  1. Hello, I'm looking to see if anyone can help with a project that I've been working on. Mainly, I need help scripting generic traps, enemy spawns, and mp3/wav triggers, quests if possible for later project phase. I know enough of scripting to be able to re-purpose a single sound trigger for my needs if it is supplied. If you are curious just respond to this thread. I can supply roughly half of the project up front. This includes completed navmeshing and cell designs. Some might already know what I'm planning, but those that don't... It's a raid mod. I have 12 floors of a giant skyscraper completed for the project on my desktop, and below you will find a link to investigate for yourselves. At the present, the dungeon is quite expansive across several cells. To find those cells search: JC. Download Link to Project I'm starting work on the rest of the project in a different esp which I will then merge into this. Tomorrow I'll start work editing the wav files delivered to me thus far. Note: I'm not really expecting many people, if any, to step forward and help with this, but any assistance offered would be much appreciated.
  2. Oh lord... not this crap again. I thought we were beyond this by now? Well... that newbie account didn't last very long.
  3. Yeah... about that President Eden thing... that's slightly inaccurate. Did you observe how that purified FEV water actually killed people? You actually died from constant unregulated exposure to the FEV water thus giving the impression that the water itself was actually cleansing mutation as advertised... but without moderated treatment the FEV water sort of just killed all the cells in the human body rather than slowly scrub them clean of mutated cells and that's why you died after 3 shots of the stuff. When you take that into consideration... Eden was indeed cleansing the human gene-pool of mutation, but without the infrastructure to maintain moderated use... well... he just kinda killed everyone without explaining to them that it was supposed to be consumed in small doses rather than in large gulps.
  4. I rather enjoyed it. For the last puzzle I'll give you a hint. When you start on the central platform, facing the yellow portal behind the red firewall, do a 180, this is the first platform you have to clear. Reach this platform and with your back to the yellow portal clear the red firewall on the left. Clearing the other platforms requires that you slowly collect bits and pieces scattered around the puzzle, but the green beam goes, while facing the yellow portal behind the red firewall, to the right, curving around the entire level before turning left at the end to clear the last firewall. This took me roughly 15 minutes to figure out.
  5. I wish that this had been its own separate game. Like, this could have been Iceland or something. I say this because... honestly... I would have much rather played an entire game of this rather than an entire game of Fallout Boston/Commonwealth. Bethesda really brought their A-Game with how they designed this landmass and it is very impressive.
  6. Honestly, fighting the trappers seems rather easy. Same with those freaky red Mirelurks. What's really hard for me to kill are those damned Gulpers. Then again I'm a level 90+ tank using a high powered 117 dps gatling laser with a fully upgraded heavy weapons perk tree. There once was a time when Legendary Glowing Alpha Deathclaws were a 'threat' now even they get mowed down. But those freaking Gulpers are like bullet sponges. I've actually considered using my plasma rifle against them... but I kinda don't want to because that's my fallback weapon for when absolutely everything else fails.
  7. Am I the only one who has mixed feelings about the vault beneath the hotel? Specifically, am I the only who simply can't bring himself to feel bad for the overseer. The dude was perfectly fine torturing a bunch of low income people, but the second its 6 chiefs and 1 Indian, he decides to kill himself rather than be crapped on by all the rich people for the rest of his life.
  8. I saw your response, give me 1 week and I'll post something for you on Mediafire. Mostly, it'll be a small test build of some design concepts. Should you choose to not use them... no big deal.
  9. You said you've been working on this since Fallout 3, given that you intend to migrate the project over to F4 it's safe to assume that most preliminary design work will soon be removed given how vastly different the two games bld archives are from one another. I'm curious... how much of the city had you prior completed? If need be you can answer in private. I ask because I would be interested in contributing some custom design work, namely for the Commercial District. This having been said, I won't be able to architect the entire city. It's a simple matter of time management on my end with personal projects.
  10. OooooK... that's... ambitious. If you intend to recreate the dungeons for a 3-dimensional F4 game-play style then that won't be terribly difficult. Perhaps time consuming, but not difficult. You also probably won't be able to legally use any of the original dialogue so you'll have to look into recruiting some voice actors to dub the original lines from F1. Now, the real hard part is going to be designing the original world cells. Now, I usually don't believe in advertising my own work on the boards, because I don't want to be a jackass, because I believe in being humble, but I can actually help you out with that particular issue. Take a look at my work for New Vegas to get some ideas for what you might want to do and how you want to do it for F4. Note, I think someone de-SCOLed my Poseidon Oil Rig in another mod so you might want to do a search for it instead of simply using my own version. BFM San Francisco Los Angeles Poseidon Oil Rig
  11. Consoles... will always be inferior. Wait, wait, wait; let me explain before you explode like Chernobyl. The costs to build a console spec to run a modern game with modern graphics performance will always be limited by what the domestic market is willing to spend on that console. Some people, god help them, are willing to shell out $1,000+ on a new and shiny PS-Whatever when that console is first released. However, the costs to manufacture the hardware will to some degree limit the market for that console in question. PC... is different. A rig can be upgraded and re-speced unlike a console. As a platform for gaming, PC is a much more viable market and will in terms of hardware always be superior since the hardware itself isn't limited by mass markets, but rather than by what an individual can afford. For a PC user the only real limitation is by the game creator and the hardware limitations of the console markets.
  12. This actually reminds me of a story. Once while doing the Trinity Tower "Curtain Call" Quest, Dogmeat jumped off of the window washing lift on the way down to fight the supermutants inside the tower. This disabled his companion teleport near player effect and the ability to move Dogmeat next to the player using: Pride 1d162. Moveto Player. I also wasn't able to simply order him to say Sanctuary by trading companions. In fact, what I ended up doing was reclimbing the tower and intentionally jumping off of the lift on the way down to meet Dogmeat inside the building. We then both fast traveled to the buildings bottom floor and the glitch was resolved.
  13. Yeah... he's working on a lot of projects for F4. If you're really curious you could ask him about them, but he's usually kinda tight lipped. Knows how to keep a secret about his own work until the mods released.
  14. Why... I do believe that it was Ben-Kenobied... stupid Jedi was always a bad pilot.
  15. Definitely start small if you have no prior experience. For people who are just starting to learn, I highly recommend beginning at interior cell design. This is because you will learn the search prefix codes for all of the static nifs as you get your first taste of designing areas for player exploration. Furthermore, as you get more adept at this process you will pick up additional skills such as figuring out basic scripts to trigger lights, sounds, traps, etc. Later on, should you wish to make use of your designs you can then learn how to create questlines to feature your work within. A step up from interior cell design is exterior world design... which is in itself a basic form game creation. That having been said... I recommend starting with interior cells.
  16. Behold what greed had wrought. As much as I hate to admit it, Bethesda is a company, companies exist to make money, money to a "suit" is the most important thing in the world, therefore... if they think they can get away with it they'll do everything possible including murder (drug companies) to make money. There is no doubt in my mind that Bethesda would screw over Nexus to corner the market on mods. However, I think they are greatly over-estimating how much they can milk modders for content to keep their games popular should they decide to make war upon Nexus for some extra scraps of money. I can tell you now... I do this as a hobby, and if Bethesda muscles Nexus out... then I'll stop modding. Furthermore, I'm not the only one who thinks like this... and I think Bethesda suits have greatly underestimated exactly how much they are playing with fire in this situation. Modders make sure Bethesda products are popular long past a natural shelf life, and the last thing they should want is for us to stop doing what we are doing, because if we do stop...
  17. Just make a forum post. [Disable Fallout.net] I would like to request a way to disable Fallout.net so that it stops breaking my game, achievements, other mods, and script extender. I understand that these things are not supported by Bethesda, but Fallout.Net and Fallout Mods from Fallout.Net has made it currently impossible to actually mod my game. Since I like mods, but hate having my game broken by Bethesda mods, I would like a way to disable the feature since it has proven destructive. Thank you for your time.
  18. Image if the raiders thought the Silver Shroud was the one running around killing off prominent gang lords like: Jared, Slag, and Tower Tom? Imagine... if they all teamed up and fortified a skyscraper against a full frontal assault. Imagine if they called you out personally, daring you to attack them? Imagine... if you did. THE RAID will be a thirty floor dungeon filled to the rim with raiders, traps, and eccentric assassins all intent on killing you... The Silver Shroud. That's thirty floors of solid death... and I have enough of a proof of concept to finally make an announcement to build such a mod in its totality. Below this announcement you will find a download for the first 5 floors whose design prefixes are under, search: JC. Tomorrow I will start work on the next batch of five floors. What I need... is "A True To God Sadistic Bastard" to take these floors and DO YOUR WORST!! Take what I have built thus far and lay out as many hidden traps to murder unsuspecting players daring to ascend all thirty floors. I can built the skyscraper... but I lack... "imagination" to make the design work something to truly be feared. Anyone interested in helping me make this mod something terrifying please contact me down below. Even if you don't want to work on the traps... I would like to make future contacts should additional help be needed. Or, perhaps... if you're just curious about what I have planned you can always use my Mediafire link just to gawk at the design work. Muhahahaha!! Design Work Part 1 Contact Me: Either Nexus messenger or at jcdenton2012@gmail.com
  19. Here are my thoughts. Nexus is and will forever be... where the porn mods live. None of that stuff will ever be allowed to be left up on Bethesda.net for console download. They might be uploaded, but will likely be quickly moderated out of existence because of the, "As a parent I don't want my child watching digital bouncing boobs, but dismemberment into red meaty paste is perfectly fine," mentality. We gotta protect the prudish fluffy bunnies after all, who mentally never advanced further than a twelve year old. That having been said, if I choose to upload a mod for consoles... I'm going to check that box for "paid" faster than Larry King finding his next wife. Everything that I release onto Nexus will be free because I love the community and enjoy creating stuff, and honestly... I don't have that same connection with Consoles. Consoles are advertised as platforms, but a platform for a single player game is merely a platform to hock digital content for a solo experience. There is no community for Console Paid Mods because by design traditional console communities are built around multi-player. To that end, Console Mods I view as nothing more than a financial exchange for created content... unlike Nexus where greater emphasis is placed upon enjoyment by like-minded hobbyist. So yeah... I'm gonna bill the Console mob for my stuff... but never EVER on Nexus.
  20. You no longer have to create SCOLs. You can just copy and paste designs from one cell to another if you want to move something.
  21. I won't lie... the only thing that I like about this thing is how it processes cell load by poly count and proper rendering allows for more flexible usage. Beyond that... the decisions they made with this program are pretty bad. 1) Is an exe too much to ask for these days? I don't want to login to your stupid server to start the thing. That is a needless middle step which serves only to annoy those with a bad internet connections. 2) Your poly draw system makes for easier cell design since it removes the older item processing limit used in the GECKs for distance object rendering, but dear god if you zoom out using this creation kit to inspect your design work the computer practically has a heart-attack. 70,000 processing polys and counting? Are you shitting me? 1,085% cell processing? If you intend to build something big in this creation kit, you are now pretty much forced to get it right the first time you design it since rotating the camera to inspect angles will no longer be feasible... and I have a pretty high end system as well. 3) The "warnings box" needs a disable function REAL BAD, because closing it doesn't mean that it stays closed.
