Thandal
@Thandal wow, that is waaaayyy to many. i estimate: there's 15 ban report on each page and there's 700+ page so 15X700=....10500 or more user get banned. That's also spread over almost 6 years and almost 4.5 million members. So that's a Ban rate of around 0.2%, two tenths of one percent, (0.002333). Given that, as jim_uk noted, there's been a spike in recent months of people requesting that their accounts be closed, and that the popularity of Skyrim led to an increase in the number of pirates attempting to use the Nexus, the number of bans due to anything else is actually much lower. Please review our Terms of Service (link in the top-right of every page) if not sure of what's acceptable here. As long as one behaves with reasonable politeness, everything will be fine.
bben46
If you really want to look at bans, be sure to check how many are banned for having a second third or more accounts. Or opening another account to bypass a ban - and subtract those from the total. Second accounts tend to be throw away accounts used for flaming or trolling. And very rarely for any good reason. Then there are the spambots - these are not real people, but a bot that has managed to find a loophole - or got in through some poor 3rd world citizen who is paid so much for every hundred accounts he opens on websites with fairly good anti bot software. The spike in people requesting their accounts be closed - the system does not allow closing an account , just banning - many are people who have opened a second account, then discovered we ban for that and we allow them to have one of the accounts voluntarily banned. Now, lets look at how many posts the banned people typically have. Mostly less than 10 with 1 or even none being popular numbers (the none are from chat) Are these really members or just someone who signed up to troll. For those with more than a few posts, look at their back posting history - I do that all of the time - and get to see the pattern of borderline trolling, flaming and innuendo that passes for humor among the kiddies (kiddie encompasses all ages who don't know how to behave). Then there are the flagrant pirates and copyright violators. We don't go looking for them, they come to us. with posts in either the chat or forums that say things like "I downloaded the game from ***** pirate site and the mods don't work!!! you guys gotta tell me what to do" (Go away?) And those who seem to be able to write well enough to post, but can't read a sentence immediately above the submit button for images that says: NO NUDITY ALLOWED Do not post any images of nudity including breasts, genitalia, buttocks or characters that are wearing so little that they might as well be naked (like 1 pixel wide thongs that cover nothing up). If you do not heed this warning it is very likely you will be banned. Believe me there is no shortage of candidates for banning. Just read the Terms of Service. They are written in plain English with no lawyer gibberish and you probably won't have any problems at all.

bben46
Insults of any kind are considered flaming and are grounds for possible banning. Discussing/debating religion - or criticizing someone elses religion will also get you banned.
james234
hey, uh....... for moderator, admin and especially to Dark0one i think your decision for removing the reputation button helps.... thank you again. i think i know your reason for removing the reputation button because the button are sometime abused by some member right? but skyrim nexus still has the rep button somehow........ DrakeTheDragon
but skyrim nexus still has the rep button somehow........ As long as there's no public announcement of the changes I'd just consider them still in progress. I don't know their exact order, but I know they apply these changes to the games' networks one-by-one.

ZeroKing
I have read through the rules and made notes of it so I would properly conduct myself on Nexus. Thanks for making it easy to read, very helpful. It's just sad that some people abuse this site, it should be a gathering of people with a good goal in mind: the enjoyment of modding and sharing that experience with screenshots, mods, and helpful advice. I admit, sometimes I felt trolled by people who left rather "interesting" comments on my mod page before, especially regarding the age-old "lore vs non-lore" concept or "realistic vs fantasy" issue. I always assumed that the game is meant to be enjoyed by the modder's personal taste. Thanks for moderating and keeping up with the troll-slaying, really appreciate it
AVDutch
Insults of any kind are considered flaming and are grounds for possible banning. Discussing/debating religion - or criticizing someone elses religion will also get you banned. I have a question. I just started a debate (http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/811421-your-views-on-ending-human-life-when-is-it-acceptable-a-debate-about-medical-ethics/) that is NOT about religion. However, it is feasible that at some point along the line, if the debate takes off, religion will be brought into it (certainly not by me, I have read the rules! However, someone's opinion regarding this debate could be - at least partially - motivated by religion.) What would one do in a case like that?
