Heyas Metaphorset! Ouch, that's a pretty rough playthrough that you're talking about :(

As for auto's, I do agree... their ammo consumption is pretty bad. The rising recoil factor can make them difficult to use at long range, as well. Tho I do kinda like having them for "RunNgun" playthroughs, and just for messing around.

LOL this is literally the first Beth game I've played Since Morrowind.

I like the shotgun, but it's RoF is pretty slow. :(

Moksha- Heyas! The hobo pistol? This is new to me, what is it?

The Hobo Pistol is a super duper 10mm that is found on the stage during the ending credits for Outcasts and Remnants. It is a must have against the Mythic Deathclaw. Heck, it might even bring down Alduin.

Even though Fallout 4's stealth set-up kinda sucks, I play a stealthy sniper who likes to get his hands dirty now and then, so besides a sniper rifle I carry a silenced 10-mm - until I do Hancock's Pickman Gallery quest and I get the Pickman Blade. Mod it with Stealth Blade and I'm good to go. I'd like to poison it also, but in Fallout 4, poison would be a bust. By the time the poison started doing its thing, my victm will be dead with a slit throat. A combat shotgun rounds out my arsenal. IRL that shotgun would get left behind, but this is Fallout 4 and it almost seems necessary.

Moksha - hmmmm. while I don't use many of the vanilla weapons anymore, I'll have to do some researching into that. It sounds interesting :)

Jimmy - LOL! Hey no probs, it's been a slow day ;)

dark- Vanilla stealth does have a lot of drawbacks, yes. Theres definitely some mods that help to improve it tho. I used to have a mod on PS4 that would let you literally sneak up and stand around in a group of omnipotent ghouls. The author never ported it over to PC tho, and yeah... it was just damned OP.

I've played a few games where being able to poison or add poison as a debuff was quite valuable. But I agree, FO4 isn't one of those games

For your sniping do you prefer semi-autos, or bolt action?

Reba II. I just use a modded hunting rifle until I go up to Salem and do Barney's quest and get Reba !! A bit later in the game when I'm a little bit stronger, I go to Dunwich Borers to pick up the Sneak bobblehead and I jump into that nasty little pool at the bottom of the quarry and grab Kremth's Tooth (or whatever it's called). Now that's a worthwhile blade.

I've used reba a couple of times. She's definitely a good sniper.

For some reason, I'm drawn back to the topic of the automatic weapons. Maybe this is because I use a controller, not a keyboard.... but yeah. The ammo consumption. Most of the time, unless it's a REALLY high RoF weapon, I can sometimes get a single round off, usually a double tap, or a lot of times, a 3 round burst.

As far as them eatting up ammo, it's all about trigger control, and short, controlled bursts.

And then there are those times when you just pull the trigger, and wave it around, and hope whatever it is you are shooting at, dies. :) Bloat Flies, Stingwings, Bloodbugs...... The 'highly maneuverable' and psychic guys that know where you are going to shoot, before you do. :D

This is where the 'never ending' legendary comes in REAL handy. :D

You forgot to mention those really hard to hit molerats that pop up under your feet in your "no shoot" zone, so you gotta unload at them while backpeddling. ;)

But yeah, I definitely know what ya mean.

Then there's those "Oh @#$% !" moments when there's something completely unexpected, and your finger just goes into instinct mode. :D
