Why is the game launcher destroying everything?!

I initially thought that this was an issue with Fallout: New Vegas but it appears that this just seems to be a thing that happens with Vortex. I described it detail here over on the New Vegas board.

Long story short: I loaded and installed a bunch of mods via Vortex. It works fine. If the launcher for the game comes up at all after I've modded it most of the meshes disappear - seemingly only meshes that have absolutely nothing to do with any of the mods I've installed. This has happened to me twice now.

I'd rather not delete everything and reinstall it all for a third time. I'm already pissed off enough. If anyone can help me, I will worship you.

Here's my modlist copied from LOOT, but I don't believe any of this has to do with the meshes vanishing.

Please pardon my vast stupidity, for I am both really bad at this and very angry.

I thought that Vortex automatically did that.

I played around with the archive invalidation switch thingy in the settings and it changed nothing, though I will freely admit that I was probably doing it wrong.

How should I go about invalidating my archive with Vortex?

Your meshes have not vanished or been destroyed. Your meshes are there but not being utilized. Archive invalidation is designed to solve that problem.

Vortex does not automatically turn on archive invalidation, as you have discovered. Two necessary conditions for Vortex archive invalidation to work are the following: (1) an enabled "Gamebryo Archive Invalidation" extension, and (2) a writable "Fallout.ini" file. Check the Vortex extensions page for the former and the Windows "My Games" folder to see if these conditions have been met.

Vortex archive invalidation has been discussed at some length in this forum. You may want to do a search.

A. Archive invalidation is enabled by doing the following:

1. Switch on BSA Redirection.

2. Set the dashboard button to "Yes."

B. If Vortex AI is working properly, you should have the following:

1. A "Vortex - BSA Redirection.bsa" in your game data folder.

2. The bottom four lines in your "Fallout.ini."

Agusta Calidia, your step by step instructions are incredibly helpful.

Unfortunately, despite following those steps, Vortex AI must not be working properly because my fallout.ini does not say that exactly and I can find no Vortex Redirection. At least the issue of why the game is messing up has been identified, but Vortex is not doing what it's supposed to.
