  1. It's still pretty close to what you're talking about, though albeit, I do wish the dynamicity of those events were more widespread with larger areas covered. Still there are huge portions of the area that are occuppied by centaurs until you clean them out. What you're talking about is probably only to come from a player vs player environment like EVE is. THough if AI could do it, it would be cool.
  2. Unless I missed a major part of the game, no, it doesn't. GW2 has small dynamic events that don't impact anything outside of their immediate area. I'm essentially talking about a living ecosystem that reacts to the playerbase's actions. GW2 contains no large-scale choice or consequence and the dynamic event system relies entirely on timers, not player actions. You must've missed several parts of the game then. There are several sections in places where what you stated exactly happens, and it happens to be with Centaurs to boot!
  3. Doesn't that already happen in GW2? I thought you said you didn't like that game.
  4. I'm a fan of giant swords too. I'd offer up my giant sword (v1 or v2) mod, but I don't think you'll like the blade width if you like Monster Hunter-type blades.
  5. Agreed, the mechanics are just in a broken state right now. It's an okay game and has potential, but it definately doesn't shine as brightly as GW2 does right now. BUT, the game is still in beta, so hopefully, they'll fix the mechanic problems before official release.
  6. I'm generally not a fan of MMOs, but I would have bought ESO. Even so, I was slightly skeptical about it because I didn't trust what an online Elder Scrolls game would do to the franchise, but I still reckoned I would give it a go. Then they wrecked it all by giving everyone the impression that it was a generic MMORPG, except it was based in the Elder Scrolls universe. It looks like they've listened to the criticism about the graphics and made it look more like a half-way point between Oblivion and Skyrim instead of the bright, gaudy appearance of many other MMOs. The gameplay footage showing first person also sparked my internet enough to sign up for the beta testing. Dunno if I'll still buy it though - sticking with GW2 for the moment because that doesn't require monthly subscription fees. Yeah, that's a good thing as the graphics were sorta bad weren't they. I'll have to check out the 1st person footage. Hopefully it isn't like the generic fake ones that just shows a close up view and you see nothing else of your body, even when swinging weapons or spellcasting. First person view was one of the things that made the ES series so unique. It's a defining characteristic of it. I'm a little anxious about ESO myself. The lead were the ones involved in DAoC, which was a phenominal MMO (it's still going I believe too), and a lot of people are claiming it's going to be just DAoC2 with the ES label on it. But honestly, that's not a bad thing. I especially hope the sneak skills are the like the stealth skills of the same game.
  7. Lanceor pretty much nailed it. I'd just like to add to make sure you open up the two handed version and not the one handed if you still are wanting the one handed version to have it.
  8. This looks pretty good!
  9. @Zewp, I have no idea what game you're talking about, but it isn't GW2.
  10. Real life hardly always has a happy ending. The end of a movie or game isn't the same as the end of someone's life. If it was, then everyone would die at the end of every single movie or game. And when everyone does eventually end up on their death bed, it would be a lot better to remember the joyous times you've had in your life, rather than to look on sombrely towards your approaching death. In this way, real life can have a happy ending. Wow, you're going morbid there. I don't necessarily mean death. There are many "stories" in a person's life, some happy, some sad. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting the message you're trying to get across. That seems to happen a lot. But what I'm saying is real life isn't sad. A movie isn't super realistic by being sad. Real life has all kinds of emotional moments, good and bad. Movies that have the same are good, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they need to have a sad ending. It's a trend in a lot of recent video games that is annoying me. Most MA15+ games that have come out in the last few years have had a sad ending, and I don't know why they do that. All a sad ending accomplished is making me feel like s***. But why make sad endings then? Is it because the developers think that sad endings are more realistic? If so, they are fools because I'm almost never sad with my life. Sad = real life? I don't think so. Is it because they feel sad endings inflict stronger emotions upon us? If so, then they are simply a bunch of pricks. ;D I completely, 100%, absolutely, positively, whole heartedly agree with pretty much everything you said there. ;D Well, except with the almost never sad part, I've had several sad moments in mine. Actually, I'm not sure what I was trying to say now. I think I was saying that life isn't always happy or something.
  11. I have Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii. I liked it up until the point where you had to start grinding. And the grind is pretty serious for a casual player like me.
  12. I could easily debate this with you and counter all but one or two of the issues (the loot issue) to your points, but I won't. I will sum up what I can say to what you said in one phrase though: The game is obviously not for you and is not something you were expecting.
  13. I know you said single player, but I'd consider taking up Guild Wars2. You can pretty much solo a lot of it or just ignore other people.

  15. K Rebuilt and the one made by the-unmentionable-modder-who's-name-starts-with-a-G (I can't remember the name of the mod) are both good and the best from what I understand. The later though has a better city in terms of functionality I've heard, but there's also been discussions about mod conflicts with various other mods. There's also been refuting arguments to that as well. As mentioned by shinobi2008, K Rebuilt is still being actively worked on and also has an underground part to the city. I also hope the update coming out makes it a sealed deal and makes the city just as functional as the other or even better.
  16. In America maybe, I was recently talked out of a PC upgrade by staff at my local Scorpion store, who tried to talk me into buying something cheaper because "it'd not really make any appreciable difference" What I meant was the big chain stores that want you to be a member for a price for further discounts. What you said though is a mark of a good business ethic. There's still a lot of stores that do that too.
  17. Real life hardly always has a happy ending.
  18. Seems like nowadays all stores try to ram that crap down your throat. It's everywhere! If I wanted something like that, I'd ask for it.
  19. I never had an issue with Gamestop, both in store and online. Guess it's a matter of different experiences with different people. /shrug
  20. Before you get too far into your project, have you looked into the Better Dungeons mod? http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/40392
  21. I'm honestly not quite sure what the issue with my post is? ... Lisnpuppy's response was aimed at lonewolf_kai's post and not yours. I think it was aimed at both of us. Her telling him not to make smart arse comments and telling me not to respond with smart arse comments. That's the way I took it. Either way, it both applies. :D Anyways, I've never had a problem with Newegg either. I built a PC from scratch just last year as well. I did have a harddrive problem, but it was the manufacturer's problem, not Neweggs. However, Newegg replaced it regardless. The only thing I had to pay for was fast shipping. They were going to pay for the shipping otherwise.
  22. Happy endings tend to be cliche, and expected a lot in whatever media you chose. That's why writers often seek sad endings. It's an easy way out imo becaus of that. It shocks the reader/watcher/player because of their cliche'd happy ending expectance that we all get when growing up. However, even sad endings are becoming cliche. You can often predict what direction a sad story is going to now. To me, the greater success of a writer is to end a story without the cliches. IMO, the greatest success of these challenges is a happy ending that you weren't expecting in the end. If you can pull that off, then you are a true word-artist.
  23. Generally speaking, sometimes sad endings can have a profound positive effect on your outlook on life.
