gaaxure
Are you people high?! Which other site do you know of that requires minimum 12 character, upper and lower case letters plus a number for their password. And more importantly who the hell remembers it? If you guys can't put a proper two step authentication procedures in place you shouldn't be asking for sensitive financial information from other people. My cable, internet, phone, mobile provider, PayPal, each of my banks and numerous others. If you can't remember your password, start a list in a notebook, use one of the password online tools, etc. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the password requirements for this site. Since you are posting here, you did comply with the requirement. Actually, if you don't like the password requirement, you are free to leave at any time. No one is making you create an account here. HadToRegister
I use KeePass2 to keep track of my logins and passwords. Some websites are unsecure and only require 5 - 6 characters, others on my list require at least one UPPERCASE one lowercase, one punctuation !@#^$& and numbers 12348596You should be glad that any website that has users financial info, logins and passwords uses such a secure method. That would totally work.
tautaula
I always wish that we were allowed to make passwords longer than 20 characters on most sites. It's easier to remember - and more secure - to have a password that consists of one six-letter word repeated fifty times than 20 random characters no matter how big the character pool seems able to get. (I could be wrong, but if you can correct me, please do! I want to know that character pool and how to access it!)
DoctorKaizeld
Preeeetty sure Nuclear sites use a much longer password and have two or more physical key locks required. 12 character passwords aren't a big deal and yes I have mine memorized and it is just a random series of characters. Rabbit1251
I'm just pleased to know that the Nexus is looking out for me. "Watching my back", in a manner of speaking. The Rabbit
HadToRegister
Also, if you dread having a 12 character password because you'll have to enter it every time, maybe you should turn down your browser's security settings, after all, this isn't a nuclear ICBM launch facility. Arthmoor
This site isn't a nuclear ICBM launch facility. And we should all be glad, because the 12 char mixed case + symbols password would be woefully inadequate for something that important. For your account on a modding site? It'll do just fine.

If you guys can't put a proper two step authentication procedures in place you shouldn't be asking for sensitive financial information from other people.Yes it is completely insane all the crap they made me go through just to download one file and forget about my account for another year.Unlock-Verification email link, Confirmation-Verification email link, both following having to reset my password with an e-mail link ... because unlike all of the sites with the worst security and account requirements arbitrarily forcing you to make weak passwords you will never remember, it's a 12 character minimum instead of 8. Of course using computers since the 80s the case sensitive thing will always drive me insane because passwords were not case sensitive for decades and in many cases could not be, and the special character thing bothers me so much more because adding a special character for decades would corrupt your password ... and it is the reason I've had to hack into somebody's copy of Windows or w.e other OS a million times to recover their information. And don't get me started about password hints, always asking for information that's searchable in public records. How much better would it be if sites with terrible password requirements like this would post the password requirements on the sign-in page? Then I would know what my password is without first having to type:1. Alphanumeric passcode2. Case sensitive alphanumeric passcode3. Alphanumeric passcode with punctuation4. Case sensitive alphanumeric passcode with punctuation5. Longer than the usual 8 characters Case sensitive alphanumeric passcode with punctuation6. Longer than the usual 8 characters Case sensitive alphanumeric passcode7. Longer than the usual 8 characters Alphanumeric passcode with punctuation8. Longer than the usual 8 characters Alphanumeric passcode And then totally give up and reset password, learning in the process because of the posted requirements: which of these 8 was the password all along -_- Edited December 19, 2020 by coercedbynexusmods
