Elsarian
If you do them how bad where they? Did you go so far as to uninstalling the game and calling it quits? Or did you just put it down and persue new and better games? I myself have been playing Oblivion for four years now and am currently starting to fall into that bored feeling. I have over eighty mods installed and am still finding it difficult to keep playing this game. Any suggestions as to what mods I should get that could rekindle my love for this game? And if your having the same problems, feel free to post here.
Eshenaleros
Eh, once I got Oblivion for my computer it stopped being boring, but before then I only had it on my Xbox 360, at which point I discovered mods and handed over the cash that would get it to me as a computer game. Anyways, it really depends on your play style as to what you want to get. Do you like to look at pretty things? If so, download a few new outfits, maybe a mod that changes all the inhabitants of Cyrodiil such as Xeo, and play as before. If you prefer combat and the like, there's mods to spice those up, such as changing your battle animations or introducing new elements altogether. Do you like exploring? There's mods that add entirely new areas to game with various ways of reaching them - Underdark, for instance, as well as ones that flesh out other parts of Tamriel, such as Skyrim. Or do you prefer quests? There are many quests, not the least of which are the three done by Simyaz, and though the big ones are rare, they're totally worth. The best part? you can have up to 250 mods active at any time, so if just one doesn't suit your fancy, get them all! I'm here for more specific suggestions if you need them
documn
Have you tried modding the game yourself? It's a whole nother thing that may rekindle your interest in the game.
hellbishop
Have you tried modding the game yourself? It's a whole nother thing that may rekindle your interest in the game. Yes modding the game to your own personal playstyle is alot of fun and adds an even more personal touch to a game world that can be played and explored in so many ways. Me i just go back to unmodded OBLIVION and play it in a completely different way from my previous character which opens up new areas of enjoyment. Its pretty amazing how detailed all the different systems in the Elder Scrolls are. Just learning everything about alchemy can take a long time. Seeing the different types of improvements in ones character when they go from apprentice to journey man etc is also pretty cool. Even the level scaling of enemies isnt as bad as people make it out to be. Running into a bandit with chainmail was pretty cool i just wish he had been called something else besides a bandit. Perhaps Traitor Soldier who decided to take advantage of the Daedra invasion by robbing and looting may have been better. It would also explain better how all those expensive pieces of armor and weapons were laying about for bandits to get a hold of. Sometimes though just playing another game or doing something else like watching a movie going for a relaxing walk in the woods can stimulate ones interests again. ub3rman123
Indeed, when it got boring for me after around 200 hours of playing it, I started modding and I've now logged three times that in the CS. I still can't enjoy the game itself anymore, though. Dunno why.
Naktis
Yes, I was bored not so long ago but now I spend my spare time learning how to work with Blender and Nifskope. I have plans for modding new stuff but most of them probably going to stay just plans.
BooneoftheWasteland
I have yet to finish this game. I am driven to do so now. I have about a 150 mods installed
BlackerrR
I'm having boring times with the game. I uninstalled it temporarily because in last few weeks I reinstalled it like 10 times. It's a bad thing that if you want to play Oblivion smoothly, you must have 100% fragmented comp, all background application turned off, must have mods that prevent stuttering, CTD, etc...Oblivion is still my favorite game, but I need a break. Demetori
Yeah, there are some times where I feel like turning it off for a while, but when that happens I check out some mods which make it fun again. After playing Oblivion on a laptop lowest settings 5FPS, and then getting a new PC and can now run it on max settings, it really makes thing WAY more fun, you could play it with low settings for a while, and one day turn them all on. It'll make things seem way more interesting.
