  1. The Blades, they couldn't even save the emperor at the time of the Cyrodiilic crisis and needed the help of a lowly prisoner and the emperor's bastard son to save the land from Dagons tyranny. And here we are and only two remain, the last of a distinguished line of warriors that fell into decay and disrepute and are bereft of honour and renown. One hides behind locked doors in the stinking sewers of a slum town, the other poses as a serving wench in a backwoods village inn. And then the one that calls herself Delphine says, "kill Parthanax, you'll get no more help from us until you do". SILENCE BLADE, LEARN YOUR PLACE. For I am Ellerin, kin of the Dova, Dragonborn, you will bide by my words and I say Parthanax will live on. Alduin will die by my hand with or without your aid. I have spoken, now go and scribe that on your precious wall.
  2. I looked all over to find out where that was coming from, even tcl'd and zoomed through the walls but couldn't find a thing.
  3. Ha ha, classic. They must think we love unexpectedly visiting our desktops :wallbash:
  4. Thats exactly what I'm doing, Valve just don't bloody learn do they ?
  5. A fantasy game set in a fantasy world with elves, lizard men, cat people and dragons. We can chuck spells and magically enchant weapons and armour, we can glug a potion to recover our health and glug another one to make us invisible. And people then go on about a "realistic" carry weight limit :wallbash: Pass the skooma dude
  6. Mages, giants, dragons, all fear the stealthy archer :teehee:
  7. Oh I see a Helms Deep mod on the horizon :teehee:
  8. Was happening to me untill I did the CFF Explorer mod early last night and I then played till 4 this morning without a single crash, might just be a fluke though. CFF Explorer mod here for those that don't know about it already. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=134
  9. Yup Happens to me too, I just re tick it every time I start the game.
  10. Stand well back and chuck a fire spell at it
  11. Agreed. I'm thoroughly enjoying the game (will enjoy it more when AMD sort out some decent x-fire profiles for it) and think that Beth has done a great job in many areas and have given us a fantastic platform for future modding. But that UI is terrible, especially when you get a lot of stuff in your inventory, I'd also be happier to have the Oblivion version back. One other thing I've noticed is with spellcasting, I'm a spell healer and a bow is my main weapon, but to cast a healing spell I have to unequip the bow, cast the spell and then re-equip the bow, where as in Oblivion you just hit C and carried on perforating your enemy, is it possible to reasign casting spells to something other than the mouse button ?
  12. Yup, read a few reports elsewhere that 69 series cards are giving negative scaling, my 6990/4gb certainly is, the game is playable but it's getting on my tits as I know it should be flying. Apparently AMD are working on a hotfix but haven't mentioned an ETA, guess we'll just have to be patient.
  13. Oops, forgot a drink classification. MUSHY: 50/50 mix of Baileys Irish Cream and coffee, whack it in the microwave and nuke it till its bubbling, goes great with a hugemungus box of chocolates :teehee:
  14. Hard: Red wine, real ale, schnapps. Soft: A pint pot of tea, ooo lovely.
  15. Thanks I've had quite few operations so I get very uncomfortable sitting at a desk, when gaming that chair and footstool get pulled right in front of that screen and the chair reclines so I can adopt my normal sack of spuds gaming position and I only need to move to accept food and drink when delivered by one of my courteous housemates  And agreed, I do like that D2x.
  16. PC maintainance completed, 7.1 sound system recal'd and optimised for max impact, dosh has departed, Skyrim is pre loaded and all is in readiness.. 18. I'm with the others that don't like Steam I'm afraid, consumers SHOULD HAVE the following CHOICES. You like and want Steam? Great, go ahead. Don't like Steam? Buy your games on disc that utilises a different DRM system from a retailer of your choosing and thats it, job done. Another thing? Read the Steam End User Agreement: Well big fat hairy facepalm guess what, Steam customers/users aint got no legs to stand on. And also bear in mind that bankruptcy happens and one day Steam will turn to dust, all money spent on Steamworks controlled games will be lost. There will now be a que of people that will say "but that won't happen" even though the world is presently in financial crisis and huge corporations have died a bit the dust and goverments and countries are having to be bailed out. Whats that? The patch? The mega patch? The so called fantastic patch that would mean you could play all your games without Steam? It doesn't / won't ever exist. If it did those people with wooden legs and parrots on their shoulders would have already figured out how to do it, code breakers are always far cleverer than code writers. And besides, if Steam did go belly up we would be the last to find out and the receivers would already have control, and all they care about is how to squeeze the last dime out of a dead company, they certainly wouldn't be concerned about us not being able to play our games. When Skyrim gets released I'll have two games on Steam, and that will two too many but my hands are tied as I don't have a parrot on my shoulder, or a wooden leg.
  19. Most of whats in there is leftover stuff after an upgrading session in the home theatre / listening room, the big left / right speakers up front are going as I'm sick of having to squeeze in and out of the door. Basically, when the Skyrim Dragon roars, I want it to rattle my eyeballs lol.

  21. Site Bot's real name is Hal.
  22. Thanks for the replies guys, been having a snout about at the prices, I ain't tight fisted but I do like some performance in exchange for my pound, to buy a Mac that would have only half the clout of my gaming rig would sting me just shy of 3k. I'm not havin that, why on earth are those things considered worth buying ? Mac idea scrapped. As for the iPad, I think it's a usable and useful little slab of electrickery that's instantly on and ready to go. Search for "Infinity Blade" in the app store if you want something to play while you're away from your PC, costs about three & half quid and I never thought I'd see graphics that good on an iPad, but beware, your sword finger gets tired pretty sharpish.
