XanAlderon
I much preferred the storyline of Morrowind. Also isn't there an N.P.C conversation in Oblivion thats talks about Jiub (the prisoner from the starter boat) being the neverine and killing all the cliffracers. It made me laugh so hard!! flobalob
Then again. I can't create a levitation 300 for 240 seconds potion in OB ;D. Personally I just relied of the travel stained pants is MW. Then you can casually saunter over the Ghostfence, or even the entire map at 15,000 ft, if you so desire. araashan
Ah, the good ol' travel stained pants, the one item I used with every single character. Morrowind really was a great game. I really love the setting, and they're so many factions you can join, you can even join the legion and become a guard! One thing that was cool about it is also how hard it was to get the full daedric armor. Even then, the thing would be hidden under a robe, so I could get one more enchantment. (On top of wearing a shirt, belt and pants under my armor.)
burb
if there was a sliding scale of creative freedom with an arcade game being at the bottom and a pen and paper RPG at the top, I reckon Morrowind would be 7/8 of the way up and Oblivion would be 5 or 6/8. I prefer Oblivion for the combat and looks, but there is so much more freedom. Without the need for the NPCs to have voice files for every exchange, the conversations are a lot longer and the persuasion etc is alot more interesting. Plus you can have odd pauldron/gloves, make pretty much any enchantment you can afford (I had a Deadric Sheild which summoned 4 monsters and could fly fast all day long). Then again, that did make it quite easy to cheat the game. I might try and go back one day...see if i can hack it. Fallout 3 looks good but i need my swords and sorcery. XanAlderon
I miss the ability to hide your armor under a robe (with the exeption of pauldrons) I could walk around looking like a peasent, but with daedric armor under his robe.

XanAlderon
Fargoth is sort of like the adoring fan of morrowind. It would be so cool to see the epic battle between the two of them.
Camonna
For the reasons stated above, and many, many more Morrowind will always be better than Oblivion in my books. Don't get me wrong, Oblivion was good, but Morrowind just had this amazing feel to it when I first started playing, and that feeling lasted after a full year of extensively playing it. Hell, I've just recently reinstalled morrowind, loaded up a bunch of mods, and have been playing it from time to time on my Computer, I've actually got an idea for in game roleplaying that can be done mutually, that I may elaborate on with a friend or two (Rohok, who is a recently returning member, as I am)
dragonalumni
hey--- i just joined this thread -- i read all 7 pages -- morrowind is that good and ppl talking about it reminds me of good times. although i haven't finished the expansions in either morrowind or oblivion (i suppose i will do that this winter? -.-) i didbeat the main quest of ES 2, ES 3 and ES4. that should more or less prove how die hard i am about this series. the one thing i wanted to add to this conversation. i don't know if any of you could handle the "dos graphics" of ES 2, daggerfallbut when you all compared morrowind to oblivion as per the freedom and improved gameplay, that is how i feel about ES2 over ES3. ie ES 2 > ES 3 > ES 4. it's a little bit sad like that but it's the truth. ES2 had something like 100,000 "locations" --- somethinglike 20 provinces with 5,000 locations each, usually 4000 dungeons, 100 cities, 900 -- other. it was crazy. it also featured the bestlevel system of the 3 games, imho. the spell system was also really insane at the end of my best game i had made a spell that couldregen my health 100/second and lasted like six hours. that didn't matter if a greater lich found me while i wasn't absolutely ready itcould kill me instantly. also the sounds in that game, like morrowind scared me a lot more than oblivion when hitting the dungeons. well.. in a word-- for all it's faults -- this series is amazing. i'm concurrently playing all 3. unfortunately i lost my es2 and es3 main quest completed games years ago, but i have fun just loadingthem up and playing for a while. have fun raiding the dungeon! NewtC
Cammona, I'll have to agree. Morrowind is in my opinion the best of the three. Sometimes I wish I could just wipe my memory, and start the game as a new player once more.
