I am willing to bet good money that the script extender will become available on the Creation Club once it starts up.

There would literally be zero reason for bethesda to pay someone to make SKSE for them. Besides, currently exisiting "mods" cannot be brought over to the Creation Club. In addition to that, I doubt Sony and Microsoft would ever allow the Script Extender onto their consoles anyway.

The Project is not dead, they just have Jobs and personal lives, that take a much higher priority. I am extremely thankful that they are overhauling their script extender for the 64bit version. Also the original came out quite a while after the first skyrim's release anyhow. People seem to not realize what a colossal effort all the coding for the script extender takes when they have free time to work on it.

SKSE64 is not dead but postponed. I personally expect a realease end of this year. Of course this is nothing guaranteed or official. At least i would expect some status update by end of this year. Let's wait and see. Most important Mods beside SKSE have already been released. Perkus Maximus just has been uploaded today for the SE...Literally hundred thousands of players, if not even millions, are waiting for SKSE64.

I think the fact that Bethesda did not market/charge for SkyrimSE in the long run has been detrimental for development associated with SE. If they had for instance, marketed it as Skyrim 2, they could have paid for SKSE to be developed for SE. And yes, some players would have complained and refused to pay for something that they felt should have been done in the first place but I think many more would have gladly paid for a much more stable upgrade that included a 64 bit SKSE.

Bethesda would have no reason to pay for someone to develop SKSE as we know it. If they were inclined to do anything like that, they'd have updated Papyrus to have those functions built in natively instead. I'm not sure why people have this idea that SKSE needs to be written as a dll injector doing things some AVs find suspicious when the company has the source code to their game and can modify it as they see fit. They certainly wouldn't need to pay the SKSE team to do the job when they have their own internal developers.
