After I downloaded it it still gives me the same error

You probably didn't update properly as this error only ever appears on an outdated version. Check the "About" option at the top right of the app to see your version

It says I have the correct version when I check about

Perhaps you could provide a screenshot of the error you see or more details? The error you describe wouldn't even appear if you have the latest build of Vortex installed as there is no update to download.

Okay, so you need SKSE 2.2.6

That has nothing to do with Vortex.

That's not even a Vortex error message.  It very clearly says it's coming from SKSE.
