We experienced a Vortex Update, yesterday, and the Vortex screen as it now appears has confused us. Also Vortex asked us to install a Microsoft NET version X, and we followed the auto-load sequence for that.

1. We originally had only two managed games, in Vortex, Skyrim, and Skyrim SE. But now Vortex shows only one:

2. The Vortex screen-window exhibiting managed games now shows only Skyrim (LE) as one managed game, but the icon for Skyrim SE as a managed game has gone.

3. Also, the Vortex partitioned window that showed all of our Skyrim SE tools (SSE Edit, FNIS, etc.) has disappeared. We can't seem to access the tools, including the "run Skyrim SE tool." We do see a list of tools in a list at the bottom of the Vortex Window, but they are not "clickable."

4. Our Skyrim SE Profiles are still accessible, but when we enabled one, we received an error message that Vortex could not find a number of paths. We re-enabled the one we're playing right now, and we can get to the mod list and our enabled mods and plugins lists for Skyrim SE.

5. And we were able to run Skyrim SE from the icon at the top of the Vortex Window, EXCEPT the game ran in low-resolution.

Otherwise, all of our enabled mods for our current profile were active.

We appreciate Vortex, and the work behind it. Nonetheless, we still need advice.

For problems with your .NET install, see this thread: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/11865088-microsoft-net-check-failed-vortex-167/

If the game his disappeared, check the extensions tab it may have gotten disabled due to some weirdness on your system.

For changes to the Tools dashlet, that is covered in the recent news post: https://www.nexusmods.com/news/14743

Further investigation:

1) We CAN play the game from the SKSE 64 dashlet, as we always used to, though we didn't see that tool in the new tools dashlet right after the update, at first. Maybe restarting the system had something to do with this?

2) The Skyrim SE game has not disappeared, but its icon does not show in the "recently managed window," though the icon for Skyrim LE ("Oldrim") DOES show, and we have not even recently managed it!

3) Bodyslide appears in the new tools dashlet, but running it shows no previews, no sliders show up, and no body-image shows up, though we can click on our presets, they won't load. As if it can't find our folders. Our presets ARE listed, but nothing loads in the preview window as it used to.

4) The Vortex Update, somehow, fixed our mouse-lag issue, and the mouse is behaving as normal again, throughout all Skyrim associated applications. ???

5) How can we test or tell if we had problems with the .NET install? Are there some markers or behaviors?

Thanks, for anyone who understands these.

2) Your currently managed game will not show in "recently managed games". It's redundant and wastes space. Switch to managing a different game and SE should show up.

3) Make sure you go in to "edit" your tools and confirm everything is correct. The update may have lost some information.

1) It got inserted at the bottom of the dashboard so you probably just missed it first time around?

2) Recently Managed shows games you managed recently not including the currently active one. The current game is denoted by the game tile in the top left of the app.

3) I'm afraid I've not ever really used BodySlide so I can't really advise there.

5) If you get any errors related to .NET that will guide you through the fixes, otherwise disregard that point.

OK, thanks. We see the currently managed game in the upper corner, and understand the redundancy issue.

When we play the game from the icon in the upper-left, we get a lower-resolution result, but if we play it with the SKSE tool, we get higher-resolution.

to @showler, do we find the Bodyslide icon and select edit?
