortex). Either it did not install correctly (Registry entries, etc), the environment variable JAVA_HOME was not set, or the file associations (right mouse on file, Properties, change Opens With) are incorrect. -
BodySlide and Outfit Studio- using it on vortex
rmm200 replied to wpkaverage's topic in Vortex Support
Just one last word of encouragement. I find Bodyslide - and Outfit Studio - work wonderfully under Vortex. Same with FNIS. And, unlike NMM, you can stop Vortex and run them directly out of the game directory if you like.- 74 replies

Above my pay grade. Ask on the bodyslide forum. All your custom work must be saved somewhere - I just don't know where.- 74 replies

BodySlide and Outfit Studio- using it on vortex

Yes. Just do a batch build. Do a batch build anytime you add a bodyslide file or a mod like DD that calls for it. Bodyslide is much like FNIS in this regard.- 74 replies

How to run java based Dual Sheath Redux patcher?

I would change "Start in" to the game directory. At least worth a try. Everything else looks good to me. -
Vortex is built on a pot full of other applications. When all of those are converted to Linux, starting with Loot - we can talk.
-
Bah - when I first went and tried Ctl A, I swear it did not work. Tried it again - and it all works as expected. No feature needed.
-
I could have sworn we already had an "Enable all" for mods - but I guess it is just for plugins. Make sure you enter this from within Vortex as a Feature Request. Three dots in upper right corner.

BodySlide and Outfit Studio- using it on vortex
rmm200 replied to wpkaverage's topic in Vortex Support
Bodyslide works fine on Vortex. Install it like a normal mod. It will show up down in the dashboard at the bottom. You might have to tweak the directory paths. It should run out of your game directory; not the mod folder.- 74 replies

From your description, it sounds like one of the mods that use F4SE has a problem. I would start by renaming the F4SE dlls, one by one, and see if you can isolate which one has a problem.

Limited Vortex alpha release today, full release soon
rmm200 replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
I have a bug here I don't know how to resolve. Zip file: MiasLair_V62B_Full_SE.7z == Interface ==meshes ==scripts ==SEQ ==sound ==Textures MiasLair.esp This file installs correctly on both NMM and MO2. In Vortex, all that winds up in mods is the contents of meshes/MiasLair. That is just a bunch of NIFs. These get installed by Vortex in the base Skyrim SE directory; not even under Data. All other files, including the ESP, are ignored. I have tried adding an extra name at the top of the structure, and tried adding Data as the top entry. These had no effect. Any ideas? Things I should try? I do hate interrupting the people casting shade with an actual question. Keep up the good fight! -
Given that we have a large set of mods installed with NMM 0.63.14, hard links and all, how hard is it going to be to switch over to Vortex? what about switching back to NMM?

All blessings be to the Creation Club! Life would be so boring without it. Also, let this teach you to turn off automatic backups and use one of the very good executable savers.

BodySlide refuses to open in ModOrganizer!
rmm200 replied to firepyromaniac's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Same problem here. I attribute it to the Windows Creator Update.... No solution found - except to run Bodyslide native.- 15 replies
