Skyrim Custom World Space World Map Issue? HELP REQUIRED
TheWilloughbian replied to Stephen999's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Oh! Wait. This is an obscure little thing one needs to know to get LOD textures to show up. In that first window in Oscape where you tick the box next your mod you must also check the box next to Skyrim ESM. That bit of info that you have too hunt for, so it's easy to miss. You might need to redo the object LOD to get stuff to show on the map. -
Skyrim Custom World Space World Map Issue? HELP REQUIRED
TheWilloughbian replied to Stephen999's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Oscape will work with SSE , but yeah it's not perfect. A proper port to SSE would be nice. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6642 Give this a try for objects and trees. It takes some setting up, but once that's done it works pretty good. You'll need to head the Oldrim page for instructions. Just keep in mind that it can blank out your terrain LOD and you may need to run Oscape again. Also there are some settings in the CK you can use to make objects show on the map. https://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=Static -
Skyrim Custom World Space World Map Issue? HELP REQUIRED
TheWilloughbian replied to Stephen999's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
From looks of your pic you may have an issue with the textures. Are you certain that you have the LOD textures in the right folder and that they have been converted to TGA? It's been my experience that LOD is kind of glitchy for SSE. The only way I have been able to do it is with third party utilities and those haven't always worked right for me either. For some reason Oscape doesn't like the 0,0 cell of my landmass and makes it sink to the default landmass height. What I have read makes me think that I made an error using the CK height map editor. I was able to work around it, but it was still annoying. Are you using any custom meshes, or is this just an ESP using vanilla assets? -

SSE darker LOD trees
TheWilloughbian replied to Dolly98's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Yes, but it's not that easy. LOD is an advanced topic to say the least. If you really want to know more about it give this a watch. https://youtu.be/kB2rqH7Ytko It's not for SSE, but it will give you the basics. As far as how to make the change you are after. You could try replacing the Tamriel Tree LOD texture with some thing more to your liking. -
I think the fact that the Daedra are a little more likely to directly interact with mortals is what makes them a little more compelling. Aside from getting blessings at the shrines, the Aedra don't really seem to do much. Makes them seem rather inconsequential.

Looking for healer ONLY follower mod. Any out there?
TheWilloughbian replied to tnug69's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
It would be nice to have a template for this. Vilja has some scripts that make her heal the player/party. Maybe have a look at those. -
That's the guy from the "Vigilant" mod. You need the English translation patch.

I think you have to set it up as a condition on the music track or group of songs. For instance there are songs that will only play if you are fighting a dragon. I'm not sure what all the available conditions are though. https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=91SZWuKkCMOZ_Qa88rKYDA&q=skyrim+creation+kit+music&oq=skyrim+creation+kit+music&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0j0i22i30k1.404961.422086.0.423095.30.19.3.6.6.0.87.1405.18.19.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..2.27.1469.0..46j0i131k1j0i46k1j0i131i46k1j46i131k1.104.Ear_9CSZ1jc

Trying to generate some terrain LOD for a custom world space and I'm having an issue. Everything is good except for the 0,0 cell, which seems to just sink to the default land height being -500. The default water height is 0. Texture LODs are good, tree and object LODs are fine, just the center cell is acting up. here's a couple of screens. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

SSE Semi-Transparent textures - NiAlpha settings?
TheWilloughbian replied to Hoamaii's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Your best bet is to play with the flags settings to get a feel for what they do. "Enable Blending" is for when you want to have a semi-transparent texture (coloured glass, sheer clothing) "Enable Testing" is for when you when want it to be solid or invisible. No semi-transparency.- 9 replies

I'm working on a new world space and I wanted it to have a different night sky than the Tamriel worldspace. I wanted to do this without changing the vanilla one. What figured was that I could edit an alternative stars.nif and use a custom galaxy texture to do this. So, it works fine to a point. I set up a new climate that uses my custom stars.nif. When travel to my worldspace I have my new night sky, but if I save, quit to desktop, and reload my save, the night sky reverts back to the vanilla Tamriel one. Even when I save in an interior cell. Once the new worlspace has been entered, the night sky goes back to vanilla upon reloading the game.I've been trying to figure it out all day and just can't seem to find the solution. I don't use any weather mods or ENB, so I can rule that out. Anyone have any ideas?

It happens. A mod that size has a lot of potential for little bugs that can crash the game. Stuff that makes a lot of changes to the main world space can be risky. Glad you got it sorted.
-
Cool. It won't hurt anything to take a peak inside those zip files before you install a mod, just so you can have an idea of what it does. Helps to know what files a mod is going to add when trouble shooting.
-
Yup, It's one of the mods Now you start to add them back one at a time and testing until you crash.

I'm not aware of any release since the one I downloaded? The 1-5-23? This is the one that gives me major FPS drops. Latest is 1/29/18 -
For a completely clean, unmodden version of skyrim I'm pretty sure all of the meshes and textures should be in BSAs. Meaning there should not be a Meshes or Texture folder in the Data folder. If there is, it's overriding the BSAs. The thing about textures and meshes is they can look ok, but still not be in the correct format for SSE. I've run into Oldrim textures that will crash SSE. Oldrim meshes need to be optimized. You could give this a try. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4697?tab=files It will clean up any leftover files after you uninstall all your mods. It's looking to me like you may need to start over with a clean install and add mods back in One At A Time until you find the culprit. At the very least drag the meshes and textures folders to the desktop, Or rename them so they don't override any BSAs. Then fire the game up and see if you still have an issue. Missing textures and meshes shouldn't crash the game, but you may see "purple" textures or red squares with "!" in them. But, if your install is clean then those things shouldn't happen. I'm not trying to funny here, or anything. I'm just not sure what all you know about modding Skyrim. But, make sure none of the mods you are trying to use are for Oldrim. What mod manager are you using?
-
Generally this kind of crash is a bad texture or mesh. If it does it on an unmodded game then I'm not sure what the issue is. Are you sure all the non vanilla textures and meshes are removed when you uninstall. Might be some stray files messing you up.

RE : CBBE or UNP added mid game?
TheWilloughbian replied to monkeydude40's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I prefer UNP. I like the shape and it just has more of the armours I like. CBBE has more Bodyslide options. I guess If you don't want to mess with it, go UNP. If you like playing with body shapes, then CBBE. I've see some people do cool things with body types using Bodyslide. So, your choice depends what you want to do with it. Installing mid play through shouldn't be an issue. -
I'm thinking you would have to use SSEedit to add Mod B as a master to Mod A and make sure everything is set up right with the form IDs. This will at least get rid of the "Error: Could not be resolved". The problem with that is will you need to redo this after every time you open Mod A in the CK and save, as the CK will remove the dependency on Mod b or any other esp used as a master. It's not really want you trying to do, I know but it should work. Maybe hit up Smart Blue Cat or have a peak at the guts of the Vilja and Inigo mods. They have some pretty complicated dialogue set up between the two mods.
