JimboUK
so OEM is a good thing then? just wanted to make sure if i buy something thats OEM that im not just gunna get the part without any wires or cables or anything like that It should mean it's not rebadged but as Fonger points out it also could mean it's generic, I've never taken any notice of the OEM thing on product descriptions and can't say I've ever ended up with something other than what I wanted. Ghogiel
OEMs are whole sale items. ie not retail. They are more or less the same as the retail minus instaltion guides, boxes, sometimes cables, in the case of cpus no heatsink/fan etc. Companies like Dell or PC world buy them to make prebuilds from. nosisab
It is applied on the software licensing too, where it means it is a limited license attached with that machine and can not be used in another rig... as to say, you can't use that copy of Windows to install on another machine, even if the original is dead/deactivated.
