  1. Obsidian is part of Microsoft's first party studio so it will also be available in the Microsoft's store. I highly doubt there will be much modding for this game besides texture packs and minor alterations. Unreal Engine 4 isn't exactly known for supporting mods unless Obsidian somehow manages to release an editor for it. The game probably will have some cheat codes They were using some cheats when they were showing off the game at E3. Considering how many DLCs they put out for New Vegas, we'll probably see some DLC for this but I am gonna assume it will be primarily dependent on its success. According to Obsidian, all areas will be open unless areas are locked to the player temporarily due to story/plot reasons.
  2. @Gorgopis It sounds like you have things sorted, but since you have your game running properly, It is always a good idea to make a manual backup of your Skyrim folder in the case you install something that breaks things. Vortex should work as intended as long as you don't install items into the Program/program x86 files folder as before.
  3. @icestormng Yep, biggest culprit of CPU hogging belongs to Denuvo. The game industry is so paranoid of piracy that they forgot what actually gets consumers to buy games. A good game. Or in the case of GOG, a good service that offers fair prices with no DRM and genuinely is trying to make the gaming experiences better. As for XMP memory use, AMD iGPUs make excellent use of it. I built a AMD A8 - 7600 iGPU machine a long while back that utilized XMP memory very well. The AMD integrated Radeon R7 absolutely crushed 720P gaming with it. Modern AMD architecture overall is built around fast memory while Intel doesn't really rely on it since they have always preferred raw CPU speeds. Intel = Brute force VS AMD = Smarter and more efficient architecture.
  4. @mudran I think it is all a matter of perspective and individual preferences on what is actually immersive. I personally don't feel the first person perspective to be exclusively the most immersive. some of the most immersive games have some things in common. A good story to tell , a rich setting full of history and/ or a role to play that is interesting to fill. Witcher 3, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and Knights of the Old Republic RPG comes to mind.
  5. @icestormng Yeah, SLI really didn't get a whole lot of traction and caused issues. But then again, Crossfire had similar issues. XMP was the cause? Weird that it would cause such a major problem. Glad that your issue is resolved.
  6. @icestormng Is the Asus RTX 2080Ti a new acquisition? Does this card have a factory overclock? Is it possible the Creation engine is having fits because of it while other titles are working fine due to it not using said engine?
  7. @zixi Congrats on getting everything to work. I dual boot Ubuntu Linux on my Chromebook so hardware plays a large factor on what version of Linux works best. I use a variety of emulators that don't play very well with Linux versions above 16.04 and performance also becomes a issue with later variants. If you have no plans in that regard, it is probably a good thing you are using version 19. Let me know how it goes with your other games using Proton. Compatibility is looking very promising these days.
  8. @Gorgopis You might want to contact your University's admin if you are dealing with your school's VPN. It is possible that certain ports are being blocked. Congrats on your first PC build. Learning through trial and error is the best way to get better at building them. Everyone laughed at me when I used a saw to cut a window into a side panel and fitted it with Plexiglass from Lowes. I jury rigged a small light bar so one could look inside and see the CPU fan spinning. This was 18 years ago. Look at the computer market now? So, never stop experimenting and evolving. Do as HTR recommends and clean install everything to D drive so the registry correctly points to your games and programs. It may be an arduious procedure but well worth the effort to get things running trouble-free. As for Steam, It's going to be around for quite sometime. I've been using it for over 15 years and I don't see it dying anytime soon. You may want to consider getting many of your games as you can from GOG since they are DRM free and you can backup what you have purchased on alternate media for safe keeping. GOG even has a functionality where some of your steam library can be moved over to It. Best regards and a toast to your very positive future, tekmage
  9. If you are trying to keep organized and stay away from issues resulting from installing into the program files folder, just create a folder called Games on your main drive and put your steam and GOG/Origin in there as well. So your steam games folder would be under C:/Games/Steam/Steamapps/Common/ for example. Or in your case SKSE would go under C:/Games/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Skyrim/.
  10. @HadToRegister Vortex and Nexus worked perfectly fine with VPN. I use ProtonVPN so maybe the VPN the OP is using is causing issues. P.S. Windscribe VPN worked fine before as well.
  11. @zixi Ubuntu works well for Steam on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. The later versions are really flaky for some reason. Unsure as to why. You won't need wine if you are using Proton for Steam.
  12. Well, the only ones that seem to have any progress at all has been Fallout Cascadia, the FO4 New Vegas Project, and FO4 Capital Wasteland. Everything else looks like very early stages or just started to ramp up like Fallout Miami. I do truly appreciate the ambition of some of these projects. I would actually like to see one release before I'm no longer here.
  13. Oops, I read it as FO4 for some reason. My apologies, Op. @DoctorKaizeld Thanks for pointing it out.
  14. Wrong forum. Content removed. Edit: Sorry about that. I saw it as FO4 for some reason.
  15. @Rymeer The easiest way to get that on here is to use LOOT and cut/paste it here or do it from your mod manager by printscreening it, etc.
  16. There was a post three years ago about it and radio silence since then. It is likely dead.
  17. That's good to hear. The program works well for the majority of games, well as being useful for desktop usage. Enjoy.
  18. You know you can use Google translate to give the non-Finnish users a chance to get a broad general understanding of what your post is. Rough Translation: The Discord channel "Modular Angle" is designed for people who are interested in modifying games or creating / developing mods (eg Fallout, Skyrim, Sims, etc). It's a free and community channel for everyone, no matter what their age, gender, or whatever. The purpose is to help with issues such as problems, installation, etc., or otherwise discuss only mods such as new mods, updates, and so on. We can share advice and, for example, screenshots of each other on our mods. The channel is still a new and growing small community so just feel free to join in if the interest arose even for a short while. In particular, I myself am interested in modding Bethesda games and practiced for many years. Welcome aboard!
  19. @HeyYou CBS commercials have more entertainment value then the actual shows at this point. I liked Elementary and Seal Team but I can't recall anything else even worth watching on that network.
  20. @1ae0bfb8 Ok, I was trying to figure out how someone would still be using 1.3.22.0 which was put out back in 2016 and how it would be more stable then current release.
  21. I'm actually shocked CBS is still trying to tout CBS All Access as a good thing. Forcing Star Trek fans to pay extra for a service that is composed of a handful of watchable content feels pretty greedy and short-sided especially considering how bad Discovery is. Watch Orville instead. At least that show carries the spirit of Star Trek.
