So why don't you report that site if you think it's that awful? It's clearly something you feel extremely strongly about, so why don't you attempt to do something about it? Especially if you're convinced there's a solid case to be had.

 

Same with the mods here on the Nexus that you find offensive, why not just report them and see what, if anything, is done about it? The Nexus doesn't joke around with people who violate their policies, or break the laws (and you'll be happy to find that the Nexus servers are located in the UK, and thus not just European but also civilized).

 

Or you could just accept the fact that as disgusting as it is objectifying women (or men for that matter) is not illegal in most of the world (no not even the civilized world), fictional rape isn't against the law (even if I really don't see why the heck you're going on about that since that's one theme this game doesn't deal with, despite the other dark, inhuman, violent themes it has going on), and that just because you make a character look younger than it was designed as it doesn't automatically make you a pedophile (now if you take a fictional underage character and put them in a sexual situation, then yes that does fall under child pornography laws in many countries).

 

Seriously dude, people play games to get away from real life problems for a bit, not to get even more politics shoved down their throat. Don't use mods you find offensive, and if you're that sensitive, don't use mods period. Everything on this site is done for free by a fellow gamer who felt like sharing their work with the community in case someone has similar tastes as them. So instead of spending time here worrying and whining about work done for free, get off the internet, get away from the computer, and take that time and go make a difference somewhere. Volunteer at a women's shelter, organize a rally/protest against objectifying, write your local politicians and get them to do something about the problem, etc. There's thousands of things more productive and more important than complaining here. Up to and including just quietly reporting the mods you think might be violating the site policies and seeing if something is done about it.

I'm not attacking you, i asked where you live because that very often gives a better idea of why someone responds the way they do, i dont have problems with anyone. I live in the Netherlands and sex related stuff only shows up if you specifically look for it. So "Skyrim mods" will not show LL, but "Skyrim nude mods" will. That's how it's regulated to protect children from accidentelly stumbling accros it. For the rest pretty much nothing with the exception of pedophilia is cencored here as it should be imho.

 

You also sure as hell get burned and banned for anything even remotely pedophilia related on LL and it's a free world for most of us, that does not mean i agree with everything, and you should not, especially not rape, pedophilia or any sexual crimes. But if someone makes a rape mod, which might tell something disturbing about that person, but it's not a crime, and i'm not going to want to report them to the authorities for it. As soon as you start and try prohibiting mods like this you loose grip on things and it turns for the worse.

 

And yes what's happening over here caused by so called refugees is a huge problem, but nothing new, the scale is though, and as far as i'm concerned punishment for sexual crimes can never be to high and those refugees, minor or not, that abuse our women and hospitality should be kicked all the way back to where they came from asap without a trial whatsoever.

Its likely the user base. The game has only been out a few months, so a lot of younger folk are playing it. They'll move on eventually. Also, things like 'presets' for face or body are quite easy to upload as a "mod". Which brings me to a different point, not technically related but I think still relevant.

 

The easier something is to accomplish, the more of it you will see. Let's use female body presets as an example. You literally download the Bodyslide/Outfit Studio program and use your mouse to move sliders back and forth. There is but one file needed to share and that's it. You're done. No need for any real skills. And so this simple procedure matched with a younger (dare I say immature) user base gives you the excess and sometimes extreme.

 

Same can be said for facial presets. You play around with the character menu in-game, upload your save and then anyone can use the simple Face Ripper tool to add that facial preset to an existing character. Again, no real skill involved.

 

Also to note, since we are referring to visuals - the current tools available. We are so early in the development stage for third party programs that allow the alteration/creation of 3d assets. And many of the tutorials found here or elsewhere use the female form as an example. As a person aspiring to become a better 3d modeler, you are not forced - but feel it necessary - to work with the same examples. It becomes difficult to translate the tutorials onto a different set of shapes. I can flesh this out more later. Need to eat pizza, getting hungry !

 

Imagine, though, if Bethesda FINALLY gave us a real program to use for their 'nif' mesh format. To anyone who knows what I mean, well I'm sure you'd agree. If we had simpler tools to work with, we'd see FAR FAR FAR more diversity in 3d assets. Yes, we'd see even more bizarre female rubbish - but I'd bet my wages that we'd see some extremely kick-hass mods. I know there are tons of talented artists who would love nothing more than a simpler setup to use for 3d assets and they'd share some really cool stuff. Just saying.

There's more to it than just the age of the authors who are making younger looking female mods Brokefoot. There are allot of Japanese and Korean authors creating content and they see a white 24 year old female as looking like she is in her 40's because their mid twenties females look like a young teen to westerners. To westerners they look like teens but to them they look like an adult.

 

As for those complaining about not having enough sluty male mods compared to female, I have one thing to say to you. Make your own. There are millions of tutorials for 3D modeling between 3DS Max and Blender, there's millions of tutorials for Photoshop and GIMP for the textures. Mod authors create what they want and if they are not creating what you want you have no excuse for not creating your own to suit you. The tools are available and even free ones, the tutorials are just a Google search away to learn how to use the tools. There's plenty of tutorials to get the models you created into being useable in a Bethesda game if you read tutorials made for the older titles.

 

As for censorship... you have the tools to censor whatever you want. If you don't like sex or nude mods then use the tools you have to hide them.

Ever seen what the extreme forms of objectification (beatings, rape, acid attacks, etc) do to a woman? I have, many times... and you can never get used to seeing the next woman in front of you on that gurney... it's HORRIBLE. I can look at someone with half their skull missing and not miss a beat as I work on them... but that... I can't... it's the one thing in ER that I will never get used to...

See, as I said I'm in Germany... but I'm not German. I'm originally from Portugal and I moved here years ago to finish my studies (German medicine schools are very good) and I ended up staying here.

Now, I have to be afraid of walking in the streets because I look 100% foreigner. I have that typical Southern European face/complexion and my Portuguese accent is heavy even if I speak German. I also have to be afraid that my girlfriend gets randomly attacked by those guys for no reason other than "women are objects".

 

What infuriates me about people saying "it's just mods" or "objectification isn't illegal" is that they don't remember the horrible consequences of when that objectification is taken to extremes. Those "migrants" that we have invading can tell you guys a lot about those extremes... and I've seen more than my share of what those extremes can do... and will continue to see it as they roll into the ER...

 

So, I'm passionate about this? Yes... but I have my reasons to be.

 

I like tasteful nude/erotica as much as anyone else... but I hate what's going on lately.

I think I can safely say that the "immature" mods you're talking about are made by and aimed at a player base that is not young or immature at all. The most popular mods, by far, for all Bethesda games, are the ones that make the women sexy.

I don't know the specific mods the OP is talking about, but since we're talking about face mods, I think the answer is common sense: Many people find a youthful appearance to be more attractive, and that's true of both men and women. Surely you've seen the ads for cosmetic products promising, "younger, clearer, smoother skin". It's a selling point, because people prefer it. Without seeing the specific mods, I have no idea what facial features were changed to make them more "child-like", but some people do prefer a more cutesy look. I personally do too. For example, between Natalie Portman and Alison Brie, both attractive, but I find Alison more attractive because she's cute as a button.

 

I think people are overboard on labeling everything as "objectifying women". There is a big difference between objectification, and attraction. There is nothing wrong with someone making women in their game look the way they find attractive, even if it's not particularly realistic. Games are a fantasy world, after all. There's a reason porn actresses look the way they do, because a lot of people find them attractive.

 

Besides, porn actresses are people too. Who am I to judge? Seems like a lot of judgmental people are patting themselves on the back for being so pro-woman, but consider how dangerous that kind of attitude is. That opens the door for abhorrent ideas like blaming rape victims for dressing "too sexy" or that a woman deserved to be murdered for being a prostitute.
