Kshatry Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Can you please bring back mod category description to the mods shown on the game's main page?
JayJeffJackson Posted May 13 Posted May 13 sorry i got some more gripe with this, the mod names are getting cut off after 36 meager letters, thats especially annoying. many mods have translations, so you have "Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDO...." as a name and no further indication of what it is. might be a patch or translation or fork. this+the new algorithm mean the "quick search" is pretty useless. no, you click "show all" and scroll multiple pages until you find it, knowing the item that fits your search text 1 to 1 is somewhere at the end, or just use google. can you please please please add an opt-in feature to get the old search back? i tried the new search, and quickly decided to use google instead because it actually finds the things it should among the entire internet+doesnt cut off results names+shows more then 8+doesnt sort results next to each other but below one another as it should be for lists of items with long names. cant understand why it was even changed, it had worked FINE. ok rant over, greetings and ty for the years of good work 1
DrizzyDrain Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Please make this new update optional. It really just feels forced, and is lacking several essential features from before. It overall feels like a downgrade or beta test at best. Half the time, the whole top bar of menus is just gone, unable to search for anything. 1

Qrsr Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I just wanted to let you know, that having the more advanced "code" option is a super big plus from me. ITs so handy for communication. Thanks ! Technically speaking, with the option to drag drop images if supporter or premium or else is another big plus. Its almost close as handy to some extend to discord or other chat programs, like matrix. Maybe one day, your entire site and concept will be a metaverse which combines all of this.
MithranArkanere Posted May 19 Posted May 19 I recommend site-wide settings to use ISO 8601 date format (yyyy-mm-dd). This would be useful to quickly copy the date of a mod and use it in an information column of a mod in a mod manager. That helps sort mods from older to newest and ensures mods that update other mods are properly placed afterward. With the dd mmm yyyy format, someone who wants to do that has to manually convert the format to ISO 8601 every time they want to do that. Some people may still prefer the dd mmm yyyy format for ease of reading if they are not used to ISO 8601, so a setting to choose between them would probably be best. 1
Sku11M0nkey Posted May 26 Posted May 26 This New UI is far less user friendly than the previous UI. 1) Far too much white space and padding causing most content to be pushed below the fold 2) unnecessarily large headings and sub headings excacerbate the above issue. (this UI seems like it was designed for mobile but the vast majority of your target audience is going to be using this website from a desktop PC as that's the only way to run Vortex and a modded game build so Desktop usability should be the primary focus for Usability not mobile... maybe have a separate mobile UI toggle somewhere but this is not it. 3) Unnecessary additional heading. We already have the game in both the breadcrumb and the top bar. This giant banner just pushes content below the fold making it harder to see and more frustrating to find what you want. 3) Mods which are the focus are pushed down below "Collections" which a lot of people don't use. I know you want to feature both collections and Mods but Mods should take the forefront. I suggest that instead of forcing the user to scroll vertically you instead have a section with tabs on it. Trending Section | Mods || Collections || Media || Latest News | This would allow the user to quickly get to where they want without having to scroll so much. Also you're "Latest News" section wouldn't be completely forgotten and overlooked as currently it's all the way at the bottom of the page where no one is going to look. You want to keep as much content in the "hot zone" 'above the fold' or as close to it as possible. If latest news is important to you I'd have it right up with trending. Maybe 2 tabbed locations |Trending || Latest News| | Mods | Collections | Media 4) You really need to go back to the trending mods carrousel. It was a much better solution for exposure and it's just a much better presentation for featured mods. It's just far more engaging, adds a bit of motion and excitement and a feeling of "newness" to the page. You can still have the thumbnails below. The current static trending section just seems plain, boring and lifeless. 5) Mod tiles contain too much text. The previous tiles were much better. If we're interested in a mod we'll click into it to get the details. These new mod tiles again take up too much space forcing us to constantly scroll. 6) The UI has too many grey gradients and strangely everything else looks flat... Aesthetically speaking the previous UI IMO looked ironically cleaner and higher quality. Honestly your previous UI was one of the best website UIs I've come across which balanced form and function very well. And I do website UI/UX design for a living so that's not just idle flattery. I get that you guys might have been focusing on mobile compatibility, responsiveness and ADA compliance with this rework but honestly I think you could have just kept the previous layout/overall design and made it compliant and responsive. The VAST majority of your audience is going to be desktop based when actually USING the site and clicking on the download links. So I think you have to take a 2 tiered approach when it comes to mobile responsiveness. Your desktop layout really needs to be desktop user focused and then use @media queries to do a completely mobile focused layout vs the standared "Mobile 1st" approach most corporate websites use. Because at the end of the day nexusmods is much more of a desktop application as you are interfacing with Vortex, MO2 or other mod managers and you need to see a lot of information on screen at once. People viewing the site via mobile on the other hand are doing only that... browsing for interesting mods they will download later once they are on their desktop and have access to their mod manager application. So again Maybe take this new layout and use it only for mobile and then bring back the old UI with the trending carousel but with the one small change of having a tabbed navigation added as suggested above so that collections and "latest news" can have a high traffic places in the old UI. 3 1
Soanfriewack Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Please Revert the Game Icons/Picture back to the old ones. The New ones have often way less personality and for everyone who has been a long time user, it is confusing since the game you are looking for now looks significantly different. 1 2
Qrsr Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Latest update to the site concerning game icons and covers is horrible to say the least. Here is some feedback following the advices of Soanfriewack: Fallout 4 https://dvdcover.com/fallout-4-2015-ntsc-xbox-one/ https://dvdcover.com/wp-content/uploads/freedvdcover_fallout-4-cover-700x385.jpg Fallout 3 https://dvdcover.com/fallout-3-2008-pc/ https://dvdcover.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/2020-02-03_5e38a1ad39030_ObalDVD-CZ-700x456.jpg Fallout 3 GOTY https://dvdcover.com/fallout-3-goty-2009-us-pc-dvd-cover/ https://dvdcover.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/2020-02-03_5e38a26966d95_ObalDVD-US-700x466.jpg the icons you use looks like it was made for a 5 year old. Next to this - what is the point on those gender heavy background addition for Fallout 4? Here is a comparison to Fallout 3: Fallout 4 has many more neutral background variants to choose from. EIther remove it or tie it to the profile user gender. If possible use the Fallout 4 Options Menu screen as background for Fallout 4: 1
