Sorry and thanks for the clarification. Been a while since I used FNIS... No worries

You can try enabling papayrus logging but TBH, it really isn't all that useful for troubleshooting CTDs. If you think it's one of your followers and you don't want to try disabling them to troubleshoot (understandable) try this: Load up your game and then open the console. Type in: save funclist 1 Your game will temporarily freeze - if you have a lot of mods installled, it might take a minute or two - and then a text file should open up. Use CTRL+F and type in the name of the follower(s) you are looking for, keeping in mind they will have more than one entry in the file, the entry you are looking for is usually the second listing. In the far left column their RefID will be listed, then their name. Make a note of that, then go back into your game (it should still be open) and use the prid and moveto player commands to move them outside of the house. Make them wait, then, try and go in and see if the game still crashes or not. I tried to insert a picture of what the file looks like, but the nexus won't let me. Lemme know if you have any other questions.

How To Get Status via Console: Essential or Non-essential?
saurusmaximus replied to nt5raham's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Because Bethesda? I honestly don't know, I just know that's how it works. -
The creature and spell packs are seperate downloads on the FNIS main page, and the download links work for both (I just tried).

How To Get Status via Console: Essential or Non-essential?
saurusmaximus replied to nt5raham's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
To check whether an NPC is essential to begin with, select him/her in the console (so that the ref ID appears), and enter IsEssential - if the console returns "1.00", the NPC is essential -
Do you have a stand-alone video card installed? I could see this happening if the system is set up to share a portion of the system memory for VRAM. I don't know how you are checking your memory usage but, I've used this tool in the past to see exactly what resources are being used where. The only other thing I can think of is if you have some, weird memory patch installed that is setting a hard limit on memory usage.

Followers can kill protected NPCs
saurusmaximus replied to hurricanevu's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
In theory, Protected NPCs are only supposed to be able to be killed by the player; in practice though, they can be killed by anybody. It's one of those bugs that really never got sorted out. -
The only thing I'm aware of was the Void Race, but the mod author has hidden it.

Glad you got it figured out. Thanks! You as well.

I'm not a texture expert either, but wrinkles are done via normal maps (the files that have "msn" in their filenames), which get laid over the base textures. The only thing I can suggest is going into a skin-replacer mod, finding the folder for "old" people, and opening the normal map file and see if you can figure out what was done. Beyond that, I got nothin'.

When you disabled all of your mods, did you still try and launch Skyrim through your mod manager? If so, try launching Skyrim directly from it's install location. Once you get to the main menu, go into the console and type: coc riverwood so you skip the cart ride intro and see if your arms are still missing. Does this happen with both male and female characters? Also, which mod manager are you using?

You have a mod hanging things up, either because it is conflicting with another mod, or it alters something that the game uses to start (usually only happens on new saves, i.e.; a mod that modifies Helgen). If LOOT isn't throwing any compatibility errors, the only way to narrow it down is to start disabling mods until the game starts, then figure out why that particular mod is causing problems.

In skyrim.ini under Grass: bAllowCreateGrass=1 <-Obvious what this one does, make sure it's set to 1 iGrassCellRadius=2 <-Default value is 2, so if it isn't in your .ini file already don't worry about it, unless you have messed with your uGridstoload setting. If it is listed, the value should be: (ugridstoload-1)/2. iMinGrassSize=any number between 1 and 999, though the default is 20. Source

You made changes to some mods and you need to figure out what mods those folders are for and then drag them to the appropriate mod in your left pane. SKSE should be obvious. The meshes, textures, scripts and tools folder tells me you ran something like FNIS, is that correct? If so, try watching this.

CK, the original. Where can I get it?
saurusmaximus replied to antstubell's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
It's on Steam. -
I'm just going to say, I really don't recommend running this way. Installing and running mods directly from your Data folder like that will eventually come back to bite you because you have no way of controlling overwrites and sooner or later you are going to end up with a corrupted Data folder and a broken game. Use a mod manager like Vortex or MO. My 2 cents, take it as you will. That being said, where is Skyrim installed on your hard drive? If it's in the default, ProgramFiles(x86) location, it's possible you have a permissions issue and windows isn't letting you write files into your Data folder while Skyrim is running. Also, check to make sure your AV isn't blocking skyrim or skse.

Mod organiser killed my game and now I can't launch Skyrim.

Have you tried reinstalling your Visual C++ redistributals? Where is your MO install located? If it's in someplace like C:Program Files, move your install to a new location. I made a folder called "Games" on my harddrive and put my install there. Try whitelisting MO with your AV to make sure it isn't flagging the program as a virus for some reason. -
Put simply, ENB will affect how textures appear on screen, and a mod author can manipulate the various values in the ENB files to affect how 'light ' interacts with those textures, which controls things like (among other things) coloring, sharpness and shadows. Which is why some presets give a softer, more muted look, and others are so sharp that you can practically count every pore on someone's face.

You just learned a valuable lesson: always make a backup of your load order  Did it uncheck mods in both panes or just on the right? No red triangles in the right pane telling you about a missing master? Is your son's load order radically different from yours, or could you copy his and use it as a starting point? Unfortunately, the easiest way to figure this out is to disable about half of your mods - making sure to uncheck any mods that get flagged for missing masters because of it - and see if the game will start. If it doesn't, split the remaining bunch in half again and retry until it does. Once you get it started, start working backwards by adding one mod at a time until you replicate the problem, then it's just figuring out why that particular mod is hanging you up. Also, make sure you check to see what conflicts are being overwritten in the left pane, so you aren't doing something like loading a patch before a mod it depends on. -
Just watch this.

You do know you don't need to use the mining animations, right? Just equip a pickaxe and whack the ore vein in the same way you would whale on a bandit with a sword. It's faster that way too. Bonus points if you dual wield pickaxes while using Elemental Fury.

Followers Get Stuck Outside Hjerim
saurusmaximus replied to Wolfpack49's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Usually, if a follower won't go past a certain point, it's because of a broken navmesh. Have you checked the Open Cities mod page to see if this is a known issue with that mod?
