Can't get mods to work through Vortex for Skyrim GOG version.

I really don't know what I'm doing with this so any help would be appreciated. I can play the Steam version of Skyrim just fine with all the mods enabled and works when I load it up but not the same for the GOG version. Is it a different SKSE version? Usually if it is I get a message saying I need the different version. I'm tempted to try again through Mod Manager to get this to work but I couldn't get mods to load there either.

You can't manage BOTH installs (A shortcoming of Vortex at the moment)

You have to use one or the other, either GOG or Steam.

Also, if you want to use Xedit with the GOG version you need to add this to the Command line in Vortex for the Xedit shortcut.

all you have to do to get Xedit working with the Gog version is to add this to the command line on startup (Of course your path to GOG Skyrim AE will be different)

On the command line, pass:

-D:"C:\GOG\Skyrim Anniversary Edition\Data" -I:"C:\Users\admin\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\Skyrim.ini"

Adjust the C:\GOG\Skyrim Anniversary Edition\Data path to match where you installed GOG/Skyrim and replace admin with your own username.

For my GOG SkyrimSE I have the following in the command line part of the dashboard tool:

For Wrye Bash the command line I'm using is: -o "D:\gog_games\Skyrim Anniversary Edition"

For xedit/xlodgen the command line is: -SSE -D:"D:\gog_games\Skyrim Anniversary Edition\Data\" -P:"C:\Users\<MYUSERNAME>\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\plugins.txt" -I:"D:\Users\\<MYUSERNAME>\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\Skyrim.ini"

For DynDolod the command line is: -SSE -D:"D:\gog_games\Skyrim Anniversary Edition\Data\" -P:"C:\Users\<MYUSERNAME>\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\plugins.txt" -I:"D:\Users\<MYUSERNAME>\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\Skyrim.ini"

The SKSE64 version is https://skse.silverlock.org/beta/skse64_2_02_03_gog.7z (I can't remember if Vortex installed the correct version for me).

Watch out for profiles, I'm having an issue where changing profile doesn't properly change the plugins.txt, https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Vortex/issues/13413
