  1. If you really have nothing to save, you can delete the folder AppData/Roaming/Vortex. That will remove all your profiles and configuration data, and should let you start clean. As long as Downloads was not on the ill-fated D rive, you should not have to download your mods again.
  2. Also: before you try any mods, make sure FNV runs fine. Once it does, start slow. Just NVSE and what it requires. Then add another. Keep going until it breaks.
  3. I am a big proponent of the forum locking a topic when it hits two years from original post date. To be generous, you could make it two years from last post date. That would stop pretty much all necro posts.
  4. You see 4 Vortex processes; not copies of Vortex. A normal Vortex launch starts 5 processes. Check the Vortex log and see if it has anything relevant.
  5. Based on what you said, I did some more looking. Stay at System Page V1.6 does work. It was posted two weeks ago: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/76927?tab=description
  6. Click on your Plugins tab. Are these plugins there and enabled? What tells you that USEEP is not working? I have not found any version of Stay at System Page that works with current Skyrim build.
  7. Loot is part of Vortex. Don't run it separately. And especially - don't clean Bethesda files.
  8. Word of warning: You may think it is safe to delete mods you have downloaded and installed, to save space, but those archives serve as a useful backup. Mods on websites get moved or deleted without warning.
  9. Well you are free to do both... I would always attempt the bug report.
  10. This sounds worth reporting as a potential bug. Open Vortex, click the upper right three dots, choose Send Feedback, select Bug Report, and follow the instructions. Bug reports are actually tracked by the developers, and you get status.
  11. The primary requirement is that the mod staging folder be on the same drive as the game. If you have both Skyrim SE and Skyrim VR on the same drive can mods share the same mod staging folder? That question is above my pay grade, and may require a response from Tannin. I don't see any obvious reason that it would not work, but I always opt for simplicity.
  12. Have you watched the video I linked? It is still useful for someone like you. When you Purge mods from the mods page - the Skyrim game folder is indeed pristine. Second point - never ever back up your game folder with mods Deployed. That will destroy them. Windows does a deep copy. Vortex uses nothing from a backup drive - unless you really screwed up your folder definitions. There is only one Download folder - which can be anywhere. Not on a backup drive though. There is one Skyrim SE mod staging folder, which has to be on the same drive as the game. Not on a backup drive. All of this should have been covered in the above video. If you want a newer one - bug Gopher.
  13. Yours is the first activity on this thread in over a year and a half...
  14. The mod staging folder folder has to be on the same drive as the game, and unique to that game. So both Skyrim SE and Skyrim VR should have their own unique mod staging folder. Downloads folder can be anywhere, and is shared - sort of. Skyrim SE will have a subdirectory, and Skyrim VR will also have a subdirectory. Skyrim VR can draw from either - if you set the flags right. Disclaimer: This is my understanding; as always, subject to correction.
  15. You might start by telling us where you tried to post. On the Race Menu mod support topic? That would be the place to find help.
  16. Well shoot. I have always believed the Skyrim VR executable was based on the 32 bit engine - but now I can't find anything to back that up. So let me just retract my statement about compatibility. Sorry about that...
  17. On one of the profiles, SSE say, click the Downloads tab. At the very bottom of that window, click View all downloads. Now scroll down to a mod you want for SSE and VR. Double-click it. Click the highlighted Add button. Click on Skyrim VR. Now it will show up in both. Shees - don't they teach you guys anything in school these days?? Just kidding. I only recently leaned this. Vortex is full of surprises. Note: Skyrim VR is the same 32 bit engine as Skyrim LE. It was released way before Skyrim SE. You might have better luck with LE mods.
  18. One final note: MO 2 uses a virtual file system for mods, which means MO 2 must be running when the game runs. Tannin wrote MO 2 as well as Vortex. This is just one of the things he improved in Vortex; switching to a standard Windows facility Hard Links.
  19. If you are using Lock to index - 99 times out of 100 you are doing something wrong. I have gone through hundreds of mods on multiple games - and never once have I used lock to index.
  20. For most games, like Bethesda games, starting the game from Vortex is just for convenience. If you are short on memory, it can help to close Vortex to free up resources. Bear in mind - if you use something like SKSE or F4SE, you must start the game from that executable.
  21. And some of us actually prefer the way it is currently. I don't want to find myself downloading multiple copies of a mod because it was "hidden" in this profile. I also like being able to update a mod in all profiles just by updating it once.
  22. There is one Skyrim category: Skyrim mods, and one mod staging directory. Profiles simply select from that pool of mods as you enable them. And I would not have it any other way.
  23. Just stop on the Vortex step and move on to validating Skyrim through Steam.
  24. First of all, get Vortex and SKSE out of the picture. Open Vortex and on the Skyrim SE mod page find the Purge button. Click it and wait for finish. Uninstall SKSE. Delete the archive. Close Vortex and leave it closed until you get Skyrim working. Open Steam to the library page. Find Skyrim SE (AE). Right mouse button on Skyrim and select Properties. Select Local Files and choose Verify integrity of game files. Try running Skyrim from Steam. Report back. Also report how your game disk is formatted, and if you did an error scan.
  25. Warning: Do not mix mods from multiple mod managers (Vortex, MO 2, NMM). That way leads to madness. To OP: So you see a couple of examples of users using multiple profiles, very successfully. Good luck.
