Usually it's due to 3ds Max not loading up quick enough and then I've lost interest once it has. :P Anyway, here's the armour I said I was going to make... http://puu.sh/gNKxX/78dc1dfb6e.jpg I'm actually super excited to try this out, but I'm forcing myself to slow down and do it all properly. My idea for this came from the master mage robes in Skyrim: I thought they looked really cool, but my character is a spellsword so I wanted something that offered a little more protection. So yeah, I modelled a cuirass on put it on top! I also edited the textures of the robes so that they were more neutral in colour, yet had a distinct look of "traveller" about them (hence the leather) and the chainmail came as an afterthought, but now I'm glad I added it. So yeah, that's my armour. I'm sort of dreading the "3ds Max to Skyrim" phase, though... all the skinning and messing with skeletons and dismemberment modifiers and nifskope tweaking and texture hooking... but it will be worth it! :D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

To be honest, it's all about repetition - practicing over and over for hundreds of hours, and experimenting. :smile: First in-game test: http://puu.sh/gOCjh/9798403f7a.jpg I was briefly wondering why the pouches were so shiny, but then I remembered the fire spell I had equipped at the time so it's all good. I may have to desaturate the brown a bit, since it looks like it was dyed (although that could because of my ENB). Also, the pants have severe clipping with pretty much every shoe in Skyrim, but I know how I can fix that (a mistake in the dismemberment modifier).Then after that, I need to create a low-weight version, some first-person arms, and then a female version. I was contemplating remaking the female version from scratch, but due to the shape differences in the male and female master robes, I think I may just adapt this one to the female body. Fortunately, there should be enough polys in the cuirass to adequately adapt to the CBBE torso. But for now, I need to fix some things! :yes: EDIT: Well, I can't make a low-weight mesh without Skyrim chucking a hissy fit or entirely ignoring it all together, and fitting the shapes to female contours is very difficult to get right. I did get the first-person arms to work correctly, though, so at least I made some progress. For now, I'm going to have a break from this and maybe come back to it later. In unrelated news, Jeremy Clarkson has been fired from the BBC after punching some guy over a dispute.
