  1. Yep, really annoying isn't it. Constantly reloading the game when I blast off a whole clip only to have it hit the wall I'm peaking from behind then get killed by whomever I was shooting at... :wallbash:
  2. I gave this some more thought. I think it's actually the RPG element of the game, since hitting the torso does more damage it's supposed to be harder, and the limbs easier since they do less damage. Unfortunate loss of detail for the sake of balancing difficulty.
  3. At this time there are no available DLCs for Fallout: New Vegas for PC. That's going to change in a couple days though, so be sure to buy the PC version of the DLC. It should come with install directions from Steam and be self setting up.
  4. The reason it isn't/won't be done at this point in time is that the vast amount of interior cells existing in a game such as Oblivion and now Skyrim would require too many exterior "facades" to create the illusion of outside objects. We are talking about double or triple the size of all interior cell sizes. That means much greater loading times, double or triple the rendered lights, polygons, shadows and textures and of course the extra time which it would take to make all this... about double or triple the time for each cell. It's not just the computing power it would take, it's the man power too. Alternatively the devs could make each interior cell part of the exterior game world, thus no transitions or loading times. However, this would result in much greater strain on your computer while inside and outside without any more benefit other than being able to see outside windows and having no load times. It's much better to have load times and greater performance. It would also most likely lead to reduced interior detail... A linear game, where the player goes down one set path could do this easily. A game like Skyrim can't since it's an open world.
  5. But keep in mind you still have to download the file and wait however long. I think its a few hours before you can rate it. Then they would still have to wait through the download ad video... So there really can't be ratings faeries since they would have to go through all that just to give a bogus endorsement. If anything it would just get more people to remember and have incentive to endorse.
  6. O.o Zald I don't know what desks you're crawlin under to make that kinda cash but it would take me busting my A to bring in 4-5 grand all summer. Heck if I could have made that much in the 3 months of summer I wouldn't have went back to school come fall... :P
  7. Drunkengamer and a minor... >.> lol Anyways, why not get a summer job. For your birthday or Christmas as for pc components like a video card or processor. Then flesh out the rest of the rig with the money you save. If you need some help with the build just ask and we can give suggestions. :)
  8. Hurrdurr, to counter your point, what you say would be valid were we discussing game mechanics ie shooting, HP, etc. That's another topic. This is in regards to setting, storyline, backdrop and immersion. Having the game be more realistic and thus immersive, in line with a sim, does nothing to edit the reward, punishment relationship with the gamer. It is simply a visual and narrative aesthetic. Nothing in that capacity should impact the market negatively. In fact a more believable and realistic plot and atmosphere is exactly what would draw more CoD, modern warfare, tom clancy fans.
  9. You need archiveinvalidated invalidated.
  10. And since there's a kit we can start fixing bugs at launch too! I could see waiting if there was no kit available... (I play in a metal band, opening up for cradle of filth next weekend :D )
  11. Had a thought, maybe rating should add to your AP, so people have more incentive to rate files they download, or articles they read. I see the tracker keeps tabs on how many things you have rated, but that number seems to be pointless right now.
  12. I'll just do what I did with Oblivion, Buy the game, play it a ton, move, lose the disk then have to buy the GOTY edition. No way am I waiting months and months after it comes out. The only thing that will keep me from getting as soon as it's available is if I have a ton of concerts I'm playing or I've found another job.
  13. This seems to be a matter of mixed opinion. I for one think the videos are far better than the pop unders or pop ups. It's a lot easier to deal with an ad when you are expecting it and know your going to be waiting, than being suddenly surprised by some annoying thing. Also keep in mind that a lot of people visiting the nexus don't have ad blocking or pop up blocks turned on. So the pop ups and pop unders reflected poorly on the site, making it look unprofessional and like a malware breeding ground. There was a time, I'm sure you remember, that The Nexus was blacklisted by Google. I didn't visit for quite a while, things like this and pop unders will push people away. At least a video looks professional, doesn't present fear of viruses and is expected.
  14. I really wish the game could use hit boxing with body armor and make the torso easier to hit but have the DT/DR function greater there, and thus weapons being more effective but harder to hit on limps.
  15. Depending on the type of detonation a full fledged nuke may not leave a very large crater at all. You could have a surface burst which would create a massive crater, exploding just at ground level. A subsurface burst however is most likely considering the likely subterranean complex existing below the White House. Such an explosion would leave little crater since much of the mass collapses it's self back into the explosion. Or it could be an air burst which leaves very little crater at all but makes the well known huge mushroom cloud, and a fire ball which clears all surface material away.
  16. The Lusty Argonian Maid, best TES book ever. I'm hoping Act V makes an appearance in Skyrim.
  17. The trees just look amazing. I think the largest steps forward, graphics wise are the realism in the trees, the overall proportion and aesthetic of humanoid models and the dynamic shows. The shadows alone have me wanting to play this game right away. So few games utilize dynamic light casting and it makes a HUGE different in atmosphere.
  18. Thanks Jim Anyone know of a Flash enabled smart phone with a decent browser that ISN'T touchscreen keyboard? You would think after 2 years I would be used to it but honestly it is just more frustrating than anything.
  19. Did you press the ~ again after opening the menu? Btw, don't use Showrace menu, use Showbarbermenu and Showplasticsurgeonmenu instead so you don't screw up your perks.
  20. Only if you're not the only person who uses the computer and the other people using the computer are ones who you don't trust or they don't know what they're doing. UAC is User Account Control. It's just a series of securities and permissions settings that you can adjust to allow or deny users access to make changes to the computer, such as installing new programs. I've heard that many games are having issues with UAC. Yeah I'm the only person who uses it. How do you disable it? I thought though that the benifit was if malware installs it's self it has to ask before altering files on your pc, in which case you can say no.
  21. I don't like the trailer. It's evident they are just using shock value of the kid and violence to get people's attention. Dead give away in my opinion that it's going to be a lot of hype for not much game. That and I would really prefer it if media didn't have to resort to kids dieing just to get the market's attention. It's a topic I don't much care for and it seems really cheap.
  22. Nice. I just wish there was more which could be done about it on the PC. Hackers have ruined some of my favorite games, like Combat Arms.
  23. Also check out Enhanced Shaders, or Dynavision, or mods like that.
  24. @Darth , Well I know that hair is included in Lings. Not sure who originally made it or where it comes from.
  25. Evil I was trying to read your post but all I could see was WHHAAAAAAAA! :yucky: If Bethesda sucks so much why are you registered and posting on a fan forum created for their games? Nothing you say is going to get Bethesda to notice "oh snap some kid on a forum doesn't like it, stop the presses!!". If you really hate it that much, move along, these aren't the droids (game) your looking for.
