  1. 65. Born 1951. Actually, for a proper statistical analysis, your age groupings must have a consistent spread (three, four or five years each). If the spread is not consistent, your distribution curve will be inaccurate. < 10 10-13 14-17 18-21 22-25 26-29 30-33 34-37 38-41 42-45 46-49 50-53 54-57 58-61 61-64 65-68 68-71 > 71 Additionally, if the < 10 or > 71 groupings have numbers which become statistically significant (greater than your margin of error) these groups should be granulated further. Finally, you will need a significant sample size to generalize your findings. Say 5-10% of the total population of NEXUS. Remember that the greater your sample size, the lower the margin of error. R&G PS. It occurred to me that your sample might have a longer survivability if you collected 'year of birth' instead of 'current age'. The year of ones birth does not increment annually (Well, for most people anyway. Some folks 'year of birth' increments annually so they can remain 29 forever. But I digress.) A fixed date can be used against a base date to determine age. r&g PPS. If you collect YOB instead of age, Your survivable sample can be used to track the age demographics over time. r&g PPPS. There is an argument against a survivable sample. How does one remove those who have stopped gaming? (I know. Who would do that?) r&g
  2. Not sure exactly what you're referring to, whether it's when you take an item and upgrade it's components(in which case the specific item you upgraded is removed and placed on your character under the Mods category) or if you mean something else, as in when you scrap something using the crafting workbenches(if that is the case, then not everyone experiences this bug[otherwise there's no way I'd have 20K steel in my shared workbench inventory). <snip> "Throw everything on the ground and scrap it yourself." If you drop a Carlisle typewriter onto the ground and scrap it, you get two aluminum, six gears, five springs and four screws placed in the workbench. "Do not let the game scrap things for you during crafting. There is a bug which does not put the residual materials from items scrapped during crafting into the work bench." If you are crafting a doohickey which needs a screw and the crafting mechanic uses a Carlisle typewriter to obtain that screw, the residual materials (the aluminum, the other screws, the gears and the springs) are NOT placed in the workbench. These residual materials are just gone This is a known bug which has been documented several times in these forums, on Bethesda.net and on reddit.
  3. OP, I had the same issue. I went into NMM and disabled the Far Harbor DLC (DLCCoast.esm) and reloaded at the point where I entered the door. Problem solved.
  4. I sell everything I do not immediately use with the exception of crafting materials. But there are some perks which help. A maxed out Scrounger perk. Unless you are playing in Survival mode, Ammo has no weight and any ammo you do not need is as good as caps. A maxed out Cap Collector to help get prices down when trading. A maxed out Fortune Finder Perk. More caps is more caps. A maxed out Scrapper Perk. Getting more from scrapping is always better.Do not let the game scrap things for you during crafting. Throw everything on the ground and scrap it yourself. There is a bug which does not put the residual materials from items scrapped during crafting into the work bench. At the risk of arousing the ire of some, I recommend that early in the game you deal almost exclusively with the vendors in Diamond City. Arturo Rodriguez at Commonwealth Weaponry for weapons, ammo and armor. Solomon at Chem-I-Care for chems (imagine that). Myrna or Percy at Diamond City Surplus for some limited ammo and chems If you are wanting to deal with Power Armor, Rowdy at the Atom Cats Garage is the other vendor I recommend. If you still have stuff to sell, visit Goodneighbor. KL-E-O at Kill or Be Killed for weapons, ammo and armor, Daisy at Daisy Discounts for chems and ammo. I also recommend that after you have cleared an area that you go back through it a second time. Never know what you might have missed while you were dodging nasties.
  5. I've had plenty of insider synth attacks and haven't even built my teleporter yet. Well, how 'bout that. Must be a function of how quickly you get to destroying the Institute.
  6. If your levels are high enough, the Gunner Commanders in Quincy and Hub City Auto Wreckers will spawn with X-01 Mk.II and later X-01 Mk.III plates. You can kill the Gunners for the plates or steal the plates and frame.
  7. It may be just me, but it seem that before the Institute was destroyed; settlements where not attacked by synths. After the Institute is destroyed, settlements are occasionally attacked by synths. So there may be some validity to the observations of the OP.
  8. The child synth named Shaun is a artificial being, a machine, an manufactured artifact. Regardless of his apparent intelligence and intellect, these affectations are nothing more than clever programming and sophisticated decision tables. Given this, the child synth named Shaun has no more moral entanglements than a toaster or a unmade bed or a old pair of shoes.
  9. I will not argue preferences, because preferences are subjective at the best of time. That said, I enjoy both games. Each has features that make the games unique and enjoyable for themselves. I do not think that either game is "better", the games are just different.
  10. The MM ending is the only one which can leave all factions friendly to the PC (except for the destroyed institute); providing you have done nothing to make one of the factions hostile (and it is possible). The BoS, RR and MM will still provide radiant quests. However, you will not be able to complete the quests necessary to get the perk from Danse.
  11. Mothership Zeta (my least favorite DLC all time) had both in the final act. You had to stop the combat with the attacking ship and mash some buttons to get the power back on. It was nonsense. So for me, one or the other is preferable to both. As to which I would prefer, running around sealing/repairing/saving seems much more fun.
  12. Nice work. I also mapped the area, but yours puts mine to shame. Thanks.
  13. The sunset from atop Gunner's Plaza is quite nice. You can almost pretend it is not a Nuclear Wasteland.
  14. We learn more from our mistakes than our successes. So I don't mind the failures and trying again. I have a benchmark save to go back too if I really mess thing up too badly. "I have not failed. I've just learned 10,000 ways that won't work." - Thomas A. Edison on the invention of the lightbulb.
  15. You can pretty much do each factions quests as soon as you meet them. Just do not do any of the "faction destructive" quests you get after the 'Best Left Forgotten' guest until you are sure which ending you want (there are four options). Since I was allied with the MM, I choose the ending which left all the inhabitants alive and flourishing.
  16. A Mighty Gauss rifle from stealth worked for me. Three hits to the head, and it was food. When surprised, "Run away"! Then sneak back later.
  17. Anything which reduces your HP is causing damage. Bullets, lasers, being blown up, being set alight, being frozen, being electrocuted, being poisoned or being irradiated all reduce HP. It matters not if the HP reduction is BASE, Energy or effect. With that said, I think I have figured out what you and @blackninja50 are trying to say. Fire and ice and shock and poison and radiation are all energy damage, so armor mods that reduce energy damage should reduce the damage caused by these effects. If that is indeed what you are hinting at, it would have been easier on everyone if you had just said that in the first place. If that is not what you are hinting at, stop hinting and speak plainly.
  18. ends up being about as deep as a puddle. This comment sums it up nicely, I think.
  19. The vast majority of the opinions on which game you should play are subjective at best. We all have our preferences and those preferences affect our judgement on the quality, playability and enjoyment in a specific title. So my advice is simple. Play both for a week and decide for yourself which one you want to continue playing.
  20. Why is it that when you ask for help, some people have to ridicule you before actually providing any real help? Why do these people make asinine assumptions instead of asking for clarification? Maybe this behavior makes them feel better about themselves. They just do not know (or care) how it makes them look. Several have recommended the Mount and Blade series, and I will add my endorsement.
  21. Cryolator freezes. Flamer burns. Molotov cocktails burn. Cryo mines freeze. There is even a legendary mod that sets targets alight. Are you sure you are in the correct game.
