If (and I hope not) Nexus decides to go down that route, mod authors need to be given an opt out, as well as not allowing any monetization whatsoever, for this to have a prayer of working at all. Further, if mods on BethNet become similarly pillaged, I see very bad times ahead for the modding community. Wait. Reading that statement makes it sound like there already allowed mod packs on Nexus? Well if you pick the right one they will have a proven track record for one thing ... mining the internet for dollars. Isn't that the root of things, transfering money from those who are lazy/don't have a clue to those who want more money. The lucky ones in the first group may get something in return for their money ... I don't see any downside for anyone in the second group.
