wcurtin1962
I'm not seeing mods I in stalled thru Fallout 4. Bethesda shows mods I have installed via Vortex. Not showing in load order (Vortex). I'm using Windows 7 64 bit, 8GB of ram. Vortex 0.18.
HadToRegister
Vortex only manages mods installed through Vortex, just like every other mod manager out there, why would you think that Vortex would display the mods you installed with Fallout 4 in its load order?Vortex has no idea you installed them,The reason Vortex mods show up in Fallout 4, is because they're supposed to, just like with any other Bethesda game, whether you install mods manually, with OBMM, MO, MO2, NMM, Vortex etc, they're ALWAYS going to show up in the Bethesda Game, but they won't show up in MO, MO2, NMM, or Vortex if you install the mods with Bethesda's built in Mod Installer. wcurtin1962
It seems if it's suppose to detect and resolve mod conflicts it would have to see all the mods installed on a game. Thanks anyways.
HadToRegister
It seems if it's suppose to detect and resolve mod conflicts it would have to see all the mods installed on a game. Thanks anyways. It DOES detect and resolve mod Conflicts, with the MODS IT INSTALLS. How is Vortex supposed to know about all the files and folders you installed with a completely different mod manager? You're asking for something that no other mod manager can do either.
BigBizkit
You are asking Vortex to manage what are essentially unmanaged files. That cannot work as HadToRegister pointed out. Vortex cannot "see" files you put into your data folder via another method than through Vortex itself, with the exception of plugin files - those will be recognised though it won't allow you to do any sort of actual mod file conflict management either. wcurtin1962
Ok, thanks for the info. The first mods I installed in Fallout 4 I found here I installed manually. Plus the ones I installed thru Bethesda. I have done a lot with these mods. If I was to uninstall these mods and reinstall them thru Vortex will the work I have done be reestablished? Rattledagger
but they won't show up in MO, MO2, NMM, or Vortex if you install the mods with Bethesda's built in Mod Installer. While I don't have Fallout 4, I would expect any mods for Fallout 4 delivered through Bethesda is similar to SSE, there all mods ifrom Bethesda is AFAIK only delivered as plugin + bsa-archive. Since bsa-archive follows the order of the plugin and Vortex should show all plugins currently residing in the data-directory on the plugins-tab, Vortex will show such mods, but not on the mods-tab and you can't uninstall the mods in Vortex. BTW, MO does show any mod installed by another mod manager or manually to the data-directory as "unmanaged" in MO's left panel in addition to any plugins in the right panel, while Vortex only shows the plugins. Zanderat
I *think* if you remove the manually installed mods and then install them exactly as is, via Vortex, your game will be OK. However, YMMV and all that.
