I don't think its dying. In the short amount of time Fallout 4 has been around it has almost as many mods as Fallout 3 has for its lifespan. Not saying that's anyway scientific, I think in a few years we'll see a ton of stuff. That being said, is it perfect? Hell no, the voiced PC could be way better, but I don't think its any worse than 3 or New Vegas.

Honestly I just think a lot of people had far too lofty expectations, or putting 3 and New Vegas on a pedestal. Or they like to complain about things like Bethesda.net (which isn't a kick in the groin. in my opinion a very good thing) Seems like the fun thing to do is whine about some element of this game.

Could you enlighten us on why exactly bethesda.net is a good thing? I haven't seen anything positive about it, quite the contrary: absolutely disastrous forum software (Jive), rampant mod theft, entitlement, whines, insults, death threats, as good as no moderation, no permanent bans even if you get caught red handed stealing stuff, and the list goes on. Hell, it even makes the steam forums look professional in comparison. So I'm really curious.

Dunno about him, but I view Bethesda.net as a net positive influence because it's made the developers and staff more engaged. Before you go and laugh yourself silly, consider that in various threads, it's not unheard of for one or more of their team to show up and answer a question or participate in the general flow of things. I think this is largely due to the fact that they know they need to in order to make console modding the success they want it to be.

Now, granted, Jive sucks and was probably one of the worst packages they could have chosen, but they've realized this and have already publicly stated they're moving to something else.

As for moderation, I think you guys are all living in the past. Things changed. People are getting booted, mod theft is down to a trickle after the Steam ID link became enforced, and nasty comments are being removed on a regular basis. They still have improvements to make, but they've made plenty so far. Those of us with attention spans longer than a gnat have actually noticed this

Nobody can seriously think the Steam forums are more professional though. That's like the one thing that would have been worse than Jive.

I have to admit I haven't visited beth.net in more than 6 or 7 weeks so my opinion is based on then, I'm happy to hear there are improvements. As for steam yeah, that was figuratively speaking comparing the plague to cholera lol

Sure its simply not because they were wanting to talk to you?

Quite sure. I wasn't the only person to get developer responses for things. I honestly wonder just how many people making comments about this have actually tried to USE their forums, despite them being woefully inadequate as a forum package.

Mostly I see it as both another avenue for interaction, and console mods. Sure there is some kinks and it needs better management, though it has improved. And as far as entitlement goes, I've always seen it as whiners on both sides to begin with.

fallout 4 overall is better than any of the other open world type games imo. the only thing that really bothers me is the guns. no variety when compared to fonv and fo3. i like the uique varients instead of this legendary stuff. the mod system is linear when it comes to reciver mods, all the guns are for lefties, there arent any mod friendly weapon animations and these pipe guns are f*#@ing rediculous. irl they would blow up in your face. and theyre every f*#@ing where. im here with 50 10mm pistols and 45 hiunting rifles and these losers only have pipe guns. there needs to be a replacer mod for that. another problem is the stroy line. i agree there should be more options all the way through. there should be way more advanced story line strucutre than in all of the previous games. make the settlers less pathetic, make he minutemen less pathetic, make the railroad less pathetic, make the brotherhood less asshole techno nazi regime, and make the institute into the enclave. it would be cool if the gunners were joinable. but a much mnore dynamic storyline is really what everyone wants. not just go here kill that, rtb .
