Look at the study of colors. Red and Orange tints would work quite well. Since they both promote creativity and open-mindedness. In the case of Fallout, it can symbolize war and rust.

 

Green is symbolic for nature, which, for the majority of Fallout nature is just plain un-natural. (See Deathclaws)

The big problem is the PSD files for everything other than the background image are on my NAS, which is currently in storage for the next 2 weeks while I've moved out of my house for ongoing house work. Ergo, we can't edit much. At all.

I get the radiation green but it is offputting, maybe making it a darker green or like suggested a teal or baby blue.

 

 

that said might have to start doing daul colors for nexus pages. (joking)

I agree with the "teal" or "vintage pastel turqoise" suggestions. Especially the 1st of Gabet347's mockups. For reference, here are the #HTML codes from the Nexus pages for Fallout 3 & Skyrim compared to the proposed Fallout 4 color and the Vault-Tec "light blue" (which is nearly indistiguishable from the current Skyrim color).
