  1. @Gorgopis I wish you the best in figuring out the mesh issue. This is where I have no way of helping since I have no use of the CK or anything windows-related software. I think Nexus has some handy tutorials about editing meshes in their tutorial section.
  2. @Gorgopis It is probably a good idea at this point to backup your Skyrim folder somewhere now that you have everything practically working correctly. Just name it Skyrimbackup or whatever you prefer to name it and zip it up.
  3. Well, the system hardware would indicate strong performance for game engines that rely on fast single core performance like Bethesda games but also has the benefit of the six cores with a large amount of cache. The company is very hit or miss though. It might be be good to research a bit more and find similar specs but from a more consistent company. I do agree with HeyYou on use of SSDs. It will likely be more advantageous to find a system with 512gb SSD as the main drive without a mechanical drive with a similar budget if that is your concern.
  4. Spiders makes some good games. Not too shabby if you consider that their studio comprises of 20 people.
  5. @Gorgopis Yes, load order matters for SkyUI, but only if you are also using other UI mods with it. The easiest way to ensure SKYUI works properly is to set a rule to have it load lower then the other UI mods you might be using. It's not a difficult thing to do. Just refer to the built in tutorial in Vortex on setting up rules.
  6. @Gorgopis, Cleaning the DLCs is relatively safe and Xedit has the autoclean tool for that. Be sure to peruse the changelogs/descriptions for possible issues when cleaning a mod. Some mods built through the CK use workarounds to a problem which may break if cleaned. Enjoy modding and I hope you have a trouble-free experience now in Skyrim. Having a lot of experience and patience means very little right now and being self-taught doesn't get you very far nowadays. Get a bachelor's degree without incurring too much debt by working some jobs while you still have the strength and youth to do so. It was a genuine pleasure having a discussion with you. I look forward to what you come up with. Take care.
  7. @Gorgopis Yep, that's normal. Ideally, you already have Steam in offline mode before you fire up your game. Once you do, the game will launch like it is suppose to. I think your professor is being a bit overzealous. Google does collect data on everyone but "hostile"? I have my doubts on that. Anyhow, my Chromebook is one of the original Acer ones so Google no longer provides updates for it but the Chrome version is 76 so it is fine for now with some extensions I use for extra security. I use mostly the Linux portion for everything so it really isn't an issue for browsing, Xedit stuff and media consumption. I just can't make mods right now using CK, and Unity which severely limits my ability to continue learning and improving. I'm taking an extended break from anything mod related to Bethesda stuff and working on my my blog, well as some minor things for Fire Emblem.
  8. @Gorgopis Sorry, I misspoke a bit about SKSE. Download it from https://skse.silverlock.org/ - not with mod manager. Follow website's instructions on what directory (should be just the base Skyrim folder, not the data directory.) it needs to be at. I was tired when responding. You also shouldn't have to manually point Vortex towards SKSE as it will automatically see it once it is in the Skyrim directory. Once SKSE is installed, goto your Skyrim folder, make a shortcut of SKSE Loader, move it to your desktop and then rename it's Skyrim. Launch Skyrim with that newly created shortcut. Is that clear enough?

    Greetings All

@gVrus Warm welcome to ya. Nexus isn't always rainbows and sunshine but then what is? :) Lots of mods for a lot of games here so peruse and enjoy. And you are not wrong, there is a lot of fantastic mods for Skyrim old and SE.
  11. @peyote Have you tried fixing it by checking file integrity on Steam?
  12. @DavidSSabb94 You actually played the worst port of Chrono Trigger. The DS version was the definitive version with some added content and improved interface. That just goes to show you how memorable the game was if you enjoyed the bad port. The game has aged very well due to its art design. It is quite amazing what Square Soft managed to squeeze into 32 mb back then.
  13. I imagine it would be. The tray isn't just made for the Alienware ALX case but for all cases using that interior blueprint.
  14. Honestly, you would have been better off using gorilla tape to secure the hard drive in place. You never want to mount a hard drive in the way you did. I think you can use these for your ALX case. https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811994070?Item=N82E16811994070&Tpk=N82E16811994070 Hope that helps.
  15. @Gorgopis No need to be anxious about it. I am not sure why some folks have such a hard time with SKSE. I've been using it ever since it was created and it has always worked perfectly fine long as you followed instructions and know its limitations. Personally, I have always launched both FO4 and Skyrim from a desktop shortcut and use a mod manager to "manage" mods. I have launched the game via Vortex and that works just fine as well if you are more comfortable with doing it that way. It is the same with when NMM was in prominent use. Instability always came from me experimenting and trying different load orders but from that you learn why things do what they do, and what not to do. 1. For me, I install the game, install mod manager, run game to create the .ini for manager to find, run mod manager to set up itself for installed game, go download SKSE using your preferred mod manager, test game using SKSE shortcut, install mods using mod manager, use LOOT as needed or with Vortex; the integrated LOOT to sort, run game via SKSE shortcut to make sure game still launches like it should, backup game, Play, rinse/repeat. At least you have HW to slow you down. I have a Chromebook and my main PC is dead. There is no reason for you to apologize. We all have RL to contend with and that is okay.
  16. Are you really going to trust a store that doesn't know how to implement a shopping cart? It was on their list of features coming in six months.
  17. @dipperdolphin Sorry to hear about your issues. Your PC should not be having these problems considering what you are running it on. I really do hope you figure out the issues. As much as I gripe about the Creation Engine and how old and poorly optimized it is, it did run on my potato quite well with a much larger mod pool then what you are using. Have you tried running it with some settings turned down? The usual suspect is shadows for performance issues. Set it to high or medium. Turning antialiasing down to 2x or turning it off completely if running at 1080p or higher resolutions could possibly help, too. Lowering draw distances from maximum can help if you are willing to sacrifice a bit as well.
  18. @Gorgopis 1. Zip the backup so that Vortex doesn't get confused by it. Use 7zip, Winzip or Winrar. 2. Having the DLCs enabled should be perfectly fine. Vortex will see those. 3. You can leave those alone. 4. I'm unsure how that should be handled as I no longer have a way of testing your problem due to my main PC being defunct. 5. Ideally, you should be launching the game via SKSEloader executable instead of launching from Steam or Vortex. Steam should be set to offline mode with cloud saving/Steam overlay also disabled. Rename the SKSE loader to Skyrim via desktop shortcut and launch the game that way. The game should run better this way. I also have the Skyrim DVD and it requires you to have a Steam account. You will unfortunately still need the game to update which is going to be a significant download at this point due to all the big patches. If you remember, the game was fairly buggy at release with the corrupt save files and whatnot. It might be worth it to leave the box unopened and simply get the game on sale digitally. You never know what an unopened Skyrim game might be worth later on down the road.
  19. @LadyMillia Ok, let me rephrase and cite the sources I'm basing my opinion around. You need to know how unfriendly it is towards modders. https://forums.unrealengine.com/unreal-engine/feedback-for-epic/114359-ue4-needs-a-more-friendly-modding-system https://steamcommunity.com/app/515180/discussions/1/1696049513778660977/ https://www.reddit.com/r/unrealengine/comments/b3tdel/modding_preexisting_games_using_ue4/ https://www.epicgames.com/unrealtournament/forums/unreal-tournament-development/ut-development-programming/9095-major-problem-with-blueprints-and-modding https://www.reddit.com/r/unrealengine/comments/3nqb91/as_a_primarily_c_programmer_unreal_engine_4_isnt/ Conan Exiles is the exception and 188 GB download and knowledge of C++/UE IDE just to mod a game is not what I would consider mod friendly. If everything could be done through blueprints, things might be slightly better but even then it has some major pitfalls. If Obsidian manages to put out a mod kit that changes this as mentioned in the article you linked, I would be happily surprised. I've tinkered with UE3/3.5/4 and it is not an easy engine to develop for unless you already have some prior experience with it. This is one of the reasons why I personally started learning Unity a while back.
  20. Have you looked at how much memory Chrome is eating up? You might want to consider using a browser like the fairly new Opera GX which allows control of CPU/memory usage.
