  1. I don't respond to these youtubes that start out insulting people. There is a way to talk with people and there are ways not to. This guy on this you tube, wither he has a point or not isn't going to gain any any adherents by starting out this way. That being said, we do need feminism. What we don't need is those people who are so into their ideology that they judge the morality or the intellectual level of others, based on their acceptance of his or her philosophy orf life. This is particularly true of those who would shout down others or go after their livelihood or social standing for their beliefs. There has been much talk about the left doing this in the past, but there has been an even longer history of society doing this very same thing over the course of time and it wasn't the left that has this history. What is needed is a complete understanding of the ideal of free speech and the acknowledgment that this doesn't just mean listening to what we want to listen to.
  2. And who are they? Either of us don't really know how many times a man or a woman thinks about sex, especially in general. How many times do men check out women? Again, who can know this? Women also check out men, but ultimately it doesn't even matter, so your point is moot. Women can wear whatever clothes they want to. Men also have clothing that show off their bodies, you aren't making any real points here, just asking a bunch of questions that I guess are suppose to mean something. I think you have a lot of learning to do when it comes to the word "victimization." I'm not really concerned about the far past, so why don't we focus on the modern day and stay relevant? You speak as though there have never been studies in these matters. If you would have taken the time, you would have known that. Saying something is or is not and then dismissing my quote/unquote point without even questioning me on it seems to suggest a preconceived narrative . As far as your opinions go, you are intitled to as many of them as you can posibly produce, but acttually making the statement you did about asking questions suggests yuo think there are better ways of exploring society than asking questions. I guess it is for those who have preconceived notions about reality or those who simply don't want them answered. Human nature has not changed. It's just that we are able to conceal more of it behind the anonymity of the internet.
  3. Both men and women have had struggles since the dawn of time, sexist beliefs probably didn't come about until much later on. Men are also expected to adopt certain roles and they have double standards. As for the whole "wild stallion" thing, who are you to say that's why they like women who fight? Can you read minds? I really think that you are deeply exaggerating in this post. Both sexes have faced problems including sexism. Who faced more sexism doesn't really matter. "Privilege," doesn't really have to do with the bathroom issue. This would be humorious if it weren't so terrifying that someone would actually equate the struggles of women now, and throut history to that of men. certainly there were males that couldn't quite fill the bill. I was born with a males body and was one of those quote/unquote lesser men to those who were anal enough to think they did. I don't think I exaggerate any at all, since I've heard it from a good many people who know better. Being measured a man, I have been privy to many things that men keep to themselves when discussing the so called ladies. How many times do you think a man thinks about sex and how many times does a women? How many times have men looked at a woman's breast when speaking to them and how many times have they looked around to see what her butt looks like ? What percentage of women's clothes have been designed to show off their bodies as oppsed to men's clothing. How many men walk on spiked heels that damage the back over time? How many little girls have been pulled off into a corner and a kiss forced on them and how many have ended up being sexually assualted , even by members of their own families. I think you have got a lot of catching up to do when it comes with doing a faceoff between the victimization of men and that of women. . This thing about equating struggles is absolutely ludicrous, since it is a known fact throughout history that women have been second class citizens and in some case little more than commodities that were traded for political alignments.
  4. I don't really believe in the normal. I think it's just a romanticized vission of reality that downplays the importance of the casual to sensationalize the new. This country seems to equate newness to vitality and that isn't always the case. It most assuredly doesn't mean that sence a new person has come up with a thought that the same or similar thoughts have not appeared in the past and some might have been tried and have proven themselves to have failed. There is too the fact that many things progress and not all of them are good things, so this idea of change for changes sake too me is a call for action when that action might just be standing up, turning a full circle infront of your chair and setting down in that same chair, thinking that we have gotten ourselves somewhere. You can look at the politicians for examples of one or two years of agitation followed by four years of benign bull crap that they blame on others. If we want change, we need to start in our own back yards and in our own neighborhoods. The politican will set you against your neighbor so they can have plausable denile when nothing happens, but if we all go out and have our neighbors see us a just as human as they, we might just be able to add there vote to ours. That way the politicans can't say that the person your neighbor voted in block what he is trying to do for you, because that neighbor voted for the same person you did. Progress is a word that people wave banners to. The future is where we are all headung into and we have no choice in that, but we do have a chance to manuver that future, but not because we get out an vote. It was because we cared so much we took the effort to talk with people. We went out and helped our neighbors and and in doing that we brought back the idea of strength of community and that is what we are severely lacking these days. We can't be apart of society if we don't get out there and interact with it and we darn sure can't consolidate the force of public opinion by yelling at people and demanding we get our way and for others to go screw themselves.
  5. II was concentrating on the meltdown on the republican side so much that I didn't pay attention to this. I heard there was a stink, but I thought it was just sour grapes. I liked Clinton last time but I'm a Bernie person now. I hope the DNC don't try to pull a fast one or they might be going down the road everybody thought the Repubs would be on.
  6. First of all, Well the point of using such a rediculous person and a normal trans , is to point out the contradictions. Even to Blair what this guy was espousing comes across as rediculous. Even pointing out the historical reason why we have mens/womens restrooms was just pointing out the contradictions that seem evident in the ideology he is espousing. Now you may say its just Govt doing this , but there is an ideology behind it and that is clearly coming from SJW types , are those in Govt making use of it yes , as are those in Govt who oppose this sort of thing. As for your long post , I agree with pretty much everything you said, but this identity politics is doing nothing but balkanizing a great many people and I'm used to seeing that sort of tactic being played on the right , but now its people on the left who are also engaging in that practice and its those on the right that are going to benefit . IF SJW types keep coming out with these types of contradictions then even people who are liberal will look elsewhere and there is only one way to go .. to the right. That in no way is going to help the transgender community. Sorry if I came out in a fowl mood here. I'm just so tired of people like this clown, stomping their feet and shaking their fists for their own delight. It's just so beyond old it's pathetic. This guy wants to create a warm and fuzzy world around him, that he can feel comfortable i This, i don't think is coming from a community, but it is coming from those who are infantile to think they can have their cake and eat it too. That's never been the case and never will. People like this guy only concentrate on what he doesn't have and completely ignors what he does have. he also has a serious issue with delusions of grandure by calling himself a terrorist. This guy thinks he is fighting with something social but I would say he's flapping his gums to try and become relivant in some way. It's like Harpo Marx working on his public speaking. t doesn't work. Not for him, not for me and not for anyone, but that's probably why he's alone in a room partially dressed up and speaking to a camer instead of a real crowd of people. P.S. I've been around people who have connections with the people in Moveon.org and they have a much better presence than this person ever thought about being.
  7. +There is a huge difference between the orogressive movement and what is going on on the left today. The difference is that progressive work for slow and stead change in society, which I agree with. What passes fro preogress today is a level of intolerance and argance that rivals many of the exploits of the most sanctimonious charletons of the last century. People are shouted down and are targetted for their veiws, even if they are working for the same causes. The bullwork of public debait which is freedom of speech is virtually unknown to these people who are growing up today and have no idea how much it is needed because the public has not had enough of their crap. Once the exploits of these petty tyrants reach a intolerable level they will quickly learn just how those they have targetted for so long have felt . It won't surprize me if a Trump victory will herald in the beginning of the end of this chapter in social reform. And if it does, it will fully make up for any other stupidity he perpetrates. Well, aside from getting us into yet another war...... Well the real stupidity comes from those who like his message. He, most likely has been listening to these people for a very long time and is rejurgitating their anxiety back upon them and they are far too desperate to even contimplate they are being had. Social shange doesn't come from the left or the right. It comes from the middle, when enough people get tired of the current insanity and throw their votes in with the underdog and walla, we have another turn in the road. The reason I pointed out Trump is not because what his rhetoric, but because what will come in on his coat tails and that will be a lot of conservative leaning ideology. The only real good thing about that is the country can take a breather and we can look more critically on the social programs that have been put inplace. The Republicans will have to act unstead of meander about giving President Obama the stink eye and that will be interesting to see in the least. As for getting us in a war, we are already in one and it will be a lifetime or two before we see the end of that. I just hope that the government has the intelligence to understand that it is unwinable by our side. It can only be won by those who live in that immediate area of the world and by Muslims alone. Gorge Bush the stupider really screwed things up when he took out Saddam, because he would have not allowed what is going on with Isis and Iran would still have an enemy to face over their with the balls to waste the lives of his soldiers to put Iran on notice.
  8. Agreed. but the youth of today hasn't had enough life experience to realize this. They still think they can make a difference on a national level, when in reality the best way to bring about change is to go out amoung those within their own neighborhood and do positive things that are appriciated enough for those people to listen to them, but that seems to be too much of a personal effort. Most people just want to march around like herds of sheep, carrying signs and shaking their fists at those people their puppet masters tell them too. The realization of being used will take time to sink in, as will the understanding that group think often times bypasses the thought process entirely.

  10. society needs to have the time to absorb any changes that confronts it. Wither that absorption is negative or positive doesn't matter. It need to get use to the realization that there is something out there that has not been widely known. This is why i am so upset about all this. the country has been rocked over the last few years by the force of a very profound identity change. This here is just another layer that the powers that be are throwing onto the backs of the public and those same authority figures are cracking their wips as if they were the ring masters and we are the performing elephants.
  11. First of all, who are you addressing here with this? You cherrypick a a rediculious person who thinks he speaks for transgenders who is edited by another person or group in a manner of their own choosing. Then you casually toss this entire issue into the arms of a group of people you assume is responsible, without following the bread crumbs to it's real source. This is not very helpful, since it places your arguement at the same level as those who would bash you for what they ssume are your thoughts. Follow this all the way out to who would benefit from the turmoil that is unfolding. Who in this country has the power to step in when everyone is at each others throats and makes out as a solver of problems? government. Who is pushing this? The government. Who is forcing compliance by threatening the pulling of funds? The government. Do the math, my friends, Do the math. This is not about transgenders. This is not about social justice or about the LBGT community. It's about common sense and respect for those who will be victimized by this ridiculous measure the government seems to ignore and that is the women and girls who will have to absorb this and this is the issue. Has anyone ever thought that transgenders are actually just people like you are who are just trying to get through life as best they can. We live in a world that is upside down, but that doesn't mean we all are for shoving this down the throats of everyone else, just because we are different. This is not on par with Gay Marriage. Not even close. This whole thing is politically motivated by those who want to stir up the chronically thoughtless to mindlessly chase after another quote/unquote wrong that desperately needs to be righted. It's not about the people who will ultimately effected by this, but those who need another issue that will drive people to the polls. This is about political posturing and the fabrication of issues to yet again divide Americans from Americans. We as Americans and even more we as members of the world need to wise up to what is really happening and not fall head over heels for these fake dilemmas the political establishment tosses our way every election season. This is nothing more than the victimization of those, who are not only like me, transgender , but also those who were blessed with the bodies that resemble their gender identity. Make no mistake, I am a woman inside and I am old enough to know I don't need to look the part to be who I've always have been. I don't need to go into a woman's restroom or a woman's locker room to feel better about myself. It is not a right to do a wrong in society, which is what this is doing. It's forcing women and girls to accept males into their personal spaces. It doesn't matter if inside, I am a women, if outside I am a man. What matters is the level of comfort that we can generate around us, as we are the outsiders in a world that is occupied by people who are men and women and who are comfortable with that. It is normal and natural to them and we as transgender people need to blend in and gain the respect of those we share the Earth with. We don't need to ram ourselves into society like a ragging bull making demands of others and, as far as I can see the majority of us are not. You can't stop the mouthpieces from flapping their gums and you'll never get the media from sensationalizing everything, since it is their job to promote their corporations by drawing in readers and they do that by promoting controversy. do, on the other hand know I need to respect other people of my gender by not forcing them to accept me, as I look today or any other day into the very places they need the most privacy and security. My entire issue with this is, if the government wants to push this, then they need to step up with a better solution than just telling everybody to quote/unquote "SUCK IT UP!" Them doing this makes people like me look like some pathetic little damsel in distress whose having a mental meltdown for not having her cake and eating it too. That is a false image and one that will possibly put a bad taste in those very peoples mouths that couldn't care less about my reality. That creates adversaries where there, at one time was none and that's not a good thing for anyone.
  12. I look at it the same way as I do for the prolife people who stand in the way of women wanting abortions, but won't lift a finger to help her in the situation she is in. If they want to stop abortions, they need to be willing to fund a program that gives these mothers effective options. nIf the government wants to mandate what they propose then they also have to step up to the table and offer effective options. I went through all kinds of hell, with this thing. I hated myself for not only being what I didn't wanted to be, but also what others thoght I should be. I was ijust as uncomfortable with men as I was with women, because I didn't fit in anywhere. I just wonder where I would be and what I would be doing for a living and a life, If I could have corrected my looks. I wonder where society as a whole would be if we could be what we are comfortable being, without the stigma? I do agree with you that this is a poor person's plight, but with the idea of wealth redistribution I always thought it was to enrish the lives of the poor. Why wouldn't this be akin to that?
  13. What I am getting at is the goverment or the justice department is telling states that they have to let transgenders us the facilities that fit their gender identity, even though some of us don't look at. They are telling those states that refuse this that they may loose government dollars if they continue. This is a cheap way of trying to find a solution to an issue, without actually doing anything. If the government wanted to help the transgender community, they need to set up a government program that would give low interest loans to those who wish the surgery to correct their gender. To just demand that people accept this is not right.
  14. Thew comment about the dirty word was done in jest What this is about is about this link. I gave it in the op, but somehow it didn't take.http://www.reuters.com/article/us-north-carolina-lgbt-idUSKCN0Y71UA There has been an issue where the rights of one group has been injected into the rights of another group. Both groups are recognized by the government as being victimized and now they are imposing their will on the public instead of doing what they should and correct the issue of transgender people by fixing the mental health care situation in this country and be requiring that surgeries which correct transgender people and allow them to live their lives as the gender they identify with. They are not doing this and are trying to force the public to accept their shake and bake solution by requiring others allow people like me to use women's restrooms when I still look like a man.
  15. I am speaking about the dirrective to allow transgender males to us the facilities of women, when we don't look the part. I'm sorry the link to what I was refering to didn't take. I've corrected that. thank you.
  16. That was not the issue and I commented on it in jest. The issue I presented was linked to a issue about bathrooms that I had a link to, but somehow it didn't take when I posted the original post. I apologize for the confusion. Next time I will check my posts better.
  17. Let me be upfront and tell you guys that I am transgender. I have been all my life, even before someone created some cutesypie term to identify those of us who feel the way we do apart from those who feel the way they do. The name I took for myself is Breeanne, pronounced breeyan and from the time I can remember anything at all, I felt uncomfortable in my own skin and was trying on my mom's clothes before I was out of grade school. I have always been more comfortable around women and have envied their life from birth to old age. Link. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-north-carolina-lgbt-idUSKCN0Y71UA What I'd like to talk about is not me, but what is going on in the political arrena. Especially this new idea that those of us who identify with an opposite sex should be able to intrude into the sacred areas of their lives, such as bathrooms and loocker rooms, as If they shoud just throw up their hands and except us and we wish to be instead of what we appear to be, outwardly. It's almost as if it is their burden to deal with this curse I've lived with, instead of me. I don't know who thought of this stuff, but I guarantee you, it wasn't a woman thinking about other women. Lets face it, women have had it rotten since the time we marched out of the swamps and started walking on two feet. They have been put in the background and forced to wear clothing that excentuated their bodies, instead of their minds. They have endured demeaning themselves to gain the affections of men, who are far less mature and have had to feign ignorance and inability to do things on their own so that they can appear these delicate little flowers so they can pamper and placate they glass egos of boys who have never grown up to the adult bodies they reside in. They have been raised to be servants of society in the roles that our culture has given them and have endured the spitfullness of an unforgiving public when they acttually make it in life. Just ask yourself why men with 3 girlfreinds is a stud, but a women with 3 boyfriends is a flirt. Ask yourself why men get to exult their genitalia, why women need to keep that stuff in the dark or they will be looked down on. Ask yourself why men who don't like to fight are called cowards and pussies and women who do like to fight are tomboys and acttually arouse many men as if she was something for them to conquer like some wild stallion. Then after all that ask yourself why women are the ones that have a % of their income removed just because they are considered non-breadwinners for the household. After you are done there, then ask yourself what right a person like me and others like me, who was raised as a man and who have gained the benefits society has for men has to walse my hairy butt into a womans bathroom just because some activist thinks I should be less concerned with the women I envy than my own self. I am and always will be female and how can I as one disregard the sentiments of those whose bodys look female. Wouldn't that make me a *censored*? (you've got to be kidding me. You guys think that is a dirty word. Try being in the body of a boy and jumping out in front of your highly religious family in a dress, when your 7 years old. I've been called worse.) My last comment was in jest and has nothing to do with the issue at hand. thank you!
  18. I care about three things and leave the rest up to whoever is operating Trump. (1) what he will do for health care, both mental and physical. This ACA is crap and it will be as long as the insurance and pharmaceutical companies are running it. (2) Imigration. We need to get this fixed and not only for today but for the foreseeable future because I'm really getting tired of both parties lacking the will to do something at all about it, so they can have an issue for themselves the next 400 elections. These people are playing are using other peoples lives as a political football and that's just not right. (3) Opportunities. We need more of them and we need them quickly so that those able to work can get decent jobs so we, as a nation can pay for ourselves and address the needs of those who can't work or are reaching the age of retirement.
  19. Occupy Wall Street, Black Lives Matter; look at what they turn in to. 'Demanding change' today is a sideshow. The passion and drive of the Vietnam War protests has been replaced with angst and entitlement. There aren't 'movements' anymore, just circle-jerks and riots. That's because protests today have become a commodity. Angst and being offended have become an industry.
  20. I was thinking about this the other day and wanted you guys opinion on this. It seems, since the information age the usual suspects of every bodies social agenda has been slowly moving it's way from town hall meeting to the larger versions of mass media and is that a good thing as far as being thought provoking or is it more group think?
  21. Well, I haven't changed much. https://www.politicalcompass.org/yourpoliticalcompass?ec=-2.63&soc=-3.49 Just a little shy of the Green Party.
  22. With the political parties slowly sliding away from the people, I wonder how they would fare in this test.
  23. Who, here sees an election day with four candidates if both partys try to manipulate their respective conventions in faver of their pick for president?
  24. Seeing how brutal mankind can be and knowing that Hitler only holds to infamous position he holds today, because no one else has yet unseated him on the throne of evil. I would say we'd be better off leaving things the way they are since we could very well unleash something that would wipe us out even before now.
  25. Do you guys think that much of the social problems that we face today could have been taken care of if children would have been screened for mental illness?
