LE Don't set anything on fire!
mojodajojo replied to mojodajojo's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
I've started a new game and yet again I have this same bug. My character has cast a fire spell like 2 times to light oil patches on fire. Other than that she uses a 1 hand weapon almost all the time (other than a little bow sniping to soften em up.) Despite the fact that archery and 1 handers are both higher all they ever mention is fire. Edit: I may have to give that mod a shot, ScarabMonkey. I'm way too lazy to go through all the dialogue to fix this, but it's driving me nuts :) -
Why does Lydia keep wearing "Hevnoraak", even though she DOESN
mojodajojo replied to shuriken88's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Could try taking valuables off her then open console click on her and type kill then do a resurrect then do a removeallitems Killing and resurrecting her should reset her, and then the removeallitems will get rid of that annoying followers bow and ammo if nothing else. -
I see they have quite a bit of my stuff on their site. Guess I better "claim" my account and see that they haven't uploaded any of my stuff that requires permissions from others. (Or any of the stuff I made after I started requesting stuff not be uploaded off TESNexus sites.)

That's what I was guessing. So I turned everything off that I could in the background and tried just doing 1 single texture out of the .BSA and still got that error. So either the error message is erroneous or the amount of memory it takes to get one texture out of the BSA is the same as extracting the whole thing.

LE Don't set anything on fire!
mojodajojo replied to mojodajojo's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Heh, Oblivion had a similar bug. Hopefully someone will make a mod to remove all these comments before I get annoyed enough to do it. -
I get that same outofmemoryexception error when trying to extract the textures BSA with the mod manager :( I was able to extract the sound one fine, though.

Every NPC I come across tell's me something or another about not setting things on fire. This would make a lot more sense if I had ever cast the flames spell a single time, or if I had a fire damage weapon equipped. Do they make comments based on what weapons your companion is using ? Because Lydia does indeed have a fire weapon equipped in one of her hands. I'm so tired of hearing about setting things on fire I'm about to mod that line out of the game :) Edit: I meant to post this in a different forum; though I suppose it's sort of mod related since I'm this moment looking through dialogue to find some of these annoying fire lines I keep hearing.

LE Shop Keepers on strike?
mojodajojo replied to IgnacyOrder's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
I've found that If I so much as move an eye choice or slide a color tint bar in the editor ID I have to control + F4 that npc, or I'll get the black face bug. -
http://www.creationkit.com/Creating_a_Merchant Make sure you add the JobMerchantFaction, but don't change it's base form. And make sure the new faction you add has a schedule set.

I know Lydia uses FemaleEvenToned so that for sure should work out of the female voice sets.
-
You can also scroll down the actor forms to HousecarlWhiterun and look at Lydia or one of the others to get a bit of an idea on how to set up your npc.

http://www.creationkit.com/Creating_a_Companion I think you have faction ranks for potential and current backwards.

LE Morality changes in CK have no effect in game
mojodajojo replied to kryptopyr's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
If you are playing a game that was already in progress, you may need to kill and then resurrect the actor through the console for some changes to the base form to take effect. If you start a new game, the changes, however, should already be there. -
First of all: I enjoy Skyrim immensely. I think I planned on disliking it somewhere deep down. I knew it was gonna be streamlined, and yes the rpg elements are dumbed down way too much for my tastes. However, it's still fun as hell. I enjoy it a lot more than Oblivion. It's not Morrowind but I feel like I'm in a world instead of playing a game. I had that in Morrowind and I've missed it. Also, I love melee combat in Skyrim; It's engaging without making my little brain cell hurt too much. What would I change about Skyrim? 1. I miss spellmaking. (Morrowind & Oblivion) 2. I miss paying off my bounty through the thieve's guild. (Morrowind & Oblivion) 3. I miss acrobatics. (Morrowind & Oblivion) 4. I miss real time lockpicking. (Morrowind) 5. I miss weapon/armor repair. (Morrowind & Oblivion.) On a sidenote: I'm surprised at RedRayvn's opinion of the Creation Kit. I pretty much buy Bethesda games for their dev. kits. They are absolutely amazing, and I entertained myself with Oblivion almost solely by using the Construction Kit.

LE Delete a script under Papyrus Manager?
mojodajojo posted a topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
I just got Skyrim recently, and I'm sure I'm missing something obvious; but how do I delete a script I've created from the Papyrus Script Manager under the Gameplay button? -
spoiler Anyone think Daveth should of lived?
mojodajojo replied to ninjafish's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
Origins could definitely use another rogue companion. -
Ok, I just felt the need to ramble on about this even though I'm sure it's a horse that's already been mercilessly beat upon. I recently acquired Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition and was pleasantly surprised by the difficulty settings. Playing it on normal mode was harder than the hardest settings of other Bioware games I've played, which to me is wonderful, since Bioware has, in my opinion, put out some of the least challenging games ever made (though I enjoy playing them.) I played it through on Nightmare the second play through which forced me to really figure out how to play the game and presented quite a challenge( until I got it through my head to play certain parts of the game like a party in an MMO.) By the time I finished origins Nightmare mode I was really singing Biowares praises at getting a difficulty setting just right. The combat didn't bore me at all and I couldn't mindlessly zerg each battle ( like I apparently do in most 1 player games.) Ok, so I just beat Origins on Nightmare mode with a min/maxished cunning rogue main character and I decide that I really like this character and want to import her into Awakenings and continue to play her. So I import her into awakenings. I think "Awesome" the first companion is a female warrior!! It's about time I can have a female tank for my group. So I get her to the joining and she dies... Ok, no problem I download the "Keep Mhairi as a companion" mod (or whatever the name of it is)! I set her up with the new warrior awakening talents and whatnot, and I begin to realize something. This is way too easy. It occurs to me that I saw in the Mhairi mod comments section how someone's Mhairi companion isn't taking damage. Maybe this is the problem? I watch her carefully and see if this is my problem, and no it's not, because my Mhairi is taking damage. Why is this so **** easy!!?? I'm steamrolling through every fight with no strategy needed. I decide to try Ohgren as tank to make sure it still isn't something bugged with Mhairi. Same thing happens. He holds aggro effortlessly and the whole group takes very little damage. I never have to micromanage anything. I faceroll every fight... Yes, I'm aware of the "Does gameplay really have to be hard for us to enjoy a game?" type of arguments, and that's not really what I'm griping about. Ok, fine I'm sure there is a mod to up difficulty on nightmare mode (and as soon as I'm done typing this tl;dr mess I'm gonna search for one.) My point is not so much that Origins is too hard or that Awakenings is too easy. My beef is the discrepancy. It really kills what too me could have been a much, much better add-in. Probably with some modding I can fix it too my liking, however, out the box it just doesn't flow for me. Is that the word? Flow? I guess I was looking/hoping for a way to seamlessly continue gameplay from Origins, but Awakening doesn't feel like the same game it's just that much easier. If I had to guess why Awakenings is so easy compared to Origins, my first and last guess would be that it's because people griped about Origins being too hard. My experience from playing MMO's is that the tyranny of the majority dictates that things always get made easier. Anyway, I'm gonna stop rambling and search up a difficulty increaser mod. - Live long and prosper

Wild horses?
mojodajojo replied to DeadMansFist849's topic in Oblivion's Oblivion Construction Set and Modders
Yeah, if you use the ones in the creatures column rather than the horses column, you shouldn't have to put a script on them. -
I don't care as long as the trains run on time.

Dude, might have restored it then taken it off due to the same copyright complaints. Edit: I'm typing to see myself type, and this post is a waste of space.

Can't Take Screenshots With MGE

Found a thread about it here. No idea if the suggestion works though. http://forumplanet.gamespy.com/morrowind_plugins_mods/b49690/20174620/p1/
