Solution for thumbnail issues in Chrome

I made a suggestion in another topic, but it was probably overlooked.

It has already been reported by other members too that clicking repeatedly on images handled by the embedded Highslide Javascript thumbnail viewer will cause these images to shrink into a tiny dot in Chrome (the zoom-in function will stop working after the first click for some reason.) Other browsers seem to be unaffected. Right now I'm using Firefox to view the site.

I checked the linked Javascript module, and I found that it is version 4.1.8.

On the Highslide site, the latest version is 4.1.9, which, according to the release notes, includes a fix for the above mentioned bug (See Highslide changelog here.) I can confirm that the sample images displayed on that site work properly in Chrome. Also, the bug in Highslide v4.1.8 will still kick in on the Nexus sites even if you turn off AdBlock (which I did).

So my recommendation is simple: please upgrade the Highslide script to version 4.1.9 unless there are other issues with the new version that I am unaware of.

I noticed it when you made the original post and I think Dark0ne has as well...there is just a LOT of to-do items on the list. He has also been prepping for the journey that he is currently on.

Thanks for doing the research, it is appreciated greatly.

As a general rule of thumb; if I need to fix something because the user is using an ad blocker or no script it will get put to the bottom of my to-do list. Hopefully the reason is rather obvious.

It will get done though.

Sorry for the reviving of an old post, but I too have been waiting for this fix. I have tried emailing this in several times now to no avail so I guess this is as good as any place. The problem isn't just that we're choosing to use an ad blocking extension, but we cannot even ALLOW ads on your sites and still get full functionality of the image pages. I don't know about anyone else, but when I know that the upgrade is literally replacing one file (with no config modifications needed at all, we're talking a 2 min update max), I'm not going to uninstall AdBlock. This change would allow for us to still allow ads on your sites and get images to work.

The reason I'm unwilling to remove AdBlock isn't because of your pages but because of the ridiculous amounts of ads on 90% of all sites you go to any more. We can't even "pause" the extension while browsing a Nexus site, nor add an exception. I'm just trying to do "smart browsing".

Please guys, I'm beggin ya, update Highslide JS so we don't have to refresh an image page every time we want to look at a picture a second time.

I usually just open the image in a new tab when it does that. Click on the title for the hyperlink and it'll open it full screen.
