  1. I never played any other elder-scrolls game and know in the Oblivion they called them septims because in the walk-through I watched the kings name was something septum I actually want to try out oblivion, anybody know a good set of graphic mods to make it look somewhat like skyrim, and also play like it. I just don't get the leveling system! Skyrim's is so easy (And SkyRe) Also no dual wielding! I love spell-blade! This is going off-topic but I hope there's a mod for that. I'm not really an RP dude but Septim did add to my game experience a bit. Wonder what mod it could've been :o
  2. Apparently one of my mods changed the name of gold to Septim and I don't seem to mind. I actually like it better to some extent. What do you guys prefer?
  3. After having done both, personally, I prefer the Dawnguard side. I get the ability to craft+enchant crossbows with SkyRe + Complete Crafting Overhaul + Crossbows overhauled + more crossbows, vampires seem more fun - I'll try dawnguard on another playthrough even though vampire lord is awesome sauce
  4. Since I use MO's default "sort" system built in (which is loot [an older version]) that is what I use, but the list of mods gets updated. Works fine for over 100 mods and stable, takes seconds too.
  5. If it's the same GPU chip (GTX760 in this case) get a 4gb model of course. The chip will be the same throughout all brands, so of course more memory = better, especially in skyrim AND mods. All those textures and such. 4GB card mane.
  6. Topic ^ Say +50 hp on chest - Do I get that in vampire lord form?
  7. Hearthfire does something! I thought it was just a part of legendary edition that's a nice icon and letter in my inventory to go to a museum! Hearthfire should be free to be honest, the texture pack from steam is free and sure does more to the game than Hearthfire. There are mods out there that do way more than Hearthfire -- Hearthfire being free would help some console users get back in the game, and buy the other DLCs after playing again. Random: I always had the idea that next gen (ps4,xb1) would support skyrim + atleast steam workshop mods -- but ofcourse not Note: I don't like nor play on consoles, just feel they deserve some love!
  8. I save constantly while playing ( In combat, after doing something, etc), and after my session I leave the last 3 saves. Usually I get 3gb in saves after 1 session. It takes 3 seconds to delete them, but I possibly save way more than you guys so idk, I don't want to randomly die and have to redo a ton of content. (Save after every mob, save before opening every door, etc)
  9. Also at the moment, 4k monitors have a high MS and expensive as hell so for gaming they're not worth it whatsoever. It'll be years until 4k is a consumer standard for gaming.
  10. I just got the Morpheus font mod for skyrim and it's small! In SkyUI I changed the Font Size too "Large" so that helped with anything that works for SkyUI but everything else is still small :/ Is there something in the .ini that can help change my font size? Thank you!
  11. I don't know what FNIS is, don't use it. I have all the requirements and the DSR patch is patched after every new mod, and always at the end of my load order.
  12. Requiem is totally different, it's basically a 1 off mod (some mods can be installed along with it, but not a lot of gameplay changes) -- basically makes combat "realistic" and the game focus on RP. SkyRe > SPERG In my opinion (experience), SkyRe redoes skyrim's perks and combat system and makes them awesome, balanced, and FUN! ACE I have not tried out but you're the first person to talk down on SkyRe :o Crafting overhaul is a cool mod (Has compatibility with skyre) Immersive Weapons + Armours are also a good one. Two Rings should be an option too, I find it balanced. Enchanting freedom makes enchanting awesome. There is another mod that is an awesome quality of life change to soul gems. If you capture a soul, it will go to the proper soul gem (petty to better, grand to grand), if you try to capture a grand soul and don't have a grand soul gem it will just say "failed to capture soul", if you try to capture a petty soul and kill a grand soul monster it will also say failed. basically it helps you not accidentally screw up your soul gems! Apocalyptic Spells Helgen Reborn for more quests if I didn't mention it already. Just some must have mods for me.
  13. Well Esc -> new save takes under two seconds. When I say autosave I mean on dungeon entrance, on room entrance, you'll do so much things before your progress will be saved. I know when you want to do a clean mod removal or upgrade you always do a normal save (Remove mod, save, load game, save, install mod, save, load game and you're set!) Authors asking to do something along the lines of that means save > autosave for some reason. Thing is I don't want to kill my drive by writing saves and deleting them constantly. While writing this post I deleted 2gb in save files, 200 saves (Divided by 2 because of the .skse file) and that's from one game session of about a few hours. 12mb per save -- samsung 840 evo sata 3 line; don't wanna kill it. You need to understand that an SSD has a MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) that is in the decades... the reliability factor is so superior to HDD Drives fail for two reasons shorting out... or other component failure. They continue to read after failure. SSD it is ^_^ On a different note, is it worth touching my save file with a script "cleaner", it's fine that it's 12MB. Unless nothing goes wrong with the same and everything is fine, just "junk" removed that's fine (and automatically not manually) -- but if it is 1) manual 2) "screws things up" the filesize is not a big deal.
  14. SkyRe is a must by default, it makes the game and combat less stale. If anything make disabling SkyRe an advanced option for people who know what they're doing. Also in the "Advanced section", mods that are 100% no matter what -- add the Unofficial skyrim, dawnguard, etc patch. As for questions: Do you want good graphics? add the 2k resolution pack Do you want the game to be more realistic? Do you want to add needs and diseases? Do you want more quests? Pick which quest lines you'd like to add: [checkbox] Helgen Reborn [checkbox] Lich [checkbox] Etc Some ideas.
  15. My DSR Experiences = My shield is a skateboard ( Yes I use the jar patcher and make my own mod and enable in within MO)

  17. My personal view is that you can keep MO... I use NMM and nothing else... I have 220 mods in place currently I don't use LOOT Or BOSS.. or Wrye Bash TESV Edit and that is it... I can play for hours and never CTD. I test new mods and they are adjusted until stable or removed.. My mod list is very stable.. I install NMM, login, and never open it again. Even though MO also logs into your Nexus account; I thought having nexus installed is a requirement.
  18. What if say you bought an SSD and before NMM and Mod Organizer was in c:\games\Mod Organizer and c:\games\nexus and skyrim was in c:\program files 86\default steam folder\default skyim directory here > Would you need to delete the Mod Organizer INI? The windows install is going to be fresh, the old hard drive will be "B:" and the SSD will be the OS hard drive "C:" so after downloading steam, installing skyrim, SKSE -- would just copying the MO and NMM folder work?
  19. I have yet to figure out what this hearthfire DLC "does". I know what the other two do because it's obvious -- but hearthfire has always been a letter sitting in my inventory.
  20. I save a lot because well it's progress. I still have autosave active, I just don't rely on it aka When I enter a dungeon and it autosaves, and say I die, I'm back in the beginning of the dungeon because that was the last save. I'm fighting two strong mobs, I die, I'm back at the face of the mobs and figure out 100 different tactics and combos until they die, kill one small mob with 5% HP; save and figure out a way to get my HP back, save, and then fight the mob until it dies. Basically I save because I don't like having to go through the dungeon all over again on death. I'm not playing hardcore diablo. The point of this topic mainly is to keep the saves on a SSD or HDD, performance wise.
  21. I'm also a heavy modder, but I make sure the game is balanced -- no light sabers or techno blasters ^_^ I'll put spoiler tags below, no real spoilers but just in case!
  22. SkyRe beats SPERG ( Used both, SkyRe FTW ) -- Compatible with ALL mods, some mods work better with a simple compatibility patch that is GLOBAL ( Compatibility path for all mods that might have SLIGHT issues with SkyRe) I've played SkyRe using mods that "require" a patch without the patch for a while and never had any issues -- the patch just smooths things out. Also as I said this is just combat, you are free to modify the game visually or role play wise any way you choose. Requium is like a big mod that makes the game focus on RP the way the AUTHOR wanted to play it. Not saying it's a bad mod, but we all want to do different things. With Reqium, your limited to mods you can use -- even with "patches" Just as the guy above me said, dragons are hard -- this game is trying to make things "realistic", no level 3 dragons -- and the wolves instakill you ( they actually go into detail about that in the youtube preview) 1) SkyRe is a must for me, it's just awesome. I also get the optional "Unofficial skyre patch" (Like the unofficial skyrim patches but for SkyRe ) 2) Unless you like how Reqium plays and don't plan on heavy modding ontop of it, go with SkyRe + Many other mods to sculpt the game to your liking -- that's what mods are about; play the game how YOU want to play! ( SkyRe > SPERG -- trust me, SPERG is well crappy in comparison to skyre but that's my experience and opinion) * Remember to properly sort your mods! If (hopefully) using mod organizer click "sort" (built in loot) or if not; download the latest LOOT from github and sort your mods! This is probably the most important step when it comes to modding. Before these tools it was a pain manually doing it, now at a click of a button we're mostly crash free! Now go dovakin, yell some bad words at some dragons!
  23. Should I store my save files that skyrim generates on a SSD or my regular storage HDD? I'm a save junky and after about an hour of paying have 2gb worth of save files to delete ( I keep the last 3 ) My saves are about 11mb each at the moment; skyrim itself and MO with mods lives inside the SSD -- but do save files being there make a HUGE difference? A bit about my saving habbits: Save after walking a bit, save before I see enemies, save after I kill one enemy, save after combat -- save during combat if I ran away and got my healing spells out; save after I open a door, save after I save. No I don't trust quicksaves! So what do you guys think? I personally feel writing the amount of information (the saves) and "deleting" them so frequently on an SSD is not worth wasting it's "write limit" and 11mb [ A lot of junk scripts, but I'm scared to touch my save file, rather the junk scrips be there than screw something up] is not that much to read/write on my HDD compared to the actual game and mods. Also what are your save habits? Do you guys go a whole dungeon relying on autosaves? Discuss my friends!
