I wasn't expecting a dissertation on support groups in society. Anyway I ended up with some looping warnings about "cyclic rules" and I can't move anything now and the game will not start. I think I screwed it up further when I tried to move the mods. So I'm thinking of just deleting the whole thing and just reinstalling vortex and try again, this time I will use what Augusta and rmm200 said. Thanks for the support, group! Really thanks. I would not do anything drastic. If it were me:I would disable all mods (Ctl A in the mods window, then disable button at bottom)Re-enable the not-a-problem modsSlowly add back your load-at-end mods, doing what we suggested. If you get cyclic errors, come back. Those are easy to resolve.
Guest deleted34304850
if you have a cyclic rule - make sure that the mods mentioned are in the same group.
Skrag01
Load Order sorting isn't always correct, you do know that? The main problem I was having was trying to get WICO to work with Bijin and Pandorable NPCS mod and it is incredibly frustrating to not get the brown face bug. We need the load order to be manually adjustable like in NMM.
Guest deleted34304850
The load order is 100% manually adjustable, you just do that manual load ordering in a different way. As posted elsewhere if you have a concrete example of a mod being sorted in the wrong place do the following; 1. contact the mod author and show them that their mod is being ordered incorrectly and advise them to contact the LOOT developers so they can update LOOT correctly.2. Create a LOAD BEFORE/LOAD AFTER rule so that the mod in question is ordered correctly, either before a mod that requires it, or after a mod that it requires. Can you share your concrete example of a mod being ordered incorrectly, because that will help everyone to be aware of the issue and get it fixed? Ordeiberon
I am going to have to join in on requesting a return to manual plugin ordering. Not only because not everything works with loot as noted, and with custom work I need to easily see all my plugins as I am working to edit them and merge them. For example I am building a new player home mod that uses several smaller plugins. I keep them together in the load order to verify they work with everything below it. Then merge. Same if I build a custom clothing mod. I am using hundreds of plugins so this big font with so much space in between is making it very difficult to see the correct order. I know I can turn off auto sort, but I can't organize the plugins easily. Same goes for the main storage btw. I use so many mods I need to be able to close down sorted items to work with just the items I need. Also already Vortex is giving me constant errors that it can't parse several of my custom mods, maybe once they are released it might work, but in the meantime I want to be able to see my plugins easily and keep my load order without getting constant errors. It's not going to happen with Vortex.I was one of the people who kept demanding it, until I learned how to use Vortex, now I realize, Vortex doesn't need it, but it still can be done through rules.I just set up a manual load order in Oblivion to accommodate FCOM, although I really didn't have to do much to get the load order sorted the way I wanted it, because Vortex had already done quite a lot of the sorting for me. Also, Vortex was made for the end user in mind, I would suggest, since you're making custom mods, that you use a different mod manager for making mods, and a different one for playing. If you want manual Load Order Sorting, then use MO2, or NMM
Zanderat
Can't you turn off off auto sorting in Vortex? That is all you need.

Seems to work fine for a new game without changes but yeah, for mod making it is keeping me from easily determining what is affecting what and categorizing my mods to reference. But Dear God, the load order sorting system is HORRIBLE. It needs to go back to the manual movement of NMM but with the sorting function in place, it is very hard to sort a load order manually with Vortex.Absolutely agree with this. I’m flabbergasted that they have taken away the intuitive features of NMM’s load order sorting (move mods up for earlier loading, move them down for later loading). It’s like we’ve warped back 30 or 40 years before drag and drop became widespread. The thing is, there are hundreds of mods we have to sort manually for one reason or another, plus, sometimes the rules we set can’t even be applied (for reasons I can’t even begin to work out), so manual sorting is a feature that we SORELY need.
