I much prefer NMM. I have no programming experience at all, and it is by far the easiest to understand. I would prefer they keep it like NMM in the new one.

So If I get this right, Vortex will be using a form of virtualisation, but instead of having a clean Steam folder like MO gives, it will still have files in it from the mods? But we can revert to a clean state with the press of a button? I love MO's virtualisation, but if Tannin says that virtualisation like MO gives problems and this method of virtualisation is better, then I guess I believe him. Can someone confirm?

I much prefer Mod Organizer and it's U.I. over Nexus Mod Manager. Guess what? Who cares? This is new, different, Neither and both...TOTALLY NEW. Get over your current opinions, take a deep breath and try it. CREATE NEW AND EXCITING OPINIONS about a NEW offering. (YAY!).

Uhh,...Alpha test link not forth coming...Depression and anxiety beginning...

Keep up the GREAT WORK!

Hey Tanin42,...Come on brother,...slip me the link...I am good for it. No one is looking this way...I NEED IT MAN.

:geek:

For general consumption: Please do not hate me because I tried Mod Organizer and liked it better...I am not smug or Superior of visage, thought or deed. I am excited for the new offering which should be Superior to both previous offerings due to the collusion of the minds on this project. Seriously, please do not allow this to become a common pissing contest. This is going places hopefully.

Ya, I've put all modding on hold, and even uninstalled Skyrim and FO4 until Vortex comes out. No point in putting together an installation unless I've got a proper manager. New Vegas is still running with the MO installation though. Still need to finish that game lol

It's going to be quite a while before anything is out for public consumption still. Many months.

Just an FYI. Edited by Dark0ne

That's ok. Take as long as you guys need. I know it will be better than what's available right now. I've got a couple of MMOs and other games that need playing, not to mention real life stuff.

I am glad to see this happen. I much preferred Mod Manager because it was much more powerful and far more stable. I had so many issues with NMM over the years and often would get frustrated with the way it worked at times. I see people on here saying NMM was easier for them to use, but I always found Mod Manager to be vastly more intuitive. It had a little bit of a learning curve at first because it was different, but once you understood the basics, it was hard to imagine how you ever used NMM. I still remember back in the early days of NMM, where it was buggy and had frequent problems that continued on to the present. With a new design for the program I don't see how things couldn't be anything but better.
