VulcanTR
Since the release of SE, i am waiting for SKSE. I have abandoned this game and waited for it and i said "ok nevermind, go play another games, developers of skse are human too, they have their lives, families, jobs, don't expect it too early" but today i have realized topic is closed. I haven't created this topic for the blame skse developers. I just want to ask "should i wait or not" because oldrim gets unlimited crashes for me https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5359835-someone-can-end-this-misery-after-6-years-i-want-to-play-without-ctd/page-4 Should i stop waiting for skse and uninstall the game? Because i cannot play oldrim without ctd (if you check topic you will see) and people say SE optimization is much better than oldrim. But it is totally meaningless without skse sorry.. Still i haven't played SE but already made search about the settings of mods without SkyUI but all of them was limited. Should i expect it's release and wait or start to play different games? RichWebster
I'd put don't wait, just play SSE now. The benefits far outweigh the use of some mods right now. And it may come eventually, who knows.
Arthmoor
Agreed, and there's mods that used to "need" SKSE that have since been reworked to disconnect themselves from the requirement before they were then ported to SSE. If you want to play Skyrim there's no sense in waiting - grab SSE and have fun.

My 4 of 10 hardcore mods not available for SE (skytweak, banknotes, item degradation, papermap without zoom and player markers) and i am hardcore, roleplay player. I cannot play with these things. But at least i need to tweak settings with skyteak and need banknotes for the convert gold into the papers.
QuagaarWarrior
Assuming your oldrim isn't working you may as well play Special Edition. There's plenty of great mods available. I'm hoping that because of the delay with SKSE more mod authors will look at ways of porting oldrim mods without that dependency. Like Arthmoor did with recently with PCS (thanks Arthmoor!) RichWebster
i noticed modders gotten very inventive too by pass the requirment of skseYou'll find a lot of the time some things were always possible without SKSE, just less of a pain in the ass. Mercury71
I would say play SE if you have so much trouble with oldrim.Or play them both like i do, but that is, of som odd reason, not thinkable for some people.
