SabreNation
So I decided to do a completely fresh install of Skyrim SE and all my mods. I made my way to Nexus as found that they are clearly making the hard push over to Vortex. OK. Fine, whatever. So I download and install Vortex, activate a Premium Membership since I know I'm about to be doing a whole lot of downloading. My download speed is peaking at 1Mbps and most of the time it's more like 500Kb per second and that is with Vortex seemingly forcing only one download at a time. In NMM, I could have 3-5 files downloaded at once and get 1+Mbps PER mod. What is the deal with the trash tier download speeds in Vortex? And what's with capping it at one concurrent download for even premium members? It's been a whole 10 minutes and I'm already about to start searching for a method to go BACK to NMM because so far I am not impressed. Is there something I need to do to fix the download speeds or increase the number of concurrent downloads? I didn't see anything in the Settings. literallybyronic
It's not Vortex, it's the servers. They've been crap since earlier this afternoon. Was working fine all last night and this morning, then suddenly I'm getting constant timeouts, corrupted downloads, downloads stopping and starting multiple times before they finished. And I'm using MO2 so I know it's not from Vortex. Just tried activating premium to see if it'd help but no dice. Downloads go a bit faster in the short bursts they do work in but still getting slowdowns, timeouts, etc. At points it's gotten so bad that even the web pages won't load. Super annoying. Saw a few others on FB and Twitter complaining as well but haven't seen any staff address it anywhere yet AFAIK.
FlameFury15
I can confirm it's not a Vortex exclusive myself too. I'm not premium etc but have noticed mods taking much longer. and I been using Vortex for months now. At first I actually thought it mgiht have just been my own interwebz messing up, but since others having problem. I think we can say people are looking to mod their new xmas present etc now
Tannin42
a) Vortex doesn't limit download speeds b) Vortex does support concurrent downloads, if you're premium you can configure that in settings. However, vortex will use up to 4 threads for a single file - Vortex prioritizes getting one file fast over starting multiple slow downloads at once. I just changed to premium as I thought that would help, but my downloads in Vortex seem to slow down after downloading a few mods. So: the first couple download super-fast, and then they suddenly slow down. Even when I am only downloading ONE mod at a time, it is super slow :( Any suggestions on what to try are appreciated. I even tried manually downloading to see if that was the problem...it wasn't, that works fine.

A lot of problems people are having is because they upgrade to premium without restarting Vortex
Dark0ne
And any downloads you started before you went Premium will remain capped, as they are being downloaded through the normal member download servers rather than the Premium ones. When you go Premium, you need to start your downloads again.
