You say downloads are capped at 2Mb for non premium user I CALL BS!

You claim that downloads are capped at 2 Mb for non premium users yet to download vortex 74.2 Mb is going to take over an hour to download I call BS; 2 MB capped more like 56K capped, seriously it was never ever this slow at all EVER, not going to waste my time with this service if this is crap speed is the best you can do, been here 15 minutes and it hasn't even downloaded 15 Mbs yet, poor and pathetic in my books 2 Mb lol what a joke. I downloaded Skyrim SSE in the same time its going to take your vortex to download, sure its not 2 Mb an hour? cause your lying if you claim its 2 MB per second a 75 Mb at 2 Mb rate shouldn't take an hour to download PERIOD!

It's 2mb. Maybe your internet just sucks, maybe the server you're connected sucks. Irrelevant which it is, the cap is still 2mb. Or 1mb if you're using adblock.

No my internet perfectly fine, that's why it took under an hour to download the entire game, but yet to download vortex from here they're asking for the same time to be taken to download a 75Mb file even at 2Mb or even 1Mb should not take an 'HOUR' so yeah it's not my internet

I attribute it to a basic lack of understanding on your part.

Look up the definition of Cap. It means Will not exceed. It does not mean "This rate is guaranteed".

It is also limited by the server's ability to respond, as well as where you are located and what transmission problems exist.

 

None of this has anything to do with Vortex. Your complaint is with the Nexusmod servers.

You could be downloading mods manually or with NMM. The result would be the same.

Whenever I get a slow download speed, I ALWAYS cancel the download and start a new one, instead of stubbornly sticking with the slow download speed.

9 times out of 10, when I start a new download I get a much much faster speed, it's like there's a glitch or 'clogged pipe' with the slow download speed, and restarting a download cleans out the pipe.

Meaning MegaBITS, not MegaBYTES, that's how all download speeds are meant no matter the ISP or Provider.

You aren't downloading 1 megabyte each second

 

1Mb/s = 1 MegaBIT per second

1MB/s = 1 MegaBYTE per second

• megabyte (MB) or megabyte per second (MBps, MB/s), with a capital or uppercase ‘B’ — a unit used for file sizes and often in the end user software, equal to 1000² bytes (B), and

Because "their" are not the people you're talking to. This is the Vortex (sub-)forum, the forum where we discuss the software Vortex.

The people you're addressing here are not the people who could help with your download speeds and the people who may have a way to help you are not reading this forum.

 

You may be able to work around the problem by using a VPN so that you get connected to a different server (you get assigned a server based on your geographic location) or force network packages to get routed differently but that's a bit like a pain killer, it doesn't cure the underlying issue.

Just remember our speed caps are not a guarantee of that speed. It is simply the maximum speed we will allow you to reach. If you connection to our servers is bad, it will be slower. Unfortunately there isn't much we can do about this in most cases as the problem exists between our servers and your PC. (e.g. with your network/ISP/internet routing). As I said though, if you provide the information in that article, I'll see if I can see any problem.
