New Poster Needing Help With Mods Crashing Game
7531Leonidas replied to bigbadoof3's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Did you check the 'Requirements' tab on each mod's description page? They can be tricky to figure out. Mods that use other mods for data/resources will crash the game, if those resources aren't there. List your game version, OS version, etc, along with a load order (LO) for the mods that you are trying to use. You might also add Crash Logger SSE ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/59818 ) to help yourself and others figure out the source of the crash. Things like LO and crash logs should be posted in a spoiler tag (the 'eye' icon in the posting menu). There is a compatibility .wiki here on the nexus to help with finding mods compatible with your Skyrim and its appropriate SKSE64 version ( https://modding.wiki/en/skyrim/users/skse-plugins ). It is a pretty simple spreadsheet type arrangement. -
Read up on profiles in Vortex. There is a way to set a profile that has no mods installed, and you can leave your current setup untouched. Just don't uninstall anything. I haven't used it properly since I first tried it (haven't needed to), or I would talk you through it. There are plenty who can, however.

Did you go to the Nemesis mod page, and check for instructions to include FNIS? I just changed over from FNIS to Pandora, and it works like a charm, after a couple of hiccups. I did NOT have to use the -tesv command line argument, followed the directions for Vortex on the discussion/comments page for Pandora.

Things like this are usually due to some sort of body mod mismatch, where a mod displays a different body from the one installed as a default. If you use a mod to vary/change/distribute body types, a bad installation/corrupted installation might be the problem. I am sure that others might have some better ideas.

@melvinius I pretty well agree w/all of the above, just wanted ppl to know what kinds of problems/drawbacks to expect. I had some wide-ranging landscape mods, and some quest add-ons, and it just got too crowded. -
Need help with Skyrim SE crashing during Load Game
7531Leonidas replied to Riotmxker's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
You might want to try asking about this on the Skyrim SE forum, find it in 'Game Communities' under the 'Browse' menu item at the top of the page. Scroll down/search for Skyrim (it is usually near the top), and join any forum that you wish to post in. -
Have you tried searching for 'multiple marriages' or even 'polygamy' on the Skyrim mod pages? I don't think that there is any universally available mod to allow more than a few children to be adopted by your PC. Try searching for 'adoption' or 'adoption mod'. Good luck! BTW, there are several orphanage mods available, and 'Dragon's Lair', which should allow you to have the children cared for, at least.

Look here ( https://modding.wiki/en/skyrim/users/skse-plugins ) to check your mods for compatibility w/the various versions of Skyrim and their matching SKSE64 versions.

The latest version is 1.13.5, AFAIK. Did you try to search the Vortex Support forum (search window - upper right hand of the page) for 'Vortex won't start'? One reason it may not be starting, is that it is trying to update to the latest version, and something on your computer (antivirus, firewall, folder permissions, etc.) is not allowing the connection to the update files (on github, I think). So, also search for 'Vortex hangs while updating', and look at those results, too.

Praise for Interesting NPCs by Kris Takahashi
7531Leonidas replied to evengayercats's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
I had it installed once, decided to dump it. Not a bad idea, but too many NPCs in widely scattered wilderness areas had them interfering in other quest spawns, and there were some stuck quests, make sure you check the bugs tab for the latest. I wish that it was a little slimmer, for sure. -
need help trying to find cause of crash

Which game? -
Still, the only documentation cites the legal arguments, which tried to focus on the seller's arguably overestimated value for the company, you know, kinda like Trump? If you have documentation of other reasons, and not just conjecture, please list them.

According to his SEC filing - “For nearly two months, Mr. Musk has sought the data and information necessary to ‘make an independent assessment of the prevalence of fake or spam accounts on Twitter’s platform,’” reads the SEC filing. “Twitter has failed or refused to provide this information.” https://decrypt.co/104760/elon-musk-cancels-twitter-purchase-agreement-reports There's more at the link - not sure how much I could post under "fair use". Another concurrent take on the purchase https://news.law.fordham.edu/jcfl/2022/11/25/why-elon-musk-finally-bought-twitter/

WRT Elon, probably a bit of all of the above, ppl don't often have just one reason for doing anything. But I would bet that a large part of his impetus came from getting tired of seeing the results of the biased 'fact checking', post reductions/removals, and account suspensions, just like he said. Any one here remember that he tried to back out of the purchase after finding out additional information? That he was forced to complete the purchase by court decision?

Have you tried changing any of the sandboxing settings under the Activity tab in the NFF MCM? Like reducing the relax radius, or increasing the idle delay, or setting the sandbox to allow/only in home? I too, have noticed that my followers tend to wander more, but it only happens in towns, since I have 'allow/autobox in town' enabled.

Essential Bug Fixes for Vanilla Skyrim
7531Leonidas replied to Raindog12's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
If you mean that you want to play LE (it was the original PC release)- you should probably ask on the LE forum. If by 'original pc release' you mean anything but the above, then you should state which version of SE you wish to run. -
Stalker 2: Need a mod to increase FPV camera height
7531Leonidas replied to VirtualChrisM's topic in Mod Ideas
@VirtualChrisM Did you find the forum you needed? If not, use 'Game Communities' under 'Browse' at the top of the page, then scroll down/search for Stalker 2. There are a lot of games, search may be faster than scrolling... -

Have you looked at this link ( https://stepmodifications.org/wiki/SkyrimSE:Display_Settings )? It is fairly recent. I think something has changed the game's default .ini to the wrong values.

To see if you have a memory leak, use More Informative Console, you can follow both system RAM and GPU RAM, along with many others. I recently had some crashes like yours, took the opportunity to upgrade Skyrim to 1.6.1170 and rearrange/update my mod list. I removed my ENB and changed to Open Animation Replacer, and those crashes have almost completely stopped. Not saying that your cause is the same, but just to reiterate that you might have to do a lot of work to reduce the crashes. If there is a newer version of Skyrim, Steam will let you know about it, if you have blocked automatic updates, and set the appdata.manifests to read-only.

external changes issue with a skyrim mod need help.
7531Leonidas replied to DrunkKagouti's topic in Vortex Support
You might have more success posting on the Skyrim SE forum. Get there by using 'Game Communities' under 'Browse' at the top of the page, scroll down/search for Skyrim. It is usually close to the top. Join the forum(s) you wish to post in. Which mod does Vortex cite in the warning? You could try to go to the mod's page and ask there. In any case, it is probably a mod that is trying to restore itself, in the same way as one of my CBBE3BA mods adds a _merged file to establish some install variables, which Vortex detects as an external change, in spite of the fact that the mod adding the merge was installed through Vortex. Have you tried to save the change, and see what happens? You can always uninstall/reinstall the offending mod later, if you choose. Just make a save in the game before you do any of this, so you won't have as great a chance for problems in making changes later. -
I really don't know - when you uninstalled Steam, it might well be necessary to start anew, list your game version, SKSE64 version (if you use it), describe what you are doing when the crashes occur, and double-check the SKSE mod compatibility list at ( https://modding.wiki/en/skyrim/users/skse-plugins ). I want to try to be sure that I am not leading you astray, what with all of the changes you have made.
