maybemeandyou
Not driving around like gta or anything but i mean we got tanks, vertiberds, apcs and construction equipment. imagine the uses if you could fire one of these bad boys up. power armor magically still works even when underwater, im sure other machines could too. thoughts? Ethreon
We had the Highwayman back in Fallout 2 as a mean of fast travel, and it works due to the plain, desertic nature of the land. Later on, mods implemented working cars in NV (XRE), or a motorcycle as a fast travel in DC (FWE). As long as the car you don't want a nice, pretty car from before war to run around on the non-existing roads of the Commonwealth.. the XRE guys might do it. maybemeandyou
wouldnt it be sick to climb into a fully functional tank with all the animations and blast at your enemies? id love that...
Warmaker01
Nah. The NPCs already can't take on a decently leveled and equipped player character that isn't even wearing Power Armor, much less a supposed tank.
madmongo
So what if the NPC can't handle it? Who says it has to be a fair fight? I'd be happy with just being able to get a car or a motorcycle going, and I think it could lead to some fun quests trying to hunt down the right parts to make the vehicle usable. I can imagine a 200 year old vehicle breaking down a lot, too, which adds to the fun. That said, I also have to confess I'd get a certain amount of enjoyment out of stealing a vertibird and going on a few strafing runs across the wasteland. Boombro
Boats with a fast travel system are easier to make/
Deleted3507349User
Oh yeah...I definitely want to be able to pilot a boat around, even if I have to row it. Rolling through downtown Boston in one of those tanks is appealing as well. Of course, all of that pales compared to the possibilities inherent in driving around in one of those little Zip three-wheelers. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Zip_%28car%
maybemeandyou
all this would be amazing. it was in in fo2 why not 4? also i imagine the physics engine would have a hard time maintaining everything if you were driving around. my companion already moved a car by running into it.... A motorcycle would be feasible, but a tank.. high maintenance. Though I'd imagine one being quite handy in a big battle.

Nice Idea, actually making it a Quest getting the Vehicle together/working, and then ongoing maintenance necessary . In regards to what Ethreon said - and he is right with that: since the Commonwelath is hilly, rocky, filled with ruins and rabble, how about thinking of a kindof custommade buggy thing ? You know much like "salvage engine and other necessary parts from vehicles, get the required pieces to get that stuff repaired, then put all of it into a custommade steelframe..." - kindof like a Sand or BeachBuggy . Ofc it then would be necessary to create some kind of content which explains how the Player is able to do that all thta kindof stuff . But *heh* you know - QuestMods ?
