maxmanatarms
Donation Points are always worth .001 of a cent. What changes is the size of the pool. The Patreon page tells you how much of the monthly pool comes from there. It also has nothing to do with the "donate to the author" system which appeare to be what they were complaining about. So, basically, if the pool is greater than the Patreon amount every month then that means that Nexus is adding to it, not removing from it. I'm not opted in to DP so I'm not sure if you actually receive any information that would tell you the size of the pool. If not, that would be valid information to ask for. Anything else is not a concern to Mod Authors. So the fact the group your trusting to host may be profiting from selling access to your mods isnt your concen? Let alone that after this month ends will permanently hold and use it even if you dont want them to?Jesus. No wonder they are stepping on everyone if a majority of folks think like that. maxmanatarms
10,000 DP = $10 That does make me wonder how they have so many Triple A games for such a cheap value when amassing keys could be done from some sites. still that list shows games at a high value that is greater then the DP points are even worth. showler
So the fact the group your trusting to host may be profiting from selling access to your mods isnt your concen? Let alone that after this month ends will permanently hold and use it Whoah, hold on a moment. Nexus selling memberships and advertising in order to run the site that hosts your mods is pretty much the entire basic concept of a hosting site. It's exactly the same situation as any other free hosting site, or youtube type sites. But that does not in any way give you a right to see their business financials. You're not an investor. This discussion is about donations and about the donation point system. As long as Nexus isn't using money intended for Mod Authors for business purposes then there is no problem. And if you know the monthly pool, you will have all the information you need to confirm that.
HadToRegister
//Comment// Maybe not an Investor, but DEFINITELY a CONTENT CREATOR. NexusMODS, (note the MODS) part of the name came about IN RESPONSE to MODS being made. There were plenty of other MOD hosting Sites, and the Nexus was among many, it even went under and offline for a while, taking a lot of mods with it back around 2003. But the Nexus wasn't the only game in town.
Zanderat
So now we are demanding to see The Nexus's financials? What? Can we, at least, try to stay in the real world?

showler
The only person who said that was showler, who likes to derail threads No, that was maxmanatarms who tried to imply that Nexus might be stealing money from the Patreon fund for modders. I pointed out how easy it would be to disprove that since we know how much the Patreon produces each month. All you need to do is look at the DP pool to see how much was added into it by the Nexus. Zanderat
The only person who said that was showler, who likes to derail threads The whole thing seems to stem from this comment by max: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/10255828-no-more-donations/page-2&do=findComment&comment=96862993 The source of all Donation Points is Nexus Mods itself. They control the value of them. The pool is supplemented by our Mod Author Donation Fund on Patreon. So that's where the "users" come in. those who want to help and donate to them to help donate to the mod makers. So from having servers. having an office. paying the mod makers. All of this is coming from Them and we are supplementing it as well. We only know and see what they post and show posted as "how we are splitting the funds" It wouldn't be far fetched to go "X amount can be going to Y when its meant to got to Z" And we cant prove it is either way cause we don't know what the back side of the system looks like.
