  1. Forgive me, but isn't this about a thing that an unknown source told a newspaper that can't be confirmed. I have a good idea the President Trump does things to irritate those who are irritated by his existence and I would wager that this unknown official was put up to this by President Trump, himself. This guy has played himself right into the White House and has done it on the bodies of those who have underestimated him, starting with the very media types that are currently after his blood. The trouble is that most of his detractors are so busy falling all over themselves to prove their attitudes toward him that they have become the news and not him. They feed a narrative that isn't flattering to anyone other than their own constituents and alienates the very people they will need regain the White House, when the time comes around. The last election was not about the left or the right. It was about those who thought they were left along the roadside as the powers that be wrangled for political dominance. If these people aren't reached out to, they will not reach back in the next election.
  2. What does the political affiliation of a person have to do with the the dignity due to a human being. Does one have the right to screw up and make bad decisions without having to end up in a vegetative state and loosing their life in the manner this man did. As many people have noticed by reading my posts here, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed. In fact I consider myself lucky to have such intelligent people to talk to, on occasion and that's not me trying to suck up to anyone. It's me giving your due for having the cognizant abilities you have. I envy that more than anyone here will ever know. As We've all experienced in our daily interactions intelligence does not necessarily impart wisdom and I think this is what was the case with this young man. This young man stretched the envelope a bit to far in his sense of fairplay and ended up in a place where that sensibility doesn't exist. I have no clue what made him think this move was a good idea, but I don't think it was anything more than a young mans need to see for himself what actual was out there, in this world filled with partisan rhetoric and ideological bigotry. i don't think this person was stupid any more than I think the college student who was caned for defacing property in Indonesia a couple of decades ago was stupid. I think he was a young American with the privileged mindset of one accustomed to being an American who assumed too much, too far away from our shores. He got his answers in a manner that no one deserves to get them and paid the price for the worlds reluctance to deal with tyranny, much the same as those who were devoured despots in the past. My mind goes back to a time where a man called Nevil Chamberlain stood in front of the press, waving a piece of paper and proclaiming "Peace in our time."
  3. I am a truck driver and am out over the road for 3 weeks at a time. I recently bought an Alienware 17 r4 to play my games on. I downloaded all my games on there and then while out over the road I had an issue where I had to reinstall my OS and I suddenly couldn't tether wifi from my smart phone any more. It just wouldn't connect, so I bought another laptop to hold me through to when I got home and could put the alienware in the shop. I have Skyrim downloaded on the second one and finally found out what was wrong with the connection problem on the Alienware. I've been trying to download Skyrim, back on my Alienware using steam, as I've done so in the past. If I bought every game I've ever owned, can I have them on two computers, having one for a backup and still be good with Bethesda. As I've said I tether wifi from my smartphone and the 11 gb that it takes to download it over the road comes at a very high price.
  4. They won by getting the US to relent on currency/banking concerns , the only thing they were asked to do was tighten the economic screws on N Korea , such as not taking their coal/shrinking oil shipments to N Korea , nothing that is critical to China. And I'm not saying China would be the one to rehabilitate N Korea , I said they would be the ones that would have a good chance at removing Kim Jong Un , in fact they are likely the only ones that could do it . Also them doing it with the contacts they do have with the military and others in the country they could (hopefully) keep the country from falling into chaos. As for afterwards its obvious the only viable solution is for the Gov't of S Korea to take over , the country has to be reunited. It would require a status agreement between China and US , involving de - nuclearization of the penisula and the withdrawal of US forces , but it could be done. It would require an aid program from both the US and China to help in its rehabilitation. There would be problems but its better than the alternative , which is a likely war involving nuclear weapons. They didn't win anything. They got a reprieve from action that wasn't necessary at that time for actions that are necessary, now. You need to prioritize things so that everything works out instead of blowing up in our faces. As I've stated before, you need someone strong enough to replace him and have the respect of everyone involved, so that internal politics won't start a civil war over power withing the Government and military hierarchy This is not a simple tast to undertake mike a Betty Crocker cookbook recipe . I would think, working under a despot like this man, those that survive his instilation to power would be fevorishly working for his favor and against eachother, in order to focus his ire on anyone other than themselves. This doesn't exactly promote a healthy environment for anyone exept the one in power.
  5. Really the Chinese Foreign Minister said 9 hours ago that war may be imminent and that there is no wiinners in a war with N Korea. http://www.rferl.org/a/chinese-fm-says-no-winners-in-nkorea-war/28429546.html With what is happening in the world I wouldn't be so certain of anything. Especially considering its Kim Jong Un who is in charge in N Korea, not exactly a stable individual. And then there is Trump , thats not a good mix. Yes really. There was a reason that President Trump hit Syria while the Chinese president was setting right beside him at diner. There is also a reason that why President Trump didn't call the Chinese on currency manipulation. And please stop looking at President Trump the way he wants you to look at him. The guy is a master manipulater and has lead people around by their noses for decades. Go read "The Art of The Deal" The Chinese spoke about both the North Koreans and they spoke to us. From what I've heard the Chinese threatened North Koreans with stopping the import of oil into NK if they didn't cool their jets. There's more things going on here than just a Carrier task force moving up to the peninsula.. Oh they are making deals thats for sure and its China that is coming out the winner so far , but what we don't know is are they going to back the removal of Kim Jong Un or are they gonna sit back and see what happens or are they gonna get involved and what will that involvement consist of either pro - con or neutral stance. China can get annoyed at N Korea but they still serve a strategic purpose for the Chinese. The most obvious being they keep western forces away from the Chinese border. I wouldn't count China as being in US/Trump camp , they are in China's camp first and foremost. How do you define winning when the status quo was preserved as it has been for decades in order for them to place pressure on a homicidal meniac in the only way pressure could be brought to bear. What we are seeing is chess pieces being moved around in favor of those who reside in the area and you seem to have come to a conclusion that removing this man would be beneficial, even before anyone knows anyone who would be better to replace him with. North Korea is a place where the leader has been deified for as long as people can remember. It is not unlike the Japan of the 1940's, but the rulers or North Korea were savage despots on the order of Nazi regime. We don't need to depose a deified Hitler, only to replace hm with a Himmler 2.0 It took a very long time to allow North Korea to become the hermit kingdom it is and it will take an even longer time to bring it out of that. Those who set by and let this happen were not thinking about the North Korea, but i do think they area becoming aweare of the potential threat that allowing them to continue down the road they are will present in the future. To change North Korea's course would be to go futher than just a regime change, but an entire social change that would effect everyone in the entire country. I don't think that China will be willing to go this alone, because of the massive amount of resourses that it would require. Just think What it would be like if Japan have had a gestapo-like tactics that deified their leader and repressed 90% of their own countrymen. Imagine that existing into today's world with nuclear capabilities. To say these people would be paranoid would be an understatement.

Especially considering its Kim Jong Un who is in charge in N Korea, not exactly a stable individual. And then there is Trump , thats not a good mix. I will agree that neither one of them is what I would consider 'stable'.... But, I would like to think that lil kim is WELL aware, that if he actually starts a shooting war, his life is forfeit, and it WILL mean the end of his regime. He simply cannot stand up to the US and S. Korean military. Trouble is, I doubt it would be a 'short' war.... and the body count would be extreme.... and mostly civilians..... A situation best avoided. However, there comes a time when diplomacy has run its course, and all you are left with is bad choices. I think it was shown over a decade ago, that diplomacy only kicks the can down the road a little further, as kimmy boy is doing exactly what his father, and grandfather before him have done. Be belligerent, get into talks, get some concession, be a good boy for a little while, and then right back to be belligerent. It was worked quite well for them so far...... He has little reason to think anything has really changed. Perhaps that is the message Trump is attempting to send him.... Things HAVE changed...... Personally, instead of invading.... I could see dropping a moab on his state house, when we know he is there, and then NOT invade....... See what happens. Have contingencies in place to deal with his artillery as quickly as possible, should that become an issue. The best thing would be to starve him of fuel. That would pretty much strand him in his tracks.

  8. Nothing will happen here. This country is a tornado in a teacup and has been for decades. The power needed to tke out this country militarily would carry over into both China and south Korea. If we have to deal with this through arms there will be so much bloodshed and destruction on both sides, it won't even be funny. The best we can hope for is for the Chinese to become tired of propping this septic tank of a country and the turd who runs it and back a coup or take over the country itself. At least the North Koreans won't be expecting that and they would have to turn their attention away from the south to contend with it. At least then the nukes won't be in the hands of a pint sized time bomb.
  9. Boy, there is a lot of hate here. I wonder what everybody is afraid of? My hopes is that he tare apart both the Republican and Democratic party.
  10. I don't think he committed to anything other than to restore the brand name America once had as something that should be reckoned with, instead of something that sould be ignored. I think President Obama tried so hard not to be President Bush that he forgot that reality doesn't react well in a void. For a long time the world has had the US to go to to put out the various fires that spring up and that is not something that can be removed without preperation. What President Obama did was to yank the US out of world events and that caused a rift that no one was prepared for. The world, as we see it today is what was left and Syria is what it is when a brutal dictator gets his way, with two powerful allies at it's beck and call. You can say what you will about President Trump, but you can't say that he didn't get the attention of those people who thought they had free rein to perpetrate anything and everything they wanted to secure victory for themselves.
  11. http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/06/politics/donald-trump-syria-military/ I just wondered what everybody thinks of this.
  12. Ok. No, it is not ok. President Trump didn't elect himself. He was elected by people who thought they had no viable option and that is because they felt that either party had left them, not that they left their parties. Democrats and republicans voted for President Trump. From what I've seen neither party has even began to look at themselves and tried to figure out why that was. they have doubled down on their separate ideologies as in their own sanctimonious way as if they were some modern day Moses's going to lead this country into a promised land of their own making, no matter what happens to the rest of the country. America isn't the far right or the far left. It is the middle and it was the middle that put President Trump over the top, because either party wasn't listening to them. That opened the door for for a business man who has been waiting in the wings, for a very long time, and listening to the pulse of the country, all that time to jump in at the right time, with the right language to gain the White House. This, lets take out President Trump and everything will be great idealism isn't going to work, because if it wasn't President Trump, then it would have been someone else and that's a fact.
  13. Why dose people seem to think everything would work out if they get their way? Defusing situations start with compromise, not demands and certainly can't be done one-sidedly. People think that everything would work out right if President Trump left office but the plan fact is that President Trump didn't win the election. The left and the right lost the election by default. They gave the country no viable candidate and President Trump simply stepped into the void.
  14. Civil War? Tend to doubt it, besides most liberals are against guns and conservatives tend to be proficient with a variety of weapons. Even liberals aren't that stupid. i suggest you look to the evening news to get a rather small sample of what the Left is able to through at the right in a war of ideology that even now takes few prisoners. Guns can kill those who physically come at you. Those in real power need not even be in your area. They just send hack into your personal records and wipe any knowledge of you off the map. Try living without a bank account. You have a very dark perspective in contrast I have faith in the American system in the long run. My crazy ass neighbors with their "resist' signs do not bother me, those in the political wilderness usually howl at the moon...it's just noise. As for being wiped off the info verse..their reach better be world wide to be effective. The American system died out along the same time as being treated in a dignified manner became the excursive reward for correct thinking. As far as faith is concerned. i have a very real faith in humanities capacity to delude themselves into believing their excremental is exclusively odor free and one's ideology was sacrosanct. We don't have an American system. We have imaginary chains around our necks that we humorously call civility that keep the liberals and the conservative from doing in public what they do in private and them blame each other for governmental intransigence. They are there for power and care nothing for any of us except that they can sic us on each other by calling the other side evil l and we salivate like Pavlov's dogs. This is not America any more. This is hate being inflamed by fear and being perpetrated on all of us through deception and we lap it up because it makes us feel virtuous.

  16. Hehe,my argument is not climate change,my suggestion was to impeach the most dangerous man that has ever held the office of president of the United States.I didn't know you were an environmental scientist whose research contradicts mainstream science or i would have not have posted such a foolish statement.Yes,America first is a great..um...slogan. Hmm,interesting, the title of this thread is,"What can be done to defuse America"but now it's the issue the world is facing the OP is concerned with. Since the OP doesn't think that the Trump presidency has an effect on this world there's not much more i care to say.Bye... I have a degree in environmental geoscience. I actually do have a clue, and I am not biased by who is writing my paycheck, or funding my research. I all reality, I don't think there is ANY way to defuse the current situation. We are going to have to let it run its course, and see what happens..... My opinion on letting it run it's course is that what it might end up as being. We've already had one civil war and we don't need another one, especially with today's tech advances and the level of firearms we have in this country.
  17. Yeah. I sometimes wonder why people who are against President Trump forget that the right had to, as they would say "endured" eight years of President Obama. To their credit, the right never went as far off the edge in 2920 days of the Obama administration, as the left has gone off in less than 100 days of President Trump. It seems that when I want to remove partisanship from a thread about defusing political angst, that some of these same types of people would rather take their toys and go home, then discuss how to be less anal about acting out on their beliefs. This reminds me of the thread I posted here about left wing totalitarianism. Same same GI.

Since the OP doesn't think that the Trump presidency has an effect on this world there's not much more i care to say.Bye... Sorry, I mispoke when I added the World and people are not following the spirit of diffusing, when they attribute everything to President Trump, To talk about impeachment against someone you say is the most dangerious man to hold the oval office is just more patrisan rhetoric. It will simply continue to stoke the fires of partisanship. This does the exact opposite of what the topic is about. I would argue that, no matter who was placed in the white house that there would be factions that would see him/her as dangerous or destructive. It doesn't matter who anyone wants to snarl at or the excuse in which it is used, since it is ultimately, we as Americans need to clean up our own messes. That mess is that we describe each other and some of us, ourselves as what our political leanings are, instead of Americans. What i'm talking about is how do we, as citizens get beyond the partisan bickering and grandstanding. President Trump didn't put himself in office. It was a progression of polarizing individuals who those of the opposition denied the respect due to a setting president. Fear and anger backed up by prejudice that the media fostered into a seething caldron of hate that is tearing this country apart.
  19. Well, this has gotten off going the way i thought it would. The issue the world is facing is not President Trump. It's what our leaders did to make President Trump not only a viable candidate, but put him in office. I'm thinking that the public turned their backs on their country and their future for checking out Face Book and Dancing with the Stars more than they did their own political leaders. That gave those leaders license to screw us over so much that the political outsiders ran the gauntlet. Senator Sanders came darn close to taking a big chunk out of Hillary Clinton ans Donald Trump just wiped the ground up with every other Republican that stood in hs way. All this talk about getting rid of President Trump is all nice and dandy, but unless you take care of what made him presentable, we will be destined to get another that is just like him.
  20. Well, that was the fault f the blue dog dems.. I think they were more concerned with not jeopardizing their cushy little seats than anything. They ended up getting their seat booted out of office during the midterms. As far as unamerican, I don't think that term can be applied untill a definition of what exactly is American can be found. I live here and don't know that. Seeing recent events, I would just submit a picture of a good old fashion grade school cafeteria food fight and lable that American.
  21. If we do that, then we have to deal with the fear of socialism in a country that can't comprehend the difference between socialism and communism, which they demonize, even thought there has never been an actual true communist country anywhere in the world. That's why I would think that a program that was created by the individual states would work, because most people think that what comes from the government is infringing on the rights of it's citizens, but on that comes from the states would not.
  22. Would it be better, instead of a national healthcare bill to challenge the different states to come up with a healthcare bill that will work for them. That way the best one of of the 50 states could be adopted by those states who see a working model within the state it was created in and opt to copy that framework for their own state. The national government could support this to a degree just to get the programs off the ground and then give some of the tax money collected from the state to support it after it is off the ground. At least then we won't have this one size fits all approach that the government wants to shove down our throats. Who knows. Maybe if the country likeswhat a state has created then we can come together and have that plan be nation wide.
  23. Who are the instigators. Are they the one's who stir up issues or the ones who thirst for issues to be stirred up about?
  24. Is there any way that this addiction to politics can be defused in a way that we can refer to each other by the country we live in as opposed to the political party we've deluded ourselves into believing they care for us?
