Thanks for letting us know, and please let us know about any other places you see spam. We're in a never ending fight against these scum.

The AngrboĆ°a white-wash mod for God of War Ragnarok? I'm not sure I've even seen anything on it - it hasn't come up in any of my news feeds yet. The content team said they're getting a lot of crap on Twitter/X right now about it but not anywhere else. Pretty much says it all. It's American election year, which means everyone focuses even more on "social issues" because that's what politicians want the people to focus on instead of things like, you know, how the country is run. We're no strangers to election year crap. Don't worry, I couldn't give a flying fuck what people have to say on the topic of whitewashing characters in games and we're not the only modding site out there - they can trot off to somewhere else to get that stuff.

I'm going to have an existential crisis when I go back to my old secondary school (ages 11-18) next week to talk to the students about my time making this site (which I started at 15 while I was still at the school) and what little I've learnt on how to run a business. None of the kids I'll be talking to will have been born then.

Hello, please can you take a screenshot of what you are seeing and post it here for us to see? If something is affecting the user experience we'd like to know so we can fix it. Thanks.

Unfortunately it turns out UsernameWithA9 was actually a dog/cat living in Springfield, Ohio and they have been eaten by an alien. RIP (but in all seriousness, I don't know why they have deleted their account, but it's a shame)

Cloudflare forcing me to 'verify I am human' every five minutes.

There was a DDOS this afternoon so the devs decided to leave CloudFlare on its highest security setting over night. If you're getting checked very often it's likely because you have high privacy settings/extensions/addons on your system and it's messing with CloudFlare's ability to recognise you as the same person who did the last check you did X amount of time ago. -
https://nexusmods.statuspage.io/ It's known/being worked on and we definitely need to improve our processes for when things like this happen.

We're looking at this at the moment because, upon reading your thread, I did a test upload. The upload worked/the page was created, but the image was broken. However, it worked correctly for 3 other members of staff who tested with the exact same image. "Fun" problem to try and troubleshoot.

I've just spoken with the devs and we have iDEAL turned off for now while we work on this migration and ensure everything is working with the basic ways of paying. We are also ensuring all our current Premium Members get transitioned smoothly. We are scoping out some time in Q4 of this year to look at both iDEAL (for Dutch and future EU users) and Alipay (for Chinese users) to also work with the system. So you might have to wait a little while but that might be the easier option for you? I am going to PM you the error we are seeing on our end for your payment that provides a little more insight. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

Hey thoth, we're actually in the UK and our payment processor is a UK company. I do not know the specifics of the system in the Netherlands but it sounds like there's some extra hoops you need to jump through, at your banks end, which are alien to us as we are not from the Netherlands, so it's going to be very hard for us to be able to help you. I am aware that the Netherlands uses a system called "iDEAL" for a lot of their payments. We don't currently have this turned on at our end as we have only recently moved to using this payment processor and we want to walk before we run (and jump). It's possible this might have something to do with it?

Hi Thoth144, Please can you clarify where, or who, is asking for your VAT number and the company name? As far as I'm aware those are not things we ask for at all. Is it something your bank is asking for during some sort of ID check system that they have?

Premium billing is broken? ..at least for some uf us.
Dark0ne replied to Abs3nz's topic in Site Support
I've unlocked this topic as I think this could have been handled a lot better (from our end), so I'm going to provide an example of how I would have handled this better. First of all, thank you for even considering to support us, I appreciate it (even if it seems like from the first response that we don't - we do). I'm trying to instil in our community team a sense of "starting off on the right foot" and, well, being nice to our users (especially those wanting to help to support us) until such point as our users stop being nice to us. I think we failed in that here. I'm particularly bad at this at times, but that's normally when users are being extremely rude or unreasonable from the offset. Your OP wasn't rude or unreasonable so there was no reason not to be nice. To get to the topic at hand, there are a lot of reasons why this could not be working and, unfortunately, a lot of them are going to not only be completely out of our hands but also outside of our "vision" to be able to see what it is going on. As in, the error could be somewhere with our payment processor or with your bank, but we won't be able to see the reason because these systems work by "security through obscurity". They don't want us to know why transactions are failing because we might notice patterns in how their security works and they can conceive threats from that. I have been able to look up your failed transactions and the multiple different attempts you have made and, as suspected, the only error we get given for the transaction failing is: That's all we've got to go off, which is why the error message we give you is equally "useless" for helping you to diagnose the issue. The only way we'd be able to find out for sure is by somehow finding out from your bank the reason why it was declined, which we can't do as we have no way of knowing the who/what/where of your bank. Possible reasons could include that you are from a sanctioned country which the UK cannot trade with (i.e. Russia, Iran, NK, etc.), which I think is probably unlikely as you'd know about these sanctions, or that your bank(s) have extremely high levels of card security and somewhere along the line, our processor is failing one of your bank's security checks. Our payment processor is Paddle (https://www.paddle.com/), who are a fairly major international payment processor, so please feel free to do your own research and see if other people in your area or who use your bank have issues using this payment processor. I can see how many times you've attempted to get this membership so I can tell you're really keen to get it, but unfortunately, we really are hand-tied on this one and cannot help you further. While this probably isn't what you want to hear, I hope this at least explains why the error message is so vague and why we can't help you any further on it. It's literally completely outside of our power to resolve. Edit: we have contacted our representatives at Paddle to see if they can tell us anything more but I wouldn't hold out hope. I'd be pleasantly surprised if they could give us more and I shall update you in private if I do hear anything pertinent. -
I've pushed this onto the Vortex devs and I'm sure they'll be around soon. Thanks for the feedback!

I didn't realise you posted here as well. I have already provided a response to your message on the Nexus Mods subreddit here: https://www.reddit.com/r/nexusmods/comments/1e2yxfz/comment/ld4lb78/

No problem! You had me worried that my last 25 years of mice purchases were a lie! On that note, are you aware that if you hold CTRL while (normal) clicking a link it will also open it in a new tab? Not sure if you can do both at the same time with your setup but just thought I'd tell you in case you didn't know.
