I think that list proves exactly how desperate people are to say the scene is dying.

I think your reply proves your inability to read threads in a forum. Why you gotta act like the forum police?

is there a similar number of mods (high quality or otherwise) as there was this point in time after Skyrim's release?

When the CK finally released, Skyrim modding exploded. Seriously, Skyrim modding took off like a rocket. It's kind of unfair to compare the success of Skyrim with Fallout 4. Skyrim had many advantages over it, like bigger fanbase, earlier release date, etc. Two different franchises. But this kind of makes me feel once again that the success of Skyrim as well as the current mods out already, have caused people to have higher standards and expectations out of mod authors for Fallout 4. It doesn't work that way.

It makes more sense to compare Fallout 4 with Fallout 3, and as of now, Fallout 4 is doing a lot better.

tl;dr people need to be patient.

Yes that list does kind of say that Skyrim modding took off slow, and it in fact it did not.. Mods that add content aren't the be all and end all. Remember the smaller mods that sprung out of the woodworks that were just as innovating. Destruction and the magic system in general was one of the first things that got heavily modded haha.

I don't think the modding scene is dead, some mod authors could be trying to learn the new advance features of the ck and may even have work out and in private beta testing trying to get there mod working right, be patient and the mods well come around eventually!..

Because I hate to see animals abused. Even dead horses.

I've got over 5500hrs (five-thousand five-hundred) in FO4 and tried over a thousand mods, so far.

All I can say is that instead of being dead, the modding of FO4 on the contrary is growing. Sure, a lot of mods have been abandoned. Some because the modder took on what in retrospect seemed more than he/she could chew; most because of being mods that corrected small bugs which over time got either integrated into the Unofficial Patch or got redundant by Bethesda updates.

Also, most mods don't need updates as a lot of them are texture overhauls.

Mods that add stand-alone armour and/or weapons or whatever often don't need updates except when they rely either on DLC or on other mods that in turn rely on something else that needs updating. As such, some mods are abandoned because somewhere in the chain of dependencies someone bailed out, leaving all the rest stranded...

Now that the last of the DLC has been released, modders will finally be able to make AIOs and whatnot and the more serious modding that adds DLC sized content will take place...

You also musn't forget that the Elder Scrolls series is a fantasy universe where anything is possible, making it such that loads of mods can be made for, say, Skyrim that absolutely wouldn't fit in the FallOut universe because the latter, although also a fantasy, has a serious foot in reality...

Slowing down maybe but what I will say is that its not likely to die anytime soon. There is still another major dlc due i believe which may inspire many mod makers if indeed the Enclave are involved as is rumored.

And what DLC would that be? I thought that Nuka World was the final official DLC to be released? Did I miss something?

Also mod authors are waiting for F4SE to get additional functions like that were available for FONV and Skyrim. Until then there are thing they just can't do right now.

There are only 8760 hours in a year. 9336 7200 hours since fallout 4 released. that means you have been playing some 19 hours a day since release.

Ie 5 hours a day to sleep and 0 hours doing anything else.

Actually its most likely me wishful thinking after reading http://www.itechpost.com/articles/21240/20160627/fallout-4-fallout-4-update-nuka-world-fallout-4-nuka-world-last-fallout-4-dlc-bethesda-release-more-2017.htm

That article being written in June you'd think they'd know better. The 6 DLCs were well known by then and everyone knew by that point that Nuka-World was the last one. The only thing I've ever heard about FO4 in 2017 is the possibility of VR support.
