well i use vortex, but honestly, i don't understand what you wrote.

from what i can make out, you ran a poll, no idea what the poll was about, but you ran it, and some people use vortex and some people don't? is that it?

deploy mods

from the response i seen of people who tried Vortex within the groups are all pretty much the same which is that it "seems great at first but quickly becomes awkward, clunky and not flexible.

One of the things users hated the most was the constant deployment of mods which you need to wait for after each small edit within Vortex.

With that said there are a few that spoke good things about Vortex but it's very few and far in-between.

are you not smart enough to make your own load order or do you need someone else to do that for you in a mod pack? There is no such thing as a perfect load order, so mod packs will just be someone else problems that will now be your problems on your computer and in your game.

Most people don't like Vortex and many don't like that the Nexus is constantly pushing it on their users.

how it looks is 100% irrelevant given that it can be completely customised to how you like it. it's how it works which is important and it works so much better than NMM.

but you are correct - no-one is forced into using it. contrary to some of the nonsense posts you'll find scattered across nexusmods.

You can? This was my number one complaint about vortex when i first installed it, and i couldn't find any way to do it. Care to tell me how?

Wow, seriously?

SETTINGS----------->THEME------->Clone Theme

Change the Colors, Fonts, Margins (How squished the UI is) etc.

Amazing that people don't even bother looking at the SETTINGS Menu.

It's the first thing I do with an new software,

I immediately go to SETTINGS or PREFERENCES to see what I'm allowed to change.

The old Argumentum ad populum again

"MOST PEOPLE don't like Vortex"

No, only the loudest ones with no intention of using it don't.

Nobody is "pushing" anything on you.

That's one of the most frustrating and uninformed claims that shows that people just go by hearsay rather than fact when it comes to Vortex and the Nexus.

Also, for the people who can't be bothered to scroll down a page.

Right here, you can download the newest version of NMM, it's still being updated, and people are free to use it and all of it's "Lay there and do nothing" glory.

Now, click on DOWNLOAD VORTEX, now, SCROLL DOWN the page, and you'll find this...

Be sure to click on "Community Release" for the latest version of NMM.

ET VOILA!!

when you claim "most people", I take from that, that you mean yourself, but you're too ashamed to admit it, so you hide behind some unprovable claim of "most people".

People who use absurdum ad populum (look it up) like you have in various forms such as your mystery poll with no context, and now the claim of "most people" use it because they're too thick to do anything else. They have an argument and they want to tell the world about it, regardless of how it makes them look.

Going on the evidence before me, which is exclusively taken from your contributions to this thread, you are indeed too thick to even post up a coherent argument without resorting to unproveable nonsense.

Here's my well-meaning advice to you - go away, have a think about what you want to say, write it out in a text editor, get a grown up to read it, and offer corrections in content and structure, then come back, lay out your arguments, your proof and allow people to respond in a polite way, so that any issues you have can be resolved, or any bugs you've found can be passed to the devs, so that they can make it a better product.

Also, i'd suggest you actually read what you're complaining about - no-one has forced anything on you - this is another fallacy you've decided to throw out there. It's been done so many times previously, also by those too thick to understand.

Don't be like them. Don't be thick. That's the resut of being ignorant and lazy. Go away, educate yourself, understand the subject, understand the reasons for it, the ideas behind it and be better for it, then come back and join in the discussion with more rounded and more well made points.

Or don't.

Vortex is okay, but when are we going to get the option to export our mod list? I usually back that up in case of crashes and whatnot, and since I switched to vortex it's been a pain trying to copy down all of the mods. I know Vortex generates a plugin list somewhere, but when 50+ of your mods are textures or mesh replacements it's not really useful.

I'm gonna assume some of you guys here making replies like this don't frequent anywhere but the Nexus bubble because the statement they made about most people not liking Vortex is the prevailing opinion beyond this walled garden.

I don't really think launching personal attacks at them is going to do much to change their minds either. Edited by Arthmoor
