As far as Bethesda seeking to destroy the modding community, it is not. It is quite clear to me that the makers of the Script Extender or their brethren will make one for Remaster.

This is not an effort to destroy the modding community, it is Bethesda doing what it can with its own intellectual property, and still leaving the door open for modders to start anew.

As automated installer is practically mandatory to help newbies to install mods, I'm sure their will be a format supported (or a totally new installer format).

Props on the decision to move forward instead of iterate legacy code for another decade. Change is scary - people get used to stuff and they want it to never change, just get perpetually better. Technology doesn't work that way though and it's important to know when to take that step.

 

I look forward to the new manager, at this point juggling both NMM and MO to get Skyrim just the way I like and not still run is such a hassle I don't even bother with new mods, even if I see ones I like. A big part of that is Skyrims limitations I know but a single, refined, unified tool? Gimmie.

As far as Bethesda seeking to destroy the modding community, it is not. It is quite clear to me that the makers of the Script Extender or their brethren will make one for Remaster.

This is not an effort to destroy the modding community, it is Bethesda doing what it can with its own intellectual property, and still leaving the door open for modders to start anew.

Both my original comment and my response to you were tongue-in-cheek jokes to a daft OP, lighten up.

We can always rely on you to come save the day as soon as the jokes or even legit comments come out at Bethesda's expense, right on cue. I am sorry for speaking ill of Bethesda, even in jest.

I'm also looking forward to this new manager. When starting modding I tried out NMM but had so many issues that I decided to go for manual installation. At some point I lost overview and problem grew too much so I started from scratch. I looked into MO at that time (I think 2014) but I did not like the base concept. I just wanted to have something so I can control my manual installation.

 

And the best for that is the successor to OMM, namely TMM - TesModManager. Located at http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/5010/? . It's simple to use, has everything I need and of course some issues I learned to live with. One is that often I need to repack archives because it does have issues with ESP/ESM inside a "data" folder in the archive. It is much faster than recreating it using an interally used OMOD (Oblivion) or the newer OMOD2 format. Luckily most big mods have fomod which work nowadays flawless for me so I don't need to repack them.

 

I'm very disappointed that this gem of mod manager was not mentioned in your article.
